More space for us to talk about our progress on the C25K programme, the highs, the lows, the hills, the rain, our pelvic floors and our choice of running music!

All are welcome on this international thread, stay with us and enjoy success Grin

Hello :)

Can I join in please? I have done running before (have done C25K for the past couple of years and even managed to do a 10K race last summer) but the last running I did was August 1st last year Blush.

So have dusted off the trainers and ipod and put my Robert Ullerey podcast back on it again and just did Week 2. Body seems OK although hope I don't have any weird aches tomorrow.

Am going to try and do the Jane Tomlinson York 10k which I think is at the end of July this year. Am nearly single parent now (H moves out in a couple of weeks) and feel that doing some running will be a Good Thing.

Will read the thread now :)

LawrieMarlow · 09/04/2011 19:00

Have read thread :)

I did order the 30 Day Shred DVD at Christmas. It is still unopened in its box Blush. Will do it one day Grin

sybilfaulty · 09/04/2011 19:04

Welcome Lawrie, good to see you.

We are all at different stages, but all giving it our best shot.

Have you found the team songs yet?

No running for me today or tomorrow as I need to go to panty old work. But next week there will be no stopping me. At least in theory.

Keep on running everyone.

LawrieMarlow · 09/04/2011 19:25

Xanaudu :)

Need to keep at this so I can get back to my own music - don't know if anyone else uses the Robert Ullerey podcast but his music is not quite my taste. Need to be told when to stop and start for now though.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/04/2011 22:38

Hello Lawrie - love the name! I'd like to think of myself as Rowan Grin

Am hopefully going tomorrow after my splat. My left knee is black and blue and totally beautiful! But it has been sore even going downstairs so we shall see!

Yes to Xanadu - my DC put the Benny Hill theme tune on mine when I asked them to find me inspirational music!! Did make me laugh.

I have various similar names (do a bit of name changing but recently all on the Antonia Forest theme) but someone else has got Rowan Grin.

Think I would like to be Miranda. And do have that name in reserve :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/04/2011 09:55

Have you been Thalia Keith ? I have seen that one!

OP posts:
LawrieMarlow · 10/04/2011 16:53

I have been ThaliaKeith :) And a few others.

Must go running tomorrow. Maybe I will be enthusiastic and go early tomorrow morning before DH goes to work. Children's holidays are nice but means I can't run when they are at school.

Hello runners old and new,

Piste hope you got out today, and dubai, that you are travelling safely.

Well I was in a foul mood this morning, especially when I couldn't find my ipod (last seen on the plane on Friday in ds2's hands grrrr). Dh had announced he was going to be watching the golf all afternoon so I took myself off to the Park. Instead of turning left where I normally do I kept going just to see how far I could get...and guess what, I ended up going all the way - 6.03 miles/9740 metres + 500 metres from the entrance to the park to joining the loop Grin. I am now officially shattered, and going for a bath Smile. I was thinking of you lot all the way round, and that (and Mr Blue Sky) kept me going. I deliberately didn't time myself (Dh can do it in just under an hour and I didn't want to compete), and it certainly wasn't fast (or pretty), but I can't believe I did it!

sybilfaulty · 10/04/2011 20:26

Bloody hell, midtowner, that's a 10k! Respect to you my dear for your perseverance. Am hugely impressed.

Sorry abou the knee, Piste. Hope you feel better soon.

Keep on running everyon.

midtowner · 10/04/2011 21:14

Thank you sybil. There was some serious teeth gritting towards the end Grin, and once I got to the end there was no way I could have jogged/ran another step (though I had to walk all the way home).

How are your dc's? Hope they are feeling better.

W7R1 done!

I can run for 25 minutes! Grin

Amazing. This is my second 25 minuter - the first was a bit of a killer, especially the first ten minutes or so, but this one felt better. More natural, and easier Grin

midtowner - awesome! Well done! Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/04/2011 22:24

Lots and lots to celebrate! Well done everyone.

Yay! Well done Kate.

I can barely move Grin.

ClenchedBottom · 10/04/2011 23:48

wowee fantabulous progress everyone, well done!

Well, I am back! - Catalogue of minor but enough-to-make-running-impossible style illnesses has completely knackered my original schedule, I think I would have done the 9 weeks by now. Anyway, today I just went for it, and rather than being sensible and repeating yet another W4 run I did W5 R1, as I've been sooooooo desperate to start W5! And it was ok - knackering, hot, sweaty and unglamorous sort of ok, but still ok, I got through it. Interestingly, the first 2 mins of running were the worst, as I found myself thinking. "I just can't do this, I'll never manage to run for 5 mins let alone do it 3 times" but then it sort of settled down - a new experience for me.

Anyway, it's great to be back. I'm off on a course for the next few days, then visiting family, so it will be interesting to see how that all works out!

but anyway, happy running to you all.

midtowner · 11/04/2011 00:29

Well done clenched! Hope you can fit some running in while you are away!

SluttySlutSlutOfTheSkies · 11/04/2011 17:04

Fabulastic midtowner, Calamity and Clenched - gold medals all round for you three!

Hello Lawrie!

I'm off out at 6.30 on W4R2 ...

SluttySlutSlutOfTheSkies · 11/04/2011 19:52

Jings sah help mah boab, I am knackered! That was really HARD. My little legs were protesting a lot during the last 5 min run, in fact I felt quite disheartened as did my running buddy. We keep wondering, 'are we doing it right?' But we chatted about it on the way home and cheered ourselves up thinking back to W1 when we thought we couldn't manage that.

I still love it though Grin

supersal the Shred as well? I am exhausted just thinking about the Shred! I'd give it a go but I am so unco-ordinated it is laughable and I truly wouldn't be able to follow it. Due to the Dodgy Knee Fiasco, we are on W4R2, start W5 Friday, what do you do on W5R1 then pray tell? I have heard that on W5 you jump from 8mins to 20mins at some point, but surely that must be a Big Fat Lie? Grin

Grin supersal, I like the sound of this Shred malarkey but not sure my floor could stand it - pelvic or otherwise!
