Can we laugh or cry yet?

Are you still sane?

Will this insanity ever end?

Time for some laughs....

I can't get a link just to the video, but find the Green Party Video of 5 year olds acting out British Politics.

I think we need that, at this point as a Gove antibiotics.

So scary - I hope this is part of a longer term strategy that they've cooked up to ensure him losing the leadership vote and disappearing under the radar for a few years/forever

JAB2012 · 01/07/2016 11:59

I have been following his thread. Thank you all for your insights. I have just listened to Gove and am now even more depressed than I was last week if that's possible. He praised Carney and last week he said people have had enough of experts. God almighty. Everything Carney predicted has come true.
Please someone tell me Gove will not get the backing he needs. I need hope!

"I have a clear vision of what our future must look like"

Is he a messianic crackpot? A time traveller?

DoinItFine · 01/07/2016 12:04

The economy seems to be holding up well, in the short term at least.

DoinItFine · 01/07/2016 12:05

Is he a messianic crackpot?

Um, yes.

We wish he was a time traveller.

Then there would be a chance of a Terminator coming back to take him out.

My mistake one is still there somewhere.

howabout · 01/07/2016 12:12

Gove pledging £100m per week extra for NHS by 2020. That's less than the £8 bn the Tories pledged at the last election pre Brexit.

GO dropping his pledge to balance the books by 2020 today. Convenient to blame Brexit when he was nowhere near to target regardless.

RedToothBrush · 01/07/2016 12:12

James Landale ‎@BBCJLandale
Tory leadership battle lines clearer: Gove the radical reformer versus May the safe pair of hands

Note to Gove:
This is the CONSERVATIVE party.

Oh I missed Gove's speech!

I take it he was a wanker - not sure I can be asked to listen to him online as slightly hungover and may throw up if I hear his voice

MaterofDragons · 01/07/2016 12:16

He needs some facial hair to pull off the messianic look. I agree with the pp re: 1930s germany look.

I think he's just a crackpot who needs to have his afternoon nap reinstated. Might put an end to his delusions if he's not so overtired. "Sarah...Mikey needs to be out down".

HemanOrSheRa · 01/07/2016 12:22

I missed most of it Show (thank goodness). I hate his botox smooth, shiney face.

I work in local government in a labour stronghold. We are already running on fumes from the austerity cuts. With the cuts that are bound to be made due to brexit and the possibility of Gove getting in - we have scary times ahead Sad.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 01/07/2016 12:24

He must have had this long novel speech of his ready for weeks.

TheBathroomSink · 01/07/2016 12:30

He says he wrote it all yesterday, presumably in between stabbing Johnson in the back and setting up his team to run.
"I'm notorious among my friends for having lots of ideas"

Probably not what you're notorious for at the moment, Mikey.

Showmethewaytogohome · 01/07/2016 12:31

Heman I can't see anyone ever wanting to work with him - they would have to wear a stab vest!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 01/07/2016 12:32

I was about to say, he was rather busy yesterday.

Showmethewaytogohome · 01/07/2016 12:34

Also can't see him winning an election - too Fugly. Am sure there have been studies done that prove there has to be a level of looks to win

Mind you I think people also won't vote for men with beards - move over Jezza FFS!

TheBathroomSink · 01/07/2016 12:49

I can't help but see a resemblance here...

Have Boris and Jeremy been stabbed in the back? Please can we have some leaders?

'What's Gove got to do wth it?"
'All you need is Gove'

ObiWanCannelloni · 01/07/2016 12:56

Just reposting this fromhowabout as it shows you how this will all be spun...

"Gove pledging £100m per week extra for NHS by 2020. That's less than the £8 bn the Tories pledged at the last election pre Brexit"

Bringing immigration down was in last manifesto, Groundhog Day, no substance that would actually do it, although I am nervous about the kind of witless social engineering they may attempt with this...

I'm assuming rich Russian oligarchs don't need to be worrying tho....

EatsShitAndLeaves · 01/07/2016 12:58

I can't see Gove winning.

He's surely pissed too many people off now.

RedToothBrush · 01/07/2016 13:04

Its funny huh?

Gove didn't have a plan for leaving. No substance. No detail.
Yet he's apparently written an entire manifesto for the future of the UK in less than 24 hours.

AnnieKenney · 01/07/2016 13:05

Should I May or should I Gove now? Grin
