So Macron may end up being the one who gets the UK what it wants but is doing it to be tough on us. I'm not sure I understand EU politics.

I am often grateful for the transatlantic time difference. I get time to catch up while waiting in the school pick up line, often politics is still in full throttle. I'd sleep through half of it in the UK.

Macron was talked down last time, hopefully he can be again.

Can anyone explain the rationale of a short extension? We'd still need to vote in the EP elections and have seats allocated to us because, theoretically at least, we could revoke A50 at any point during the extension.

Fluffy No E27 leaders so far have said they don't want any extension.

So I'd expect we get at least to 22 May - which would avoid the EP feeling abused

Strange if the UK press criticise him for for not giving long enough,
