Westministenders: Promises, promises

We should see the party manifestos soon
in 2017, that changed the election

So far, Tory and Labour have been competing for who can offer the most spending on the NHS

Labour have been giving tantalising glimpses of free dental care and free broadband

The Tories have been hinting at tax cuts, as well as public spending

The polls suggest the public like all of the above,
but also that Brexit is the most important issue

25 days to go, still all to play for

They keep mentioning Korea? Why? They are nothing like the UK.

You’re absolutely right - South Korea has the world’s fastest average internet connection speed. So nothing like the UK.

Although I suspect that’s not what you mean Smile

Peregrina · 17/11/2019 23:44

Interestingly South Korea's population is 51 million, which is bigger than I expected.

DoctorTwo · 17/11/2019 23:45

Hello again @CendrillonSings why should I vote for the shower of cunts who made me homeless, whose 'assessments' cured my wheelchair bound friend of Spina Bifida, and who cured my ex girlfriend of the heart disease that killed her?

I don't mind asking every thread until you answer. You won't, of course, because there's no excusing cuntery.

Peregrina · 17/11/2019 23:48

I am mystified as to why a 22 year old would vote Tory - they offer so little to them. Unless he's a young fogey.

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2019 23:50

Or a spiv.

Jason118 · 17/11/2019 23:58

Or possibly imaginary Grin

Apileofballyhoo · 18/11/2019 00:05

Or has enough sense to tell his parent he's voting Tory rather than get into an argument/disowned.

Dusty01 · 18/11/2019 00:09

The Arcuri documentary on ITV tonight was interesting. Very revealing and damning.

I wonder whether it will have any effect on the way Boris is perceived and on this election.

Apileofballyhoo · 18/11/2019 00:10

The Acuri programme is using the word relationship left, right and centre. There's no 'alleged' or anything like it.

Icantreachthepretzels · 18/11/2019 00:13

Arcuri is going to be on 'This Morning' tomorrow as well - the ending of that doc showed that in the past few months she has definitely changed her tune since most of it was filmed. It will be interesting to see what she says tomorrow - though I fear it won't change the minds of those who support Boris.

It's only those that already know he is a shit that will care. The only hope is that we are, in fact, more numerous than the MSM ever lets on.

AutumnCrow · 18/11/2019 00:15

Yes, the Exposure programme pulled no punches by the end. 'Affair.' 'Lover.' 'Conflict of interest.'

tobee · 18/11/2019 00:18

But is it relationship ~ business
or is it relationship ~nudge, nudge ?

tobee · 18/11/2019 00:18

That was to Apileof

tobee · 18/11/2019 00:19

Oh x post with Autumn. Can you give context of those words please?

tobee · 18/11/2019 00:29

Ooh just found this in twitter which made me lol

Liberal Democrats pledge 500% council tax rise for people who keep houses empty

Thats a good policy fair play

AutumnCrow · 18/11/2019 00:38

@tobee it was the Exposure journalist John Ware's narrative commentary

tobee · 18/11/2019 00:42

Ah right thanks Autumn

Peregrina · 18/11/2019 00:44

Is Arcuri going to change her story and pretend she didn't mean all that. A bit like Carrie - at one stage having violent rows which led the neighbours to call the Police and now pretending that it's all lovey dovey.

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/11/2019 01:18

PMK

mathanxiety · 18/11/2019 03:02

Thank you BCF.

borntobequiet · 18/11/2019 05:30

Comparing S Korea and UK.

www.indexmundi.com/factbook/compare/south-korea.united-kingdom
Not terribly similar but net migration rates the same. Also SK nearly 20% Protestant which really did surprise me.

Danetobe · 18/11/2019 05:50

A lifelong Tory voter I know (a remainer and baby boomer - for context) and voting for Labour this time round. They think John McDonnell 'talks sense'. Fingers crossed many will follow. (As an aside they live in a Tory/lib dem marginal so I'm now having to try to pursuade them to vote tactically for lib dem 🙄)

Danetobe · 18/11/2019 05:53

I think it's because after 9 years of brutal austerity it's finally hitting the solid middle classes like them.
