Good news yesterday < gets out green highlighter >
Still work to be done but it’s another step in the right direction.

Wine

Ps: completely given up on the Brexit Arms as it’s been taken over by remainers.
This is our chilled out place to post on in the run up to March 2019.

Positive people only Smile

Mummy it matters not one jot what DD says - it is what is actually agreed that matters. That will be based on following the rules, adhering to international law and ending up just where we are currently, but with less democratic input for the UK and a bigger bill.

Devilishpyjamas · 25/03/2018 16:17

So surferjet would you see being poorer (as that seems to be something pretty much everyone agrees on - our economy is going to be hit hard) as a positive?

mummmy2017 · 25/03/2018 16:22

Funny all the paper's. Both side are not calling him out for lying ....
The BBC is reporting what he is saying. And going with it...
But your so in the know ... that everyone else bar about five MN posters is wrong...
Do tell what jobs do you do....

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 16:24

mummmy it's literally pointless arguing with your vacuous comments.

You refuse to revert to facts, only relying on emotions.

Pop back when the u-turn on SM/CU has happened and tell us how wonderful everything is.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/03/2018 16:27

David Davies is trying to keep leavers sweet, so he’ll tell you what you want to hear. Same as an estate agent or second hand car salesman.

mummmy2017 · 25/03/2018 16:28

CBNC the USA channel are running the story as well...
OMG DD is conning the USA now as well.

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 16:31

The USA don't give a toss about us.

The media are reporting what was said- that's not the forum for critiquing it.

Where comments are made, they are not favourable, other than those of your fellow delusional swivel eyed loons.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/03/2018 16:32

Nah, the only losers here are British citizens.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/03/2018 16:33

Conned by Brexit.

mummmy2017 · 25/03/2018 16:34

Or your wrong.. hey it can happen...

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 16:35

What can happen mummmy?

A technological border by next year or even the end of 2020?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/03/2018 16:35

If you are so fixated on the government being right and delivering a brilliant Brexit what do you think of the impact assessment report?

JWIM · 25/03/2018 16:36

Did DD say that the Irish border issue had been solved and the solution agreed by the EU27?

If he didn't then it hasn't been agreed.

To be clear, DD has confirmed that moving to discussing the 'post leaving' EU27/UK arrangements does still depend on reaching agreement on a solution to the Irish border.

Doubletrouble99 · 25/03/2018 16:38

Just because the government have looked into all the pros and cons of Brexit but haven't told all you remainers exactly how it will work and how it will be implemented doesn't mean it hasn't been discussed. All these things are hardly going to be in the public domain.

I was going to post the other day about some positives from Brexit but when I read Bear again using stupid and idiots to describe leavers yet again I decided there really was no point. I have no intention of coming on here to be ridiculed. Because that is exactly what happens when a leaver makes any suggestions as to their thoughts on the matter.
We are not all wondering why we voted leave and regretting it. On the contrary we are just waiting as the process takes it's course.

Mother - the idea that the government haven't even tried to look at different high tech solutions for the NI border is just ridiculous. Why on earth do you think there is no plan? Where on earth do you get that idea from? Just because they haven't told you about it doesn't mean there isn't one.

Then of course there's Bear who poo hoos everything the governments says - because of course you can't trust politicians as they will tell you anything you want to hear! So how does that work in these circumstances where they are negotiating with the EU? Do they tell the EU a load of tosh too? Pray tell me how it works.

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 16:42

Do they tell the EU a load of tosh too?

Yes, it's rather the problem we have now.

It's exactly why we have agreed a solution on NI.

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 16:42

^^ Haven't agreed a solution.

mummmy2017 · 25/03/2018 16:50

A man who is paid to travel to the EU comes on TV and gives info to a program that is well respected and we have to just take the word of the MN 5 instead....
Wow..keep taking the pills love... they are not working yet..

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 16:50

I was going to post the other day about some positives from Brexit but when I read Bear again using stupid and idiots to describe leavers yet again I decided there really was no point

How convienient Hmm

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 16:53

the idea that the government haven't even tried to look at different high tech solutions for the NI border is just ridiculous. Why on earth do you think there is no plan? Where on earth do you get that idea from?

Er, maybe because things like that can't be kept secret. It would be public knowledge because planning consents, tenders etc would be public.

It would actually be in our interest to disclose what we were doing to make a tech border a reality; it would make us look serious, not like bluffing buffoons.

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 16:55

A man who is paid to travel to the EU comes on TV and gives info to a program that is well respected and we have to just take the word of the MN 5 instead

What info did he give mummmy?

It was more waffle to pacify the likes of you who have no desire to dig deeper than the headlines.

Saying something isn't destined to fail because it doesn't exist so we don't know yet, is hardly concrete information.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 25/03/2018 17:01

I am still waiting to hear what these mysterious positives are.

surferjet · 25/03/2018 17:02

But bear, you lap up anything the guardian throws at you - if it’s in the guardian you treat it like the word of god.
Reality check.
Pro remain MP’s are capable of lying & saying anything to keep your blood pressure up.
It’s all a game really.

Moussemoose · 25/03/2018 17:05

Yes surfer we know politicians of all colours lie that is why we ask for references.

JWIM · 25/03/2018 17:06

I come back to the point that it is the change in the status of the border on the Island of Ireland that is the breach of the GFA/BA/peace agreement. No amount of technical/technological/away from the physical border infrastructure/bureaucracy addresses the fundamental breach of that international peace treaty. Unless the border remains unchanged in status ie that the SM/CU continues uninterrupted the treaty is breached.

It really is that straightforward. Did DD say anything about an agreed by all parties to the Treaty solution?

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 17:07

I rarely read the Guardian surfer

Links I post are generally from the independent, and are reporting what was said, just as the comments DD made were.

The thing is DD didn't actually say anything tangible.

Can you honestly defend a comment which basically says 'you can't say this won't work as it doesn't actually exist yet so we don't know'?
