Good news yesterday < gets out green highlighter >
Still work to be done but it’s another step in the right direction.

Wine

Ps: completely given up on the Brexit Arms as it’s been taken over by remainers.
This is our chilled out place to post on in the run up to March 2019.

Positive people only Smile

It's like walking into the women's institute and wanting a conversation on football

That's unbelievably patronising surfer.

There are obvious examples, like mummmy where there is clearly a massive knowledge gap, but a lot of posters on here are perfectly capable of having a detailed discussion on Brexit, if only Leavers would engage.

I also recall a comment you made yesterday about us all be 'middle aged housewives'

Speak for yourself if you wish but don't tar us all with the same brush.

Moussemoose · 25/03/2018 11:54

You’ll get a bit of chat but nothing substantial

Irony alert!!!

Well if you want something substantial please make a point, reference it and we can have a debate pleeeessseeee.

BrandySchnapps · 25/03/2018 11:55

Looks down. Hmm

Comprehension fail from DGRossetti (not unexpected...)

Surfer didn't erase your maleness - worry not!

She said:

"They are very few men or under 25’s on MN,"

Thereby acknowledging that men exist on MN, just not in the same numbers as women do - ergo, MN is not representative of the UK wide demographic.

BertrandRussell · 25/03/2018 11:55

“You’ll get a bit of chat but nothing substantial.”

I am desperate for a substantial discussion with leave voters which explained to me exactly what the UK will gain from leaving. I hav been hoping for this for the past two years. I really want to be able to be hopeful about it.

I still remember a poster (who is actually on this thread) saying on the day of the referendum that she was “walking on air” and when I asked specifically what she thought was going to happen that was good she said that she didn’t know but she trusted our leaders. There doesn’t seem to have been much change,

Devilishpyjamas · 25/03/2018 12:04

You’ll get a bit of chat but nothing substantial

So provide something substantial. I only asked for examples of positives that had been identified in this thread. Even that seems tricky to respond to. Let alone anything substantial.

:drums fingers:

surferjet · 25/03/2018 12:06

Yes BertrandRussell that was me.
& I still trust our leaders.

Devilishpyjamas · 25/03/2018 12:08

Christ.

You trust TM? She’s hardly the brightest lamp in the street.

I suppose it is easier to be positive if you believe the so-obviously-clueless in charge know what they’re doing.

BrandySchnapps · 25/03/2018 12:15

You trust TM? She’s hardly the brightest lamp in the street.

She's done a sterling job of uniting international & EU support re the poisoning; also has secured the transition agreement & Brexit negotiations are moving onto the 3rd stage now.

I trust her far, far more than I would trust Agent Cob et al.

surferjet · 25/03/2018 12:18

I’m shocked at how many brilliant political minds are on this thread and not in government. Why are you wasting your talents? You could obviously all do a better job than TM or anyone else involved in Brexit, so god knows what you’re doing on here all day everyday.

Oh what’s that I hear? .......I think it’s an empty vessel making a massive noise.

OP posts:
bearbehind · 25/03/2018 12:22

surfer, people don't have to be in politics to be interested and to be able to discuss the facts.

Your biggest problem is you are putting all your faith in people who have done nothing to earn it.

You'll be punished for that when you realise you're not getting anything you wanted from Leave

surferjet · 25/03/2018 12:30

Tbh Bear, as long as we don’t literally float off into the ocean & sink - resulting in the death of every U.K. citizen - Brexit will be a success.

OP posts:
bearbehind · 25/03/2018 12:40

Glad you've set your sights so high surfer

It's good that it's all going to be so worthwhile Hmm

You are TM's dream supporter- zero expectations and pathetically grateful for being able to wave the Leave flag.

DGRossetti · 25/03/2018 12:50

I'm really warming to the idea of sortition ...

BertrandRussell · 25/03/2018 12:51

Surferjet. Please could you say 3 things that will be better post brexit.

surferjet · 25/03/2018 12:54

No bear - it’s remainers who set the bar.
We’re going to fall off a cliff, it’s a disaster, we’re all going to be poorer, sicker, the laughing stock of the world, bla bla bla.
So, providing we don’t self destruct on 28/3/19 - Brexit will be a success - & the rest of Europe will consider Brexit a success.

OP posts:
Moussemoose · 25/03/2018 13:27

Brexit will be a success and the reason is because you say so.

You want to leave the EU at any cost, and anything apart from Armageddon would be considered a success. To you.

I will in all probability be ok after Brexit, my concern is for the poor, the regions the left behind who wanted changed but may well have secured their fate. It's a tragedy.

KennDodd · 25/03/2018 13:41

So a Leavers measure of whether Brexit is a success or not, is if not everybody dies?

What's your measure of failure? Serious question.

surferjet · 25/03/2018 13:44

my concern is for the poor

Aka - those thick racists who voted leave

Depending on what conversation remain are having.

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 25/03/2018 13:48

But presumably you don't think like that, surferjet. What benefits are you expecting to come from Brexit? How will your life be better?

ODFO with the sea loins.

I've no idea why you think it's trolling to ask Brexit related questions on a Brexit thread, in the EU referendum section of this website.

It make you look more than a bit foolish.

bearbehind · 25/03/2018 13:53

Lion not loin!

BertrandRussell · 25/03/2018 14:01

Oh, it's a sea lion!
I was going to offer to go and get my club...
