There was no plan laid out before the British public just a continual erosion of our sovereignty, economic independence and National Identity. I was not happy with that and am absolutely staggered that you cannot and continue to refuse to see what a problem that was not just for me but for 17 million people. Are you not bothered by that? In order to answer whether I'm bothered or whether I care, I need to understand how you perceive our sovereignty, national identity and economic independence is being eroded within the EU and how it will change outside the EU.

In the interests of the discussion I won't pursue the fact you played the bully card yet again rather than answering in the last thread.

Could you give us some examples of this erosion please?

The EU’s chief Brexit negotiator has said he wants to secure easy access to the City of London for countries in the bloc, in the first sign of a softer stance.

Michel Barnier reportedly told MEPs that he wanted a “special” relationship between the 27 remaining EU countries and Britain’s financial centre after Brexit.

"The comments chime with warnings by Mark Carney, the Bank of England governor, who said this week that the EU’s financial stability is more at risk from Brexit than the UK"

Michel Barnier has corrected the Guardian over its article "EU negotiator wants 'special' deal over access to City post-Brexit" - he tweeted:

"When asked on equivalence I said: EU would need special vigilance on financial stability risk, not special deal to access the City @guardian"

Your post about sovereignty, economic independence and national identity was just patriotic rhetoric that you can't even begin to defend.

I have never seen you even attempt to justify those comments; any attempt by other posters, like surfers yesterday has always resulted in more hyperbole.

Surely if you feel strongly enough to make those points and say 'you are staggered I can't see the problem' you could actually give a few examples.

You look rather foolish saying things that you can't support which includes saying I don't own my own shit.

You may not like or agree with my posts but I don't think you'll find any I haven't or couldn't back up my opinion, unlike you.

He's perfect - Trump isn't exactly supportive of the EU. Neither is Putin. Now there's a coincidence...

Well, in a sense the US is pretty close to the EU - a federal superstate bringing together many different individual states, which have the ability to have quite different laws in some cases. Which is why we have the massive differences between, say, California and Texas.

Funnily enough, both California and Texas have been mooted as breakaway states - Calexit and Texit.

I see after all the doom laden prophecy from Carney last year that he now says Brexit is no longer biggest risk to financial stability. Where's his apology?

Looking forward to hearing the PM's speech on Tuesday wherein it's thought she will say that if necessary we are prepared to leave the customs union and secure free trade deals elsewhere, regain full control of borders and no longer be bound by European Court of Justice rulings after Brexit. Works for me.
