Not much more to say other than, all we can do is wait to hear our fate.

Which seems to lie in the hands of Macron.

I think these tweet sums a lot of it up from a couple of jaded soft leavers

Iain Martin @ iainmartin1
This terrible farce in Brussels tonight is like being British during the eurovision song contest. British entrant awaits fate, watching humiliating results come in, trying to smile for the audience back home.

George Trefgarne @georgetrefgarne
To be honest I think Buck’s Fizz and Cheryl thingummy would have made a better job of it

My advice: Don't wait up!

Pippa Crerar @pippacrerar
EU source on Macron: "He is in a bit of a schizophrenic situation - (his) domestic audience demands that he is tough on Britain for historic reasons. On the other hand, France is among the most-hit in any no-deal Brexit. It will take hours before we pull him down from his tree."

So Macron may end up being the one who gets the UK what it wants but is doing it to be tough on us. I'm not sure I understand EU politics.

I think marigolds are good as a sacrificial (and pretty Wink) flower to attract black fly (away from broad beans).

Nasturtiums are also supposedly good to attract cabbage white butterflies away from brassicas. Whether they are or aren't, they're pretty Smile

Torygraph lead in which Steve Barclay proposes no deal on 31st May to avoid participating in EU elections.

Tories are really panicking about those EU elections.

We've not had much news from farmers for a while. I think their struggles becoming public was really eye-opening to a lot of leavers. There was a lot of "but they voted for it and told us it would be fine!" from leavers on my fb.

Fishing industry getting increasingly worried as well according to Farming Today reports.
I thought TIG should stick with the TIG brand and was rather hoping for some new, much looser party structure but I suppose there are rules as to how official parties are incorporated - now I have to look that up.

I was thinking it isn't just business that will have lost contracts due to uncertainty. I imagine a lot of Europe have switched produce supplies and won't dip back into our market once they've switched.

Apparently there are concerns that fostered children may struggle to prove citizenship after Brexit.

TiP and woman19 - the Tiggers/ChangeUK application form has a caveat about if they are not accepted as a party - so they must be considering it as a possibility. I'm partly curious to see how far I get. Not told close friends as they'll say I'm mad (health reasons) but I might spend tomorrow afternoon filling the form in and updating my CV.

Go for it, vanity
Most Westministenders would be a lot better informed about the EU than most current politicians !

lonelyplanetmum · 13/04/2019 22:55

Seconding BCF Go for it, vanity.

Catching up...

The JRM - alike I know in RL has a middle name which is not only high Catholic but that of a Jesuit Saint, attended Win Coll and reg. writes to Welby on theological matters. I must ask him about Welby's colleague, I have no doubt he'd be horrified and perhaps could press him on it?.

Interesting side line on this thread!
