Brexit

Does anyone genuinely think that things will continue exactly as they are if we crash out with no deal?

If so, what is your reasoning behind this?

If we crash out, how many months will interruption and problems with supply last, can anyone fathom a guess?

Yes. Many months if not years.

If there is a 3 month extension, does that simply mean that any predicted problems are just being shunted to the end of June instead?

Yes. Unless somehow there is a GE or 2nd referendum. Maybe both?

Shit. Thanks missed - Am asking because I am due to move back with my kids in August. I was hoping the Zombie apocalypse bit might have been done and dusted by then. Not looking good, is it?

bellinisurge · 12/03/2019 06:50

@MissedTheBoatAgain hasn't lived here for 30 years (or in the E.U.). So if you want to listen to people with no vested interest (apart from a bit of property) in the UK, go ahead.

Missedtheboat you're also a criminal, if you voted or if you vote in future.

Why do you capitalise words in a weird way? Are you a native English speaker?

Mistigri · 12/03/2019 07:21

Let's make it clear: Britons who are resident abroad have no right to vote in U.K. elections after 15 years away, regardless of whether they own British property, pay British taxes or have British family. Voting in these circumstances is fraudulent and a criminal offence.

bellinisurge · 12/03/2019 07:29

@MissedTheBoatAgain is a bloke? That explains the constant mansplaining.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 12/03/2019 07:29

Oh, okay. Can anyone else tell me whether they think things will be more settled by August? I won't have had the opportunity to stockpile anything.

bellinisurge · 12/03/2019 07:33

I hope for low level grumbling for a bit @RageAgainstTheVendingMachine if we No Deal. Which may build to more but not immediately. I am concerned it would be much worse much sooner. If WA goes through, it should be ok. With grumbling but not much more.

Yes

What you forget is that the 15 years is not cumulative. Someone could be out of UK for 15 years continuously and then spend a short time in the UK and become resident. If they then left the UK the 15 year clock would start again.
