Hi everyone. I thought we could do with a new shiny thread.

All runners are welcome here :)

A massive well done to all runners this week. I managed to get out today and did 3.5 miles in 32 minutes. It made me feel slightly less guilty about missing parkrun on Saturday (although it is the first since August so not too bad).

Ooh lego, maybe we should come to you next? Which one are you (PM me if you don't want to say here)? I want to go to Huntingdon one week - my godmother lives nearby and I haven't seen her for ages.

Would be great to have a get together...I do have a pink top grin

Fab volunteering twice in one day blatherskite! Hope you felt better for your 50 :)

Hope your ds is well soon Standingonlego!

So I think I got a pb, about 14s off by my watch :) Hope everyone else had a good run :) still chasing the place

Well done on the pb cinnamon!

I have no idea how I've done. I think I set off too quick and got out of breath, so walked a few times trying to get it back.

Sorry your ds is poorly StandingOnLego, hope he feels better soon.

I met Blathers and she gave me cake! even though I missed the start because I went the wrong way on the M1

Super speedy results as well - the text arrived before I got home. 31 something, which is fine with me, especially as I was still parking the car at 9:03 Grin.

lego - hope DS is better soon!

Glad the bus came wem!

Well done on your PB cinnamon!

You left before I could say goodbye though!

I didn't feel a whole lot better but I did get it done so I'm happy. It certainly wasn't the PB I'd planned though.

Northampton is certainly do-able. One of my run clubs (the ones in the green shirts) tend to descend on the first run of the month so that they can do the magic mile.

Congrats Blatherskite! 50 parkruns is amazing.

My times are all over the place - 34:02 today, a pb by 30s :) and a whole 3 minutes and 34 seconds off two weeks ago!

cinnamongreyhound · 09/11/2013 13:19

Thank you, official time was 26m 33 so 15sec quicker :) actually had some bloke, who has already told me I had an advantage running with my dog (clearly he hasn't ha to stop and pick up poo in a parkrun!), look behind at me and say 'oh you're still there then' same bloke proceeded to spit every 30sec at my feet, run across in front of me and twice speed up so I couldn't pass him :( not quite the parkrun spirit!

Well done Blatherskite and wem and had to laugh at OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive still being in the car park at 9.03!

Congrats everyone, and well done to blathers on your 50th! Did a slow one today but as I hadn't run much in the last 3 weeks, and last night had a couple of glasses of wine with a friend, that's really ok!

OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive · 09/11/2013 17:17

Well done cinnamon! Blokey sounds like a nightmare - I do hate spitting with a passion.

Glad you had a good one Knackerelli Smile. Balance in everything Smile.

Blathers - I think you had gone off to offer your yummy cake around. Sorry I didn't say goodbye properly - I only had enough dosh on me to pay for an hour (that's how I knew it was 9:03 when I was parking Grin) and I suddenly felt chilly.

So - how about a Northampton parkrun before the end of the year Smile?

I managed 31.47 for my debut at Parkrunning today which I'm fairly happy with.

It poured down for the entire time and was only 6 degrees. I think I surprised my colleagues by turning up on such a cold and wet day!

I'm hoping to get along there every 4-6 weeks. DH has an activity that this clashes with so more often than that is probably unrealistic.

Northampton would be too far for me I'm afraid.

Well done Iwish! And especially well done for running in the cold and wet!

Well done everyone on your runs today :) especially blathers who is now in the 50 club! Envy

We had a great time at Harry Potter world the kids all behaved even ds2 (11mo) mostly.

I really missed parkrun though. I wonder if I can convince mil to have ds2 next sat so I can run?

Glad you had a good time IsThat. I think you should try to sweet-talk MIL so you can parkrun next week Smile.

DH is out running Grin Grin Grin. This is MASSIVE for him - he knackered his knee about this time last year during a marathon, hardly ran between then and surgery in May, then had horrible complications all through the summer which led to lots of muscle wastage and loss of residual fitness. He was only given the all-clear to run again a week or two ago, and is only gently jogging (on the grass rather than the paths) in the park opposite our house, but he looks good and it feels like a huge step for him.

Hello, I hope you don't mind me gate-crashing but I keep meaning to go to the Northampton park run (as it's my home run) and would love to meet other mumsnetters there. I am returning from a year of injury but have just run 5 miles so am feeling chuffed with myself.

Hello dramaqueen and welcome back to running!

Looks like all we need now is a date for a Northampton parkrun meet-up with lego, Blathers, you and me (and anyone else who wants to come Grin).

Hi dramaqueen!

Yay for your dh OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive! I know how frustrating an injury can be but haven't ever been out for as long as a year.

Northampton must be 1 1/2hrs from me so probably a bit far!

Had a lovely run with both dogs today, pushed my greyhound a bit but I kept him on the lead so he didn't go mad and wear himself out and he managed it ok. Only did 7 miles as some attempt at tapering before my half next Sunday!

A half cinnamon? FantasticSmile
I have a day off today so am hoping to get out later. It is pretty wet so I may not go far.

I don't think I can get to Nhampton the first Saturday in December-DS1 has his final rugby match of the season a couple of hours in the opposite direction, and from speaking to other parents on Saturday it doesn't sound as though many are planning to make the trek except die-hards like us. But don't let that stop you if it works for the rest of you-I can go another timeSmile

how about the 30 November or 14 December for a meet up at Northampton? I'm happy to fit in with the majority.

Report

I have a 10k in the evening on the 30th which won't stop me parkrunning but might mean I'm taking it easy.

I can do the 14th too
