Who fancies 10km of mud and obstacles? Come and join Team Wolef

Quite a few of us are interested in doing the Wolf Run this September so we were thinking of getting a team together.

It's for all abilities, it should be really good fun. It's not timed and it'll be too wet to wear your Garmin, so don't worry if you're not a fast runner. We'll be a team and no Wolef will be left behind.

It's on the 6th & 7th of September just south of Coventry, so fairly central. If we get a team together we get a slightly discounted entry.

If you're interested, post on here and we'll start making a list.

We also need to pick a charity so if everyone wants to suggest their favourite one and then we can argue about it for ages with no firm decision being made.

So, I'm in and my favourite charity is the Birth Trauma Association.

I'm 5'10", first one there can stand on my shoulders :)

feetheart · 14/01/2014 16:41

Just had another thought - I wear glasses, could be interesting Hmm
Don't even suggest not wearing them as then I'll be seriously visually impaired wolef.

EauRouge · 14/01/2014 16:48

I'll be wearing my contact lenses and squealing if any water/mud goes near my eyes. I wonder if DD1 will lend me her pink swimming goggles.

Get yourself some daily disposable contacts feet - my eyes are utterly rubbish and they are fab! BTW - another short one here at 5'2" - looks like you are going to be lifting us ALL over the inevitable huge wall feet

Standingonlego · 14/01/2014 17:13

Sounds like we are a team of short sighted Wolefs :)

Tiredemma · 14/01/2014 18:10

im shortsighted too.

Blind Wolefs

feetheart · 14/01/2014 19:44

Sadly can't do daily disposables Standingonlego - astigmatism too bad, tried monthly ones but no joy there as eyes too dry Hmm
OK, so blind wolefs with comedy variation in height so far - have we discussed age yet?

EauRouge · 14/01/2014 19:58

I'm 97.

Excellent, we will get on fabulously, we can compere zimmer frames and the random ill-health of our friends and relatives :o

EauRouge · 14/01/2014 20:08

We are going to be the worst running team ever Grin

feetheart · 14/01/2014 20:10

Running? No-one said anything about running did they? If I manage staggering I will be pleased :)

EauRouge · 14/01/2014 20:12

Our team motto can be: Team Wolef, hungry for victory cake.

This is going to be hilarious. Im still wearing Tena post birth of DD 4 months ago so will probably stink of piss as I hobble around. blind.

Standingonlego · 14/01/2014 20:29

It's ok tired, with all that mud...no-one will notice any collective leakiness from team wolef. Just pity those people following us if there are any

Standingonlego · 14/01/2014 20:31

Maybe they will issue us with those red panic buttons you wear round your neck...or just gps chips in case we get confused and wander off track...

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 14/01/2014 20:38

Another short-sighted, vertically challenged, older Wolef signing in Grin

Blatherskite · 14/01/2014 21:28

And another... :)

Eau - did you forget Standingonlego?

GeekLove · 14/01/2014 22:03

Hello!

I am more of a lurker but I have been eyeballing a race since I started running after birth of DS2.
I'm in Coventry so this sounds like fun!
THis will give me more impetus to actually train and get on the chin-up bar otherwise it will be a dunking on each pit! I am another shortarse with glasses at 5'2"

I am happy with the charity but would also like to add UHCW NICU as DS1 was there as a newborn.

PS maybe we could all buy wolef onsies to wear afterwards as something nice and warm and photogenic (!).

It is not my day today Grin

Wow, am I one of the tall ones? Am 5'4" and -1.75.

OP posts:
GeekLove · 14/01/2014 22:25

Geeklove 5'2" and -4.00 eyesight.
I have contacts for swimming and contact sports
Also has anyone entered yet? if so should we do soon.
Also we should meet up - i'd like to maybe train a couple of times before the race if anyone is up for it. We could use my house as a HQ providing DH is OK with it.

GeekLove · 14/01/2014 22:26

PS ill be 35 but can do an 8 min mile down a steep hill with the wind behind me
