Argh I still have day 4 to do! Will be back when it's done :-/

Murtette · 22/08/2013 21:02

Just done L1D9. I think my body appreciated a 36 hour break between workouts & I was able to do the 2min cardio session continuously each time (so no break whilst she was chatting).
I also watch L2 earlier. I have no idea how I'm going to do it. Most of the moves seem to be based around the plank position & I can't plank! I'm now very nervous about Saturday!

Bumpotato · 22/08/2013 21:50

I've now done day 4 L1 with a note to self to do it earlier in the day from now on.

Standingonlego · 23/08/2013 07:30

I skipped shred last night as was dashing around packing! We are off to France, so not sure how that will impact my shred routine. I have packed my handweights just in case....but Jillian has already done wonders as I have also packed my BIKINI!!!!

If Wi Fi is good it may be business as usual, if not I will be back in September and until then HAPPY SHREDDING FOLKS!!!!

GrimmaTheNome · 23/08/2013 10:35

Reboot L1D3 done.

Lifesgreat, I reckon a day off can be a good idea - I usually don't have time anyway Saturday and most sundays and the first time through that worked fine.

lifesgreatquestions · 23/08/2013 10:45

I did it yesterday Grimma, just didn't feel like it! My takeaway was awful as well so ended up avoiding the big binge!

Worried about taking my measurements in 7 days and this motivated me to do more this morning, I did all three levels one after the other! I've now shredded every day for 23 days. My family reunion is now only 6 weeks away so I need to push on, think after this I will set another 30 day challenge with measurements as the fear of the outcome of that really spurs me on when I don't feel like exercising!

Standing I was thinking of taking my weights me with me on holiday as well, did you take your mat as well? I'm thinking I need to get some quick to dry exercise stuff to take with me as well as I'll ideally need just one outfit that I can wash after each use. Any of you regular exercisers have any suggestions?

FlyMetotheMoon0 · 23/08/2013 10:45

Can I join for some encourgaement?
started the shred few days ago, now on L1D3,
Having porridge for breakfast, slim fast for lunch and chicken and veg type meals for dinner
However feeling a bit disheartened as I've PUT ON 3lbs!!
Didn't feel up to shred yesterday but still did it but after learning aboutu weight gain I really don't feel like doing it today Sad

FlyMetotheMoon0 · 23/08/2013 10:51

Ps havnt read the whole thread yet but will be back later, has anyone seen good results, I Want lose around a stone bit really need to tone up more than anything my legs and stomach are looking very wobbly of late Blush

Bumpotato · 23/08/2013 11:10

I did L1 day 5 first thing before the kids got up this morning. I've lost 3.75 lbs since Monday going by the scales.

standing it is my dream to wear a bikini again and look good in it! Enjoy your hols.

GrimmaTheNome · 23/08/2013 11:28

Flyme - apparently it's not uncommon to gain a little when you start doing muscle-building exercises. What really matters isn't so much weight as fat loss. Shred has made a real difference to my tone/strength (I'm on my second time around now).

NoelHeadbands · 23/08/2013 17:36

Hello everyone!

Wow everyone's doing so well- I'm mixing it up at the moment with different levels, plus body pumping.

Off to France this week so there'll be no shredding. Just eating. And drinking Blush

L1D10 done!!! Early last week, I really didn't think I'd make it this far so am really chuffed. I am very nervous about going onto L2 as I really don't think I can get into the right position for some of those moves but I'll give them a go &, if I can't do them, will revert to L1 moves for that section.
Standing that's excellent news on the bikini. Bump well done on your loss. I'm not weighing in until Sunday but am expecting a loss this week. I've definitely lost inches, if not lbs. I seem to have lost weight in some random places - my ankles, my chest & then in the middle of my bum which leaves me with saddle bags below. Not a good look! What is good though is that the press ups & arm moves seem to have tightened up my boobs & they're looking a bit more pert.
FlyMe - I lost nothing in the first week despite shredding every day & only eating around 1300 cals per day.

HellesBellesThinksSometimes · 23/08/2013 23:40

Everyone seems to be going great guns at the moment. I am a week into nursing a mildly sprained ankle after chasing the bin men through the village with my wheelie-bin (I overslept). Swelling gone but stiff and painful so I will reboot my shred in a week to ten days (or whenever I've had a couple of days without pain or stiffness). Guess we'll be on a september shred thread by then - see you there!

ValerieVelociraptor · 24/08/2013 11:51

Can I join too? Been lurking on this thread for ages! Am on day 1 of level 2 and found it so difficult. Felt like it went really quickly and I was exhausted and bright red by the end but don't feel like I did very well as I was trying to keep up with all the new moves, didn't help that 5 year old DS was in the background giving a running commentary!
Have felt a bit of a difference so far mainly in arms, but would love to tone stomach which after 2 dc (youngest 15 months) is just horrendous. Been sticking mainly to Anita, am hoping that this will still give some results. Been thinking that if I get to the end of level 3 could go back and do the whole thing again Natalie style - if I manage to get that far!
Finding it really addictive though, have never stuck with anything so long before.
Sounds like you are all doing great so far.

FlyMetotheMoon0 · 24/08/2013 14:03

Afternoon shredders
Was feeling a bit de-motivated yesterday with finding Out I'd gained 3lbs but I've read through the whole thread and I'm feeling a bit more positive today, completed L1D4 this Morning, I even managed a few Anita style push ups which I couldn't do at all when I started Grin

Is it just me or does Natialie freak you out a bit with her constant cheesy grin, she may have a body to die for but surely she doesn't enjoy exercise that much!?
In fact I think Anita is the only sane one, Jillian makes sex faces when she actually does an exercise Grin

Murtette · 24/08/2013 19:33

I'm not going to Shred today as I got my period so am feeling wiped out. The DC have just gone to bed (and seem to have gone straight to sleep - phew!) so have just put on my PJs and am about to make a hot water bottle. And it was all going so well.

lifesgreatquestions · 24/08/2013 22:02

Hi flyme and Valerie, welcome! Rest upmurtette!

I did two levels today, enjoying doing more on days off, am hoping it pays of on the 30th, which will be day 30 for me. I really don't feel like I've lost weight though, just gaining strength and being more toned.

Thatballwasin · 25/08/2013 13:08

I'm on D6 of L1 and am a bit disappointed so far as I'm finding it a bit too easy. I can fit a 20 min workout into my morning and that suits me better than anything else I could do so I really wanted this to work for me. Is there a big jump up in L2/L3? I've been gradually putting on weight and have just hit tipping point so most of my jeans don't fit - I really need to be shredded!!!

GrimmaTheNome · 25/08/2013 21:01

Hi ThatBall - well, if you're finding it a bit easy (EnvyGrin) you could try bigger weights for at least some of the moves. Or take a look at L3 where some of the same cardio moves are done with weights and do that now. I'm on my second time round and for some of the moves (bicep curls and chest flies) I'm using 3kg weights (still 5lb for the others).

The 20 min format really is good for being able to actually do it consistently - I don't know if there's any tougher 20m workouts for real badasses Grin

Thatballwasin · 25/08/2013 21:37

Thanks Grimma, I hope I don't sound smug - I really want this to work. I will step up the weights now. I can't see me moving past Anita for the press ups so if they dominate the later stages I'm screwed!

GrimmaTheNome · 25/08/2013 21:42

No, there's planks and other things rather than straight press-ups, most of which are (IMO) more doable than press-ups.

Can anyone do full press-ups?

RippingYarns · 25/08/2013 21:44

me! me! i can do full press-ups!

i can even do them in walking press-up

GrimmaTheNome · 25/08/2013 21:50

Wow, respect... have you always been able to do press ups? I think you said you'd done the shred a couple of times before though, so wondering (hoping!) you've built up to it.

RippingYarns · 25/08/2013 21:56
Grin

i've always had really strong arms and legs, it's the bits in between that let me down

i danced a lot when i was young, i mean 3/4 times a week, then took up tae bo (sp?) boxing and tae bo aerobics.

9lb DCs helped a lot too Grin

lifesgreatquestions · 25/08/2013 23:01

Ripping, real press ups! Ditto respect! I struggle with the L3 walk out press up, I'm just about able to press a couple of centimetre's in and then I kind of freak!

Day 25 here. I'm thrilled that I've stuck with it and that I'm now able to play around with it and do 2 or more levels if I want. I can imagine actually sticking with this.
