Anyone want to join me? It means we should start 2012 being able to run 5k - now there's an incentive to stick with it.

Xmas Grin at you using your labour playlist! Might look for a 90s compilation. It's where my heart is.

ohbugrit · 11/12/2011 21:09

I still haven't run again :(

Decided to do a dash for some Christmas shopping this afternoon and DH had promised me running shoes for Christmas so I went to the running shop to get my feet sussed out. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes! The man there was lovely, really helpful and I tried on and ran in 7 different pairs of shoes before deciding on the best pair. I can thoroughly recommend Run 4 It to any Scottish MNers.

Anyway that meant the gym was shut by the time I got back, and now I'm in bed.

Tomorrow!

I'm a 90s kind of girl too - "no no, no no no no, no no no no, there's no liiiimiiiiit" Grin

ohbugrit · 12/12/2011 20:37

W3R2 DONE! I managed to accidentally switch the podcast off just as the final 3 minute run was coming up Angry but I could time it on the treadmill so it wasn't a problem. Maybe the last one of W3 I'll do without screwing up, we'll see.

I love my new running shoes, v comfy.

I hope you guys are all doing fine :)

CarolCervix · 13/12/2011 09:05

i need to do W4R1 today but it's so orrid out there i can't bring myself to go out. my normal route is going to be under a foot of mud so i'm thinking maybe i'll do a road run after dark but that will involve evil hills.

CarolCervix · 13/12/2011 09:06

Xmas Grin at labour playlist too.

HamblesHandbag · 13/12/2011 09:15

Hi again!

I'm due to start W4 today, yikes! very nervous and daunted by it.

I love my new running shoes too, they feel very supportive compared to my old trainers.

And bless the labour playlist golemmings Grin I personally favour a bit of hip hip/RnB for running (and dancing) though I would never listen to that kind of stuff in the car/house.

ohbugrit · 13/12/2011 09:31

Sending happy running vibes to you week 4 starters :) you can do it!

musttidyupmusttidyup · 13/12/2011 09:40

Yes week four is definitely a step up but feels like a real achievement.

musttidyupmusttidyup · 13/12/2011 19:10

W4R3 done! And did extra 2 minutes after second long run so managed 7 minutes (had misjudged distance and was a bit far from home!) It was fine but I'm still terrified slightly worried about week 5.

golemmings · 13/12/2011 19:16

Lacking motivation here. Have dad up. DH was out last night and is again tomorrow. Spent all day yesterday cleaning, toddler group and hv today plus the dye stuff to prepare for bumps and babes tomorrow morning and we're taking dad into the hills for a walk tomorrow and nursery Xmas concert on the pm. I'm not inactive but I can't see me starting week 4 until Thursday when dad goes home.

Plus the weather is horrid.

Hard init?

musttidyupmusttidyup · 14/12/2011 21:06

It is golemmings. Stick with it girl.

ohbugrit · 15/12/2011 17:14

Agreed, it's tough - but with one thing and another I had 6 days between runs last week and didn't notice it being any harder after the break.

If you've already run today golemmings then I hope it went well. If you haven't, LACE UP THOSE TRAINERS, WOMAN! Grin

golemmings · 15/12/2011 17:41

well I've finished the christmas shopping... but I'm bell ringing tonight so it will have to be tomorrow. I'm so rubbish. I will go first thing tomorrow, in daylight back in time to shower change and meet friends at 10 for the weekly walk which tomorrow is to the pub for lunch!

OP posts:
ohbugrit · 16/12/2011 09:16

Mmmmmmmm pub lunch :)

The thread is quiet just now. Is it something I said?

Off to gym as soon as this baby sleeps.

musttidyupmusttidyup · 16/12/2011 15:45

It's bloody flitting between rain and snow and its fecking cold.

W5R1 done. Now it's wine o'clock. Xmas Grin

golemmings · 17/12/2011 07:24

You're so good. I'm rubbish. I'm a whole week behind now..

How was week 5?
Is it just the 3 of us left?

HH? Carol? Where are you?

OP posts:
musttidyupmusttidyup · 17/12/2011 10:26

Not rubbish. Life gets in the way. Let's keep at it. Roll call please.... Who's present and where are you?

Tidy here. W5.

ohbugrit · 17/12/2011 13:03

bugrit checking in - week 4 in prospect (finished w3r3 this morning! -

golemmings · 17/12/2011 18:43

I'm here too, miss.

And tonight's excuse is I've washed my running kit and I can't find my legs or my jacket and I'm not sure where ky trainers but I'm going anyway because I've finished my half of DS's thank you cards and I've made a start on the Christmas cards (thank you cbeebies and the baby gym for giving me half an hour this afternoon) and I need to give DH time to catch up. Might try and squeeze another one in tomorrow morning after ringing too...

I went out last night and made a start on w4. It's actually ok, isn't it. Felt so much better for having gone.

OP posts:
ohbugrit · 18/12/2011 13:48

Well done you, lemmings, and good to hear it's not so bad. I start tomorrow, just can't decide whether to go first thing or after the DC are in bed. No point saying I'll see how I feel because I know how I'll feel in the morning - totally not arsed!

musttidyupmusttidyup · 18/12/2011 18:37

Hooray bugrit and lemmings now.... Where ate the rest of them?
I did W5R2 this morning snd managed the 8 min runs ok. Even did 2 mins extra on the last one as was, once again, further from home than I thought I would be. Run three this week is the biggie, 20 mins, will I ever manage it? I like running in the morning. But it does definitely make me more hungry all day.
I am pleased to have lost a couple of pounds, my weight loss had slowed right up so hoping I'm heading in the right direction again.... But have achieved the '9 months on 9 months off' rule for the first time Xmas Grin now just need to lose the extra stone from before I had all the DCs.
Anyhow. Feel the need for some of those stuffed jalapeños.

golemmings · 18/12/2011 19:07

Tidy, we're in a similar boat; I managed 9 months on 10 weeks off ( I lost 2 stone the week ds was born; he was a big lad! which only left me with half a stone to lose) but I still have a stone to go from dd a couple of years ago.

I'm heading out tomorrow for w4r2 which I'm looking forward to.
