I need a Shred buddy

I had a Shred buddy but she knackered her knees. It turns out I have no self-motivation at all as I haven't done it once since she stopped.

Anyone looking at a neglected copy of the 30 Day Shred and want to buddy up? We had managed to get to day 10 and had just moved up to level 2 when we stopped, but I'm happy to start again at day 1.

Not much required, just a daily check in to say, 'yep, done it for today, how about you?'

Whaddya say?

PureNewWool - that's awful. Nothing worse - just loads of water in the hope of it all ending soon!

BadPoet - just finished Day 3 round about the same time you did again, haha! Was the worst day so far - honestly had to keep on talking myself into keeping on going, think the burn is finally happening. Wasn't made any easier with 3 year old trying to take part, baby starting to get a bit gurney, and DH deciding he was going to try it as well. Big bust up half way through and DH and DD1 were taken out of the room [cgrin] Saying that, DH thinks it's really good and is now going to properly do it with me with humungous weights [cenvy]. Ache all over, and DH did reasonably suggest I make it a 90 day shred, and just do 30 days at each level if I was finding it so tough. For shame.

Also, off topic, but getting really excited about the Royal Wedding even though when they got engaged I was completely, so what? Off to drink several a glass of champagne in their honour!

PureNewWoolWithPerfectStitches · 29/04/2011 09:16

Me too Brian (great name btw), toast and tea will be the toasting from me though, no champagne here Grin

PatTheHammer · 29/04/2011 20:13

Doing well guys, i must admit that I shredded tonight (level 2) but first exercise since tuesday, felt so bad that I went out for a run after and that nearly killed me Blush.

Been a bad week with so many assignments to do, would never have two whole days off from exercise usually!

Oh well, body pump tomorrow morning and then will shred in the afternoon hopefully.

Keepcalm, sorry about the backSad

BadPoet · 30/04/2011 08:01

Shredded! We leave in an hour, so won't hang around but thought I'd check in - I'll be back on Monday!

supersal, I did level one again yesterday as level 2 is really, really hard on my knees. I am tempted to do a few more level ones and then skip straight to level 3........hmm, although the sheer fact it is level THREE scares me somewhat!

Won't shred today as had circuits class this morning that was, um, challenging to say the least. Will see if I can fit it in on monday.

Bike ride sounds fun, bet your bum feels better after all the lungesGrin

Brianstorm · 01/05/2011 13:30

Just finished Day 5 - didn't get a chance to update yesterday. Getting slightly easier, and I know the ab exercise are definitely getting better on my part. Just waiting for the results to show Grin. Glad to see that even if you're not Shredding that you're still getting a bit of exercise - I've started using a space hopper to play out in the garden while the weather is still nice - and just about to get my inlines on! I would NEVER have dreamt of doing either a few months ago...

Brianstorm · 02/05/2011 13:14

And Day 6. Just hope this roll of hard work continues..

BadPoet - how'd you get on at the caravan - you certainly got the weather for it!

Pat - don't know how you do it all - I can hardly cope with the 20 minutes a day I'm currently doing.

SuperSal - really proud of you - is it tomorrow for Level 2?? I'll not be starting it until Saturday unless I fall off the wagon and lie on the settee eating chocolate of all descriptions Grin

KeepCalmAndCarryOnMNing · 02/05/2011 13:55

Well done to all of you keeping up the shredding.

Still suffering with back pain here Sad. Thought I was on the mend towards the end of last week, but it seems to have got worse over the last couple of days again. I'm off work all this week to revise for exams and it would have been a great time to start again and stop me demolishing the left over Easter chocolate while I studied.

BadPoet · 02/05/2011 21:44

Yawn - shredded, day 5. We had a wonderful time thanks Brian, glorious weather - picnicking and shandy. The only activity was playing around on the beach, does that count? Got back at 7pm tonight, hope I impress with my dedication.

Keepcalm, sorry to hear that. Maybe just a blip? Do you have to get the dr to say it's ok to exercise again?

SuperSal - yes, stay on level 1 forever with me I'm sure the leap from level 1-2 can't be as hard as from zero to 1 can it? You did that, you can do this!

Pat - I'm so impressed at you, you are clearly someone who always fits exercise in. Maybe after the shred it will be second nature to me too.

PureNewWool - how are you?

BadPoet · 03/05/2011 09:51

And shredded, day 6. I definitely need 24 hours between shreds. I did not like doing it last thing last night and first thing this morning!

Brianstorm · 03/05/2011 09:53

That is discipline BadPoet - there is no way I would be doing exercise when just home from a break! Day 7 just finished for me there now, but getting harder again.

KeepCalm - hope you start feeling better soon. My husband has just wrecked his back again over the weekend, and he isn't comfortable doing much more than walking about yet. Feel your pain.

SuperSal - update please!!

Everybody else, where are you??

Brianstorm · 03/05/2011 09:54

X-post!

Brianstorm · 03/05/2011 09:55

And yes, I think 24 hours is needed - I think that's why I've continued just doing it in the mornings while I still can.

Does anybody know what you do once you finish the 30 days? All supposing I get there of course!

BadPoet · 03/05/2011 09:56

But on the plus side, I don't ache any more!

BadPoet · 03/05/2011 09:58

x post again Smile. I don't know what to do after 30 days, I was thinking along the lines of doing the workout 3 times a week or something, mixing up levels but that would get boring I think. Maybe we can start a post-shred thread sometime.

Evening all. Thanks for kind words re: my back - it's much better today, but I'm going to take it easy for a few days so I don't risk any further damage. I don't need to go back to the docs I don't think BadPoet but trying to be sensible. I think I had a bit of a relapse because I was not looking after myself while drinking pimms all day on Friday being careful once it started getting better.

That's great that you don't ache anymore BadPoet - I can't even imagine post one week 30 days Grin

Supersal - that happens to me with the alarm all the time! Sorry to hear about your electricity; we had a power cut a month or so ago right at tea time. Complete nightmare. Is it back on now?

Fingers crossed it's just a fuse!

PatTheHammer · 03/05/2011 22:45

Right, sorry for the silence I have been busy designing your personalised shred certificates;-)
seriously....... Don't know what happens at the end but I think the bad news is that you do have to keep doing it I'm afraid but maybe not as often! Perhaps we can find a big picture of jillian, print it out and dance on it.

Anyway, shredded this evening and I tried level three for the hell of it! The good news Is that it is far better than level 2, although it has got some hard moves. Think I will alternate between 3 and 1 now and leave 2 well alone unless I want the knees of an 80 year old!

Got a boot-camp class tomorrow so won't shred till Thursday, keep it up ladies:-)

BadPoet · 04/05/2011 09:56

Shredded, day 7. I am finding the strength moves harder now Confused, the cardio is fine and I can do the abs apart from the last circuit where I sometimes cheat and pause. Am therefore not sure about level 2.

Thanks Pat, that's very good of you, I will be collecting my certificate in approx 4 weeks! Good luck with bootcamp.

Supersal - nightmare! How's the dishwasher now?

Keepcalm - glad it's a bit better!

Brianstorm - fully expect you will have posted by the time I finish this Grin. Feel free to skip a day so I can catch up if not, get on with it!

KeepCalmAndCarryOnMNing · 04/05/2011 09:57

Well done BadPoet - I'm feeling loads better today. Hurrah!
