There's a deal.

The press are over excited.

May has united the country.

Everyone hates it.
(Apart from David Allen Green)

Parliament might yet reject it.

Nothing is yet decided and everything is still to be sorted.

I think there are also a few slimy careerist MPs, with even less ability than ex-ministers, who think that holding on to TM for dear life is their best chance of a promotion.

I wish Sky News would stop saying it would be a vote for a leadershiop contest
FAKE NEWS

It would be a vote on whether to sack May as leader
If she stays, then no leadership contest

ERG split???

So, you get a bunch of venal, thick, posh-twatted, self-serving gits into a club, and wonder why they never trust each other ?

If the ERG have a motto, it's "every man for himself", not "all for one".

Masculine slant (in this case) very much intended.

www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/nov/15/uk-backup-power-subsidies-illegal-european-court-capacity-market?CMP=twt_gu
UK's backup power subsidies are illegal, European court rules

Surprise judgment means government must halt capacity market scheme

The UK’s scheme for ensuring power supplies during the winter months has been suspended after a ruling by the European court of justice that it constitutes illegal state aid.

Payments under the capacity market scheme will be halted until the government can win permission from the European commission to restart it.

The scheme hands tens of millions of pounds a month to owners of coal and gas power stations so that the plants are kept on standby ready to provide emergency back-up in times of high demand. It started operating last year to ensure electricity for businesses and homes is available at peak times in winter.

Would you like some ammunition to kill off the deal some more? Amazing timing.

Having been watching the HoC debate on SKY, the UK is doomed!
Only about half of the questions asked suggest that the members asking the questions have bothered following ANY of the other discussions for the last 2 years. So many references to 'taking back borders' and similarly debunked stuff, absolutely shocking.
Mrs May is doing a decent job of speaking, shame most of it is going to trash the UK and the only sentence I haven't heard yet is 'This lady is not for turning'.
Scottish members are banging on about fish, an industry that brings in less revenue than the contribution to the EU. Didn't someone note than most UK caught fish is actually sold to the EU anyway as the UK is not a great 'fish eater'?
RTB, It looks like a new thread a day is coming on!

A split is emerging in the ERG - some putting in letters, others wanting to vote down the deal in Parliament...

Amazing. They appear to be going for option 3 - a combo of option 1 and 2.

@puttingthegenieback I still just do not not not not NOT understand why she is so adamant that there will not be a second referendum

Because she has to be seen to be stubbornly and stalwartly carrying out the will of the people, while actually herding the people themselves into such an uproar in support of another vote that it won't be her, or her party's, fault when we have to have another vote. It's all just theatre.

I mean, how can she possibly stubbonly keep saying that 'no brexit' isn't an option when she expressly mentioned it as an option last night? Theatre - or pantomime really.

plaidlife · 15/11/2018 13:15

I spent two years living in a developing country, fine at the top, live in maids, drivers, houses the size of UK streets. Obviously you need armed guards around your houses, guards at your school, money to pay of police you meet but really a comfortable life. For people at the bottom with dirt floors, no safe drinking water, little medication or schooling it looked pretty rubbish. The country I lived got so fed up they have just voted in an extreme left leader.
I can't imagine why we would vote to destabilize our economy.
I am currently living in the US, another country where the poor are very poor, with limited access to food and medicine.

Can't see the Tories wanting a new PM but who knows? they certainly seem intent on self destruct.

A hardliner ERG type PM isn't going to unify the Tories let alone Parliament.
