It's fun to spot mistakes in the DVD too or when Natalie cheats!

After a while all the talking pisses me off so I listen to my own music Grin makes it much more palatable - especially on day 10 Smile

MrsBertMacklin · 31/07/2013 13:03

Level 1-reboot Day 1 - done.

When I last shredded, I'd finished L1 and should be moving onto L2. But as I've had two weeks of doing nothing, I'm going to do another 5 days of L1 to get back up to speed.

SheepAreSuper · 31/07/2013 13:12

Oooh a Shred thread to join Grin

I started Monday so will be doing L1D3 when I get home from work.

I've did it last year and whilst neither the scale nor the tape measure results showed any losses, I did look a lot better so I've taken loads of photos this time.

poeia · 31/07/2013 13:24

Hi ladies,
Thread has come at a perfect time for me (a sign??!) I have been thinking I need to get back on the shred, less than 2 weeks til I go on holiday, as usual have left toning too late, but I usually feel a difference after 2/3 shreds.
Have done it before but never completed the 30 days, usually more like 7/8. Also have the ripped in 30 DVD so might do a bit of that too.

Good luck everyone and let's try to stay motivated, it can produce great results Smile

GrimmaTheNome · 31/07/2013 13:32

Excellent, the more the merrier.

Yes... try to start 5-6 weeks ahead next year! But even a couple of weeks will make a real difference and you can carry on afterwards - that's what I'm planning to do.

Can you tell me what the Ripped in 30 is like please? I was wondering whether to try that instead of repeat shred after the hols?

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 31/07/2013 19:27

Hi all, can I join? I generally keep quite fit (run 4-5 times a week with occasional swim/circuit session thrown in)...has anyone gone from doing this type of thing to the shred and seen results? Just 20 mins of activity doesn't sit right with me...I think I will end up feeling under-exercised and fat Sad I have done JM's six week six pack and the banish fat boost metabolism and felt 'exercised' after those though. Gonna do L1D1 now. Will report back the effects shortly Grin

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 31/07/2013 20:23

Done. Cardiovascularly and abs wise felt fine but struggled with some of the arms/compound strength moves which sort of proves to me I need to do this stuff. Will continue for a few more days then think about supplementing.

Also, is there a special diet to follow? I heard JM mention something at the start but no details, I bought my dvd as a three pack though so wonder if this info only comes with the single dvd? This is definitely an area I should work on as well...to much chocolate, wine and snacky crap at the mo!

NoelHeadbands · 31/07/2013 21:16

Evening all and welcome to the new joiners

Things I'm in awe, I definitely don't feel under-exercised Grin

OP posts:
NoelHeadbands · 31/07/2013 21:18

I bought the DVD on its own and there's no diet advice with it. If I'm not mistaken, I think you pay for that via her website?

I follow a low carb WOE in general, and I'm off the vino now until I go on hols at the end of August.

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 31/07/2013 21:28

Hey Noel, don't get me wrong, my arms are hurting...I think after 10 years of running 5 times a week (and being ex military) I don't feel like I have done enough unless I feel sick, however I need to change this as I actually don't think it's that good for me Sad And I need to do less running (bad for the knees) and more strength (to increase bone density)...I'd also like to buff up a bit took Grin I have been criticised in my gym for too much cardio and not enough strength but I just don't feel that confident using the machines/weights in there, so this seems a great way to do it, especially if I have mn to motivate me Wink

GrimmaTheNome · 31/07/2013 21:59

Thing is, because its only 20 mins you can do this - mainly for the strength and do something else as well if you want.

I think on the dvd there's a 'recommendations' which gives her website for diet info, but I'm doing 5:2 so didn't look at it.

nearlyreadytopop · 31/07/2013 22:49

ok, I'm in. I tried this before, did 2days worth, found out I was preggers and didn't look at it again.
remind me, are you meant to do it every day? I'm doing c25k and was planning on alternating running with shred.
also should I take measurements?

Headred · 01/08/2013 08:37

Hi All

Just completed day 4 and I must say it did feel much easier. I am doing it alongside calorie counting with my fitness pal. I have been so good but have put 4lbs on since Monday. How did that happen?

poeia · 01/08/2013 08:44

Grimma - the ripped in 30 is pretty similar but has rotations of 4 (shorter) exercises instead of 3. I like is as it is shorter times for each movement, but essentially it is the same kind of stuff as in the shred - different cardio, abs and weights stuff :)

Off to the beach today, shred planned for to tonight. Did someone we say they're doing slimming world as well as shred? Same as me.. Weigh in tonight but I know not a good week for me!

Well done those who have shredded already Smile

GrimmaTheNome · 01/08/2013 09:18

Second time around, day 2, did L2.

Headred, you can't really have put on 4lb since Monday. It'll be water etc. You may have gained some muscle (I doubt 4lb though!) which can offset fat loss, which is why weight alone doesn't tell the whole story anyway.

monster54 · 01/08/2013 11:12

Hi ladies I started shred last week,

I've noticed a gain too? Is this usual?? I'm doing 4:3 fasting diet too so calories in contro!!

SerotoninCanEatTomorrow · 01/08/2013 14:03

Just been to town for dinner bits, so going to set the toddler up with lunch and a film, then L1D1 Shred, followed by DDP Yoga: Fat Burner and Red Hot Core.

Fasting today, so have only had 2 coffees and a lot of water Smile

Lunch will be a cup soup, and dinner will be beef casserole (mainly veg though)

Work until 0030, and then I am going to get up at 0600 for a run before the house wakes up :) then mid-afternoon, L1D2.

Got a wedding Sat, might be able to sneak a run in but it's doubtful.

JohnSnowsTie · 01/08/2013 14:19

Greetings all - think I'll hang out on this thread as I can't start shred till end of year (pg) but can't get enough of hearing about it!

Please tell me it works...

NoelHeadbands · 01/08/2013 17:04

Evening everyone how are we all?

Level 1 Day 2 done. I thought it was going to be a piece of cake this time round. It's not.

lifesgreatquestions · 01/08/2013 17:57

I just got home and my dvd is here so I can start! I might not be able to do it tonight but will try! Does anyone get near the mark of "lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days" promise???

I hope you don't mind but it will motivate me to mark any progress if I can note my stats:

I'm 5'7" (I don't care if the receipt says 5'6"!) and 12 st 6 lbs.
my arms are 12 1/2 inches
waist at belly button is 37 1/2
hips 45 1/2 inches
thighs 26 inches.

RippingYarns · 01/08/2013 18:02

oohhhh a new shred thread here too!

i did D1L1 this morning, thanks to some inspiration on MN

i've done the whole 30 days twice before, but not for months if i'm honest it's probably almost a year Shock

GrimmaTheNome · 01/08/2013 18:25

Does anyone get near the mark of "lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days" promise???

I lost about half a stone, also doing the 5:2 but I'd not really been losing weight doing that alone (it stopped the inexorable creep up). I'm smaller than you though - height and weight etc - I'd have thought someone bigger would lose rather more.

iWillDoItInAMinute · 01/08/2013 19:19

L3D6 done

Too hot today, mostly Anita's and I'm knackered !

Looking forward to starting again.

Lifesgreat I will be noting my stats when I restart, only a few more days to go

lifesgreatquestions · 01/08/2013 21:54

Phew, just sitting here cooling down as I eject the dvd from my first go. It's so freaking hot! I love the dvd though, you never have to do anything for too long it seems. Thanks for your input Grimma, and further up, I skimmed the thread earlier and took in your advice. I won't be doing the 5:2 diet. My diet isn't bad, the weight came from freaky eating during two pg's, an ice cream bar a day followed by a bit of depression anyone? Not good for health! I haven't carried on eating that way but I guess being a little older the weight has just stuck around! "Iwilldoitinaminute" I hope you do post stats, I think it will be motivational to see the numbers go down!Anyway, off to wash the sweat out of my eyes.

PessimisticMissPiggy · 02/08/2013 07:39

Checking in. Since starting 30DS in the last week in June I've lost 7lbs.
My limbs are leaner and toned, but the tummy and hips need help!

This month I want to lose an inch off my hips and tummy and another 7lbs.

Level 3 now. Like this level better than the rest!
