Hi everyone. I thought we could do with a new shiny thread.

All runners are welcome here :)

A massive well done to all runners this week. I managed to get out today and did 3.5 miles in 32 minutes. It made me feel slightly less guilty about missing parkrun on Saturday (although it is the first since August so not too bad).

Yes, marshalling counts. Perth Parkrun (assuming you mean Perth Scotland) doesn't start until 30th November but I bet there's another one close and close to Donegal too. Of course, finding the can be tough. I abandoned DH and the kids to try and find a parkrun while we were on holiday this year, drive for half an hour to get there and then couldn't find the bloody thing!

I'm driving for 2 hours for my parkrun tourism this weekend but as it's back in my home town, I'm a little more confident of finding it Wink

I've just done my last run on this side of the Atlantic. I fly this afternoon. Convinced that I have forgotten to pack something Grin.

Do you have your running gear ohone? If so you're sorted!

Enjoy your holiday :)

I do mean Perth Scotland - but my weekend consists of Friday night dance, Saturday morning dance class, Saturday afternoon AGM, Saturday evening drinks reception and formal ball, Sunday morning dance class.......so not a lot of time for a run even if there was one nearby!

S'Ok, I didnt want to run the London marathon anyway Wink

I do now IsThat (running shoes were by the back door, now in my case!). I don't think I'd have left without them.

I'm not sure I do either Melanie but I'm a sucker for a competition and I'm generally there anyway so... Wink

Did my first forest run in the dark on my own today. My friend didn't come as she's swimming in a race tonight. It was a bit weird but I regularly walk the dogs in the dark on my own so don't know why really! Was so lovely seeing the sun come up. It went from a dark clear sky to a beautiful morning, was lovely. RD tomorrow and only 4 volunteers :(, will have to be up early to set up all on my own as no one helping.

Can you put out a call for volunteers on facebook? That's what our parkrun does! Do you have a fb group? Good luck with rd tomorrow cinnamon.

Yep got 2 from fb already! Had another so we're sorted, still setting up on my own though :(

Morning park runners, hope you had a good run this morning! We were quite busy today 224 I think....but only a few manned up with the fancy dress! I think my cape slowed me down slightly but managed to limp in just under 30 mins so happy with that :)

We had lots of first timers and PBs today which was great, and the wind was not too bad. Loving park run still, still trying to convert people at all opportunities...9am Saturday, you'll love it (cleaner was the latest victim this morning)

Cinnamon - hope some extra volunteers arrived for you too!

No parkrun for me today, but a two-mile gentle jog in Central Park insteadSmile

The park was full of runners wearing an amazing variety of marathon/race shirts. I would have loved to have seen a parkrun 50 shirt-no such luckGrin

Had a good run today, another 2 minutes off my post injury time! Wasn't last today, not that it matters :) Did feel like a nice run, massive difference in my pace on the uphill section (3 lap course so teeny tiny hill 3 times) was using runkeeper which kept telling me my pace today. 312 today I think. Another 2 minutes next.week will see me at my first parkrun time (imediately post c25k) and 2 minutes after that
should be a pb :)
Oh and had a panic this morning as my trainers were nowhere to be seen. Had to run in old ones with the wrong insoles!

I did thank you, did about 2/3rds of signage and when I got back one of our regulars was setting up the finish and his mum had gone to do the rest :)
Ended up with more volunteers than I needed with three turning up in the morning!

Would love to run in Central Park! We had no rain here today, lovely weather for a parkrun :)

27.39 yesterday, which is nearly 90 seconds faster than the first time. So I'm pretty pleased with that, though the hills are still a killer. And everyone is so fast - the slowest time was 33 mins which really isn't that slow at all. I'm glad I didn't go along when I first started running as it would have been really demoralising.

Am at a friend's today and wishing I'd brought my running kit - she lives near a fantastic park with trails and wide open spaces. I think I'm addicted!

Grrrr.... Had a horrible run :( managed to overlap with a bike race in several places and despite keeping over to the edge as much as I could and having to stop to let cyclists pass only one said thank you and one shouted at me to get off the track :( :( they hadn't shut the walking routes that I usually run along so surely the bikes should treat me with as muh respect as I do them? I can work out if I'm vein over sensitive, I run there most Sundays and there was no notice that they were going to be there at all.

I'm back from my parkrun tourism :)

I think it was a busy week for them (they're only on number 5 so it's still growing) but it seemed nice and quiet in comparison to my usual parkrun and I think a combination of the flatter course and the easier start, I managed to push to a new PB - 25.38!! Finally got my sub 26 which I am really pleased about, especially at is was at least 50% slippery grass so I felt like I was having to slow down a little to make sure I concentrated on not slipping and not going down a hole.

I'm all excited for my 50th parkrun next weekend now Grin
