Thanks Noel, good plan.

Just need to redecorate the bathroom first - no wsy am I going to be able to paint the ceiling after shredding :)

JoAlone · 09/08/2013 10:37

Day 4, first morning one, was nervous, but managed just fine. Getting a little easier, bloody side lunges with arm raises, my shoulders can't take it. The butt kicking is a hit and miss thing, at least 2 but kicks a session, but working up to more.
Stretch people....the stretches Jillian does aren't nearly enough. My calves are killing me! Find I need to do at least another 10mins of stretching to just not be sore. Oh, also, note to self, never try to shave legs in shower after shred, dangerous activity Hmm

JetBlack · 09/08/2013 11:39

Hi guys, can I join you all?

I started shredding on monday, I've attempted it twice before but gave up each time after the third day Blush

But last night I forced myself to get up and complete L1D4, I absolutely hate it whilst I'm doing it but feel great afterwards so it's worth pushing myself for that feeling alone.

I'm so impressed with you guys, all the success and progress you've had so I'm hoping you will inspire and shame me into completing it Smile

lifesgreatquestions · 09/08/2013 16:30

This morning's shred was a little tougher, uff, tomorrow is day 10 of level 1, I think I must be anticipating level two!

Ruby, I was there, it does get easier, I swear! That's some amazing weight loss too!

Hi Jetblack, that was an achievement to move on to day 4!

HellesBelles396IsDeeplyUncool · 09/08/2013 16:46

Confession: still haven't shredded as I am still painting the bathroom. Turns out I really hate white walls. Cue trip to homebase and purchase of colour :)

NoelHeadbands · 09/08/2013 17:10

Rollering the ceiling/above my head hurts my triceps!

Rugbylovingmum · 09/08/2013 19:59

Well I think I am going to wimp out on the Shred today - I ache all over but mostly across my upper back. In the last 4 days I have done body pump, aerobics, and 3 days of the shred plus lots of long walks and I think my body has had enough. I'm still quite new to exercising. DP wants some beer so rather than a half hearted attempt to shred I am going to walk to the nice beer/wine shop now and shred tomorrow instead. It's a 45 min fast walk to the shop (and 45 min back obv) so I can still burn a few calories while recovering. Luckily I rarely drink so if I stay away from the crisp rack it should be easy to avoid temptation.

SheepAreSuper · 10/08/2013 13:53

L2D3 done. I really ached after yesterday, particularly my bum muscles. Still not liking it much though it is getting easier and the satisfaction of completing it is much more than L1.

By my reckoning Life & Things, you'll be starting L2 tomorrow? Let us know what you think (and yes pendulum lunges AND plenty of planking).

Hope the aches are easing off Ruby. That's a lot of exercise.

Happy weekend shredders Grin

lifesgreatquestions · 10/08/2013 16:01

Today was the first day I seriously did not want to shred, I wanted to lie in, I was exhausted and just wanted to go back to sleep. We had a lazy morning and I still just could not wake up so I finally decided to shred to see if it would help. I have to say, it gave me the much needed energy boost and I followed it with an 8 mile walk. Tomorrow is day 11, so 1st day of level two, bring it on!

Sheep, I can't even imagine what a pendulum lunge is, but I think I know what a plank is, I guess I can say goodbye to this period of finding it relatively easy and using the abs time as a breather for me! Are you ready Things?

lifesgreatquestions · 10/08/2013 16:21

I've just realised that I'm trying to lose 2 & 1/2 stone, 34 pounds Sad. I weighed myself at the start of the shred but didn't really think about the number except to clock that it was high. I'm shocked I let it get that bad. That's a motivator. I think I'm going to have to look at my diet. That's depressing!

Rugbylovingmum · 10/08/2013 18:11

Life - don't worry, you can lose 2.5st - by sticking to the shred, even on tough days, you've already shown you can make healthy changes if you really want to. I started out 7 weeks ago with about 4st to lose Blush. I joined Rosemary Conley for a bit of support and started getting more active and 7 weeks later I am 1st 3.5lb lighter which is about 1/3 of the way to my goal [grin}. I found it really motivating when the instructor pointed out that if I lost 1lb a week for a year I would lose almost 4 stone. I usually lose more than a lb so I picture reaching my goal in a year and every time I lose more than a lb I feel it is taking a bit of time off the end IYSWIM.

I am going to do L1D4 tonight as the aches have eased off a bit but I am already dreading L2 after reading your posts - planks and pendulum lunges Shock!

satsumagirl · 10/08/2013 18:46

Hi ladies Grin

I am thinking of doing the shred and wondering if its good for post baby tums? I had DC2 8 months ago and currently a size 12/ 14 with a mum tum (have had 2 sections). Would like to tone up and lose about a stone

JetBlack · 10/08/2013 20:17

Hey guys!

Was meant to do L1D5 yesterday and have a rest day today but I've had to swap it round as I had a really bad headache yesterday and my asthma was flaring up so back on it tonight!

I've been finding it really hard to sleep this week so was wondering it this is linked to shredding at night? Maybe I should start doing it in the mornings but I'm not a morning person at the best of times, never mind to get up to exercise Hmm

Standingonlego · 10/08/2013 21:34

Hello fellow shredders, catching up after losing iPad charger! rugby I did "dial it in" in the end and did not shred on Thursday after gym.

However, Friday L1D4 done. Today super happy as did park run this morning and got my best time this year Smile and just managed to shred so now L1D5 done!

Everyone is doing so well, and reporting in and sharing in your successes is really motivating and inspiring so thank you!

jet late night shredding does mean I need to stay up even later as have t.o chill and cool down for a bit" could you do a mid morning or tea time session?

satsuma give it a whirl, it is helping me with the love handles as well as the tum!

Rugbylovingmum · 10/08/2013 21:53

L1D4 done this evening - really didn't want to do it but once I got started it was fine. I have 2 meals out this week and really want to lose a bit of weight and get under 13st so that should keep me motivated this week. Def skipping Monday - I have a game of squash booked for the morning and bodypump in the evening - but I'll make sure I fit it in between decorating for the rest of the week.

Standing - congrats on your personal best Grin

Satsuma - I've just started but I'm also hoping the shred will help to shift my tummy (although I'll have to shift the blubber first to see the effects Blush). I've also had 2 sections and worried the shred might be too much but it's been fine so far. Good luck with it!

Standingonlego · 11/08/2013 08:35

Morning, thank you rugby Blush another shred done for you too and sounds like you have a busy day and week ahead - enjoy!

lifesgreatquestions · 11/08/2013 11:46

First day of level 2! It was like going back to the beginning, not being able to do stuff. I think the system is really clever though because rather than being soul destroying I kept thinking "Stay with it, level 1 got easier within a few/5 days", although I don't think I will ever be able to do proper plank jacks, (among other things) and I feel really sorry for poor Natalie, she seriously got the short straw on this video. It was back to sweating into my eyes stuff, I really don't think I've ever dripped more!

I can't get over the positive/feisty feelings I get from doing this. I think it's having a real emotional impact, as if I'm working through the demons left behind from the miscarriages, I didn't expect that.

Thanks for the encouragement Rugby, your weight loss is major, so impressive, you must be thrilled!! And your instructor sounds really encouraging, as you say, a lb a week sounds doable so anything above that is money in the bank!

Jet, I might be more of a morning person than you are, but I hardly wake up perky or at all really, but I find stumbling down getting dressed and switching the computer on and just doing what I'm told for 20 minutes in my half sleep is ok and then I have the pleasure of having done it and not wondering when or how I'll fit it in. I also like to do it before I eat. Maybe just try a morning, a work day when you have to get up anyway, and see how you find it? I find I have to add about 35 minutes to my morning to fit it in.

My god Standing and those of you fitting this in around already full sounding exercise regimes, you have my deepest respect.

How are you getting on Things?

Standingonlego · 11/08/2013 22:07

Evening all, L1d6 done.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend, and are ready and eager for a shredful week ahead Grin

lifesgreatquestions · 12/08/2013 08:17

Hi Standing (it's echoing in here!) Well done your l1d6! I just did l2d2, it's tough and I miss Jillian saying at the end that this is when we push harder, that we can float off the air because we're strong... blah blah blah, she's not as motivational/encouraging in level 2!

Illustrated · 12/08/2013 08:59

Ooh I've not checked in for a while. I will be doing L3 D7 today. Trying not to lose my motivation, its been slipping slightly the last few days.

I see and feel a big difference in my body up to this point and I feel a lot more confident. I've even been asked out on a date!

RippingYarns · 12/08/2013 09:26

Morning everyone, I'm on L1 but day 12 - I bottled L2 on the warm-up as my neck felt too tight, I've asked on the other thread but does anyone have any good but gentle exercises I can do to strengthen up my neck/throat muscles, please?

monster54 · 12/08/2013 09:48

Morning everyone!!!

Level one complete!! Over 2 weeks I shred mon - fri. About to embark on level 2 tonight!!

Any tips?!?

lifesgreatquestions · 12/08/2013 09:56

Hi Illustrated, wow, I'm so envious of you being so near the end, and what great comparisons to when you started! Wink. Will you go on the date?

Hi Monster I'm just two days in to L2, I have no tips, I just keep reminding myself that each day I press on is another day I can tick off, good luck!

NoelHeadbands · 12/08/2013 11:00

Hi everyone, well done all you shredders Smile

I've had a lazy weekend, though I did get a body pump class in on Sat so....
