AIBU to think many Remainers will echo Lily Allen

Lily voted to remain, but is now exited about brexit and admits she was brainwashed by project fear.

I feel many uneducated and easily swayed remainders like her will see actually change is good, as it was shit and this is a real change.

Lily Allen is loaded. She isn't going to be hugely affected either way.

KERALA1 · 26/06/2016 08:27

I feel the same June. Our Dc denied freedom of movement across Europe and terrifying racist sentiments creeping into the mainstream but we should be pleased because a fucking chirpy pop star is? Give me strength.

merrymouse · 26/06/2016 08:32

She then said

"One thing is for sure though Boris will not be negotiating with the working classes interests in mind. We must #STOPBORIS #invokearticle50."

I think she is reframing Brexit as a working class protest vote. I'm not sure - difficult to voice a detailed opinion in 140 characters.

Either way, she sounds more like somebody who is trying to find the bright side of a bad situation and move onto the next fight than somebody who has suddenly become pro Brexit.

Lily Fucking Allen?????

UhtredRagnorsson · 26/06/2016 08:42

It wasn't remain that the uneducated and easily swayed voted. That lot were all voting to leave.

SatsukiKusakabe · 26/06/2016 08:42

Interesting, but I'm waiting to see what the Loose Women panel have to say before I form any real opinion.

The thing about "Project Fear" is that it was actually more "Project Consequences". I think most people voted remain because it was the sensible option, not through any fear. They are probably scared now though.

pearlylum · 26/06/2016 08:45

I'm not too worried now. I'm in Scotland. Our future with Europe is bright. It's England i feel sorry for.

HildurOdegard · 26/06/2016 08:46

Hypocrisy much? Remainers were creaming their gussets when "rich out of touch millionaires" such as geldof, izzard, Victoria beckham and Keira knightly were telling us how to vote. Hmm

TurquoiseDress · 26/06/2016 08:47

I really don't think that Lily Allen is someone to represent the masses.

The shit-storm, potential fall out from this referendum will not touch her.

She must have an album to promote or something.

Sorry, I can only rate her as a fairly obnoxious attention seeker who has written a few decent songs.

throwingpebbles · 26/06/2016 08:48

Were they? Anyone stupid enough to base their decision on something so complex on the views of a celebrity deserves derision

TheRealMrsClarkson · 26/06/2016 08:48

Poor Lily is going to be dreadfully disappointed then then when there is no Brexit & the racists realise that they were used in order to start a leadership contest in the Tory Party.
Free movement of people was NEVER on the table

Aramynta · 26/06/2016 08:49

Janecc

I feel just as insulted when I am called a racist, mindless idiot for voting out, to be honest.

mixety · 26/06/2016 08:51

It's exciting, yes. In a purely morbid, novel way, the same way that watching a car crash is exciting.

I have seen absolutely nothing to suggest how on earth Brexit will narrow the gap between rich and poor.

NataliaOsipova · 26/06/2016 08:51

What does Lily Allen have to say about the current account deficit? Or the impact of the fall of sterling? And who on earth is she, anyway?

OnionKnight · 26/06/2016 08:53

No, just no.

Lily Allen is just another celebrity with the attention span of a fish.

Lynnm63 · 26/06/2016 08:55

Really pearlylum? France have said a big NON to Scotland remaining in the EU.

NotYoda · 26/06/2016 08:56

This is unintentionally funny

Kidnapped · 26/06/2016 08:57

"And helps to narrow the gap between rich and poor, that can be no bad thing.

I'd love her to expand on her views actually. Perhaps do an in-depth interview with Jeremy Paxman to flesh out exactly which EU referendum policies she means and how exactly they will transfer power and money from rich people to poor people.

It would be an interesting watch.

TSSDNCOP · 26/06/2016 08:57

Phew thank goodness we have Lily. I feel so much better now.

What else can Lily do?

throwingpebbles · 26/06/2016 08:57

france don't necessarily have the ability to control if Scotland want to remain. (I have been picking through the legislation)

pictish · 26/06/2016 08:59

What a strange thread subject. Lily Allen...what? Why would anyone give a toss what Lily Allen thinks? I have nothing against her...she seems a nice, if rather spoiled and self-centred woman, but I'm not sure I'd ever seek to echo her in any meaningful way.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 26/06/2016 08:59

Oh yes. Sure. It's going to be fun isn't it - this economic and political turmoil. The uncertainty and recession. I can hardly wait.

HamaTime · 26/06/2016 09:01

Yay! Losing my EU passport is super exciting! DDs dreams of studying and working in Paris being scuppered before she's even taken her GCSEs is a real thrill! Fucks sake

The only possible thread of excitement I am clinging to is a complete implosion of the major political parties and the emergence of something more honest that is not quite so self serving, but that assumes endless campaigning and extended editions of Newsnight are exciting.

nuttymango · 26/06/2016 09:03

What Eigg said.

echt · 26/06/2016 09:04

Missed this one. Care to share when the creaming went on?
