The pedant in me makes me say the working classes also fought against Mosley - Cable Street being the most famous examples.

Mosley and his cronies were from the upper classes, the Mitfords (not all), some Royalty, and others among the upper classes were all fans of Hitler.

I find some of the parallels with Weimar very disturbing, the media projecting myths as reality, the use of democracy to oppress minorities, populism and the belief that feelings matter more than logic. It is a source of concern and distress to me.

A referendum is a very blunt and not particularly democratic tool when the issue is as complex as our membership of the EU.

No amount of mental gymnastics or pseudo intellectual blather changes the fact that basically you don't see yourself as one of the people but as one of those who should allow or disallow the people their vote. You are simply an elitist snob.

That yellow vest mob led by James Goddard were filmed yesterday abusing the police outside Parliament as well, with Goddard telling a black officer that he 'wasn't even British'. And several female journalists (Kay Burley, Dawn Foster) have said that the group threatened to rape them.

These are just EDL thugs looking for a fight.

Neither you nor the link can explain why she - partly- deserves to have nazi chanted at her by a bunch of racist thugs.

I think she was very naughty to call those nice EDL gentlemen racists. They are not racists- they just think only Anglo Saxon people should like in England. Perfectly reasonable.

Well, i don't get the point you are trying to make?

You seem to be saying that Soubry indirectly calling a group of people racists and fascists, some justifies a crowd of men surrounding her up close and personal, shouting and chanting insults.

This in the light of the Jo Cox murder and as i said earlier anyone could have stabbed at her or thrown acid and by the time the Police had reacted, it would all be too late.

MPs of all persuasions need to be protected from physical abuse, heckling from a distance is a different matter entirely.
