There's a deal.

The press are over excited.

May has united the country.

Everyone hates it.
(Apart from David Allen Green)

Parliament might yet reject it.

Nothing is yet decided and everything is still to be sorted.

Guardian is reporting a tweet saying Gove has been offered Raab's job.
A while back I'd have thought that may have been a good thing as his ideas are usually universally disliked and most don't make it pass falling out of his mouth. But we don't have time for this shit now Sad

DGRossetti · 15/11/2018 13:18

A hardliner ERG type PM isn't going to unify the Tories let alone Parliament.

They might after a HoC vote fail.

Aren't most of the fishing fleets in the UK Danish or Dutch owned? Surely as long as the fishermen get paid good secure wages and a safe (as possible) working environment the actual 'ownership' is rather less important?

If you are wondering why she won't hold a 2nd referendum:

Most voters are more like our recent visitor than they are like other Westministenders
They can't / don't understand the issues and don't attempt to

A Peoples Vote for No Deal would not be politically possible to ignore
She's trying to keep options open
and let the slightly less ignorant voters in the HoC decide

Or of course, the nuclear option, if she indeed is able to revoke
but that would destroy her party

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 13:22

Also, if the EU think the next govt in a couple of years would just invoke A50 again, they won't accept remain

The UK is toxic atm

If Gove gets a deal through parliament, he'd be on track to be PM as he'll have proven he can unite the party...

(The downside)

May has been consistent in HoC:
No revoke
No delay of A50
No 'peoples vote'.
UK IS leaving.
Very much 'this is the plan and this is it'.

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 13:26

When you find yourself thinking of Gove as the least dreadful option
you know your are screwed

Robert Peston @Peston
@michaelgove would be nuts to take Brexit Secretary job. It is the ultimate poisoned chalice. And there is no politician alive who knows more about those.

But Robert, the temptation... oh the temptation...

...You are asking the wrong question? Is he arrogant enough to think he can pull it off?

Labour MP just asked about Brady meeting with chief whip atm. She told it wasn't about the current debate.

I think we have established that we are well past the 'we are screwed' point of no return.

He has just learned that the Irish Border isn't a breed of dog !

RedToothBrush · 15/11/2018 13:32

ANd the debate is over.

What happens next????

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 13:34

It wasn't a debate; it was a debacle

Raab to me: Repeatedly backs May in No 10. “I support this prime minister but we need to change course on Brexit” > he’s still in ‘change the policy not the leader’. Fellow Brexiteers have turned the page

BigChocFrenzy · 15/11/2018 13:35

Next:

Do the ERG show they have no ovaries and fail the 48 letter threshold
or do Tory MPs have a vote on whether to sack their leader ... and our PM
