.......would you vote the same as you did originally?

The Independent is trying to get behind a final vote on the deal- yes, no , full reverse kind of thing.

We all need to have a voice on what happens in the end. Because it is increasingly clear that an deal we do get will be a bad one. Even Rees- Mogg admits that but doesn’t care because he’ll make a killing in the process.

Food retailer to the bbc
"There simply isn't any spare slack in the supply chain to do this. There are no slightly-under-packed lorries or empty warehouses available to do this at scale.
To suggest it could even be done if required is incredibly naive."

Oh dear the stockpiling or asking businesses to ensure there is adequate supplies of food in the event of a no deal or no CU deal going well then !

Quietrebel · 26/07/2018 09:49

MissSusan, thanks! It's already over 150K sigs
I've also shared the link on another thread.

frumpety · 26/07/2018 09:49

One question to Leave voters on here , why do you think the government is planning on stockpiling ? We are a G7 country in peacetime, no natural disaster that we are aware of looming, so why the need to stockpile ?

MissSusanSays · 26/07/2018 09:55

Thanks quietrebel

I’ve donned my flame proof jacket and started a thread on AIBU. Any help to boost it into active would be appreciated.

Thanks both. Fingers crossed. Actually, I’m probably at the point of sacrificing a goat on a full moon, wearing nothing but a feathered hat to whatever deity will guarantee that this shit show won’t happen.

And no one in my village needs to see that. So let’s try this first.

You see if you had posted two photos of yourself in different outfits and asked which you should wear whilst signing said petition it could have stayed in AIBU , tut !

Talkstotrees · 26/07/2018 10:21

AIBU to wonder why Mumsnet buried that thread?

frumpety · 26/07/2018 10:22

Betterer still mentioned that your DM had commented that one outfit made your bottom look huge !

Rosstac · 26/07/2018 10:23

Let me know if it gets above 17.4 million and then perhaps it can be taken seriously

frumpety · 26/07/2018 10:26

Rosstac why do you think the government is talking about stockpiling ?

Helmetbymidnight · 26/07/2018 10:30

I think rosstac is of the ‘oh yes I knew it would be very shit for several years but our grandchildren will be ever so grateful.’ Type of brexiteer.

Rosstac · 26/07/2018 10:31

Yes, have a vote on the final deal, accept TM deal or a no deal, we’ve already had the vote to leave

Rosstac · 26/07/2018 10:33

Because if they didn’t, you would moan that they haven’t, if they do nothing the EU will no the U.K. will accept any deal

MissSusanSays · 26/07/2018 10:36

I love the grandchildren analogy. What you’re really saying is ‘See, I’m not a total monster. I do hope that after my children have a truamtic, difficult existence through my own stubborness, that my grand children get to have a quality of life almost as good as the one I enjoy. Aren’t I caring.’

Quietrebel · 26/07/2018 10:37

The way other countries manage referendums is by producing a clear plan AHEAD of the vote so that it is indeed a binary choice. Not doing that is either irresponsible or pure divisive manipulation of the people.

MissSusanSays · 26/07/2018 10:40

Rosstac

So, your choice for us would be bad deal or nothing.

A Hobson’s Choice indeed!

frumpety · 26/07/2018 10:43

Rosstac are you ignoring my question or did you miss it ? Stockpiling , why do you think the government are suggesting it to businesses ?

Rosstac · 26/07/2018 10:43

Quietrebel How can you have a clear plan ahead on this issue, you have to negotiate with EU, A50 doesn’t give clear guidance on the terms you would be leaving on, ( stupidly) you can’t go to The EU to negotiate before the vote as they know the worse deal they give the more likely to be rejected

jasjas1973 · 26/07/2018 10:46

Yes, have a vote on the final deal, accept TM deal or a no deal, we’ve already had the vote to leave

We had a vote in 1973, we chose to join, therefore why was there ever another vote? cant you accept the Will of the people???? or is it only to be accepted when it suits you?

People are allowed to change their minds, its why we have GE every 5 years and not once a century.

You should have confidence in your argument that you can win any final deal vote but you dont do you? because like most people, you are too proud and stubborn to accept you are wrong, so cling to the straw in your mind that you cannot possibly be wrong.

Peregrina · 26/07/2018 10:47

ButRosstac we were promised all these other deals which would make up for the loss of EU business. There should be a plan for obtaining them.
