AIBU to think many Remainers will echo Lily Allen

Lily voted to remain, but is now exited about brexit and admits she was brainwashed by project fear.

I feel many uneducated and easily swayed remainders like her will see actually change is good, as it was shit and this is a real change.

How crass of lily allen, whose wealth will shield her from economic problems.

Yes, it's easy to be optimistic and excited in a speculative kind of way when you have a buffer of several million pounds. hmm

Exactly this!

Justaskingnottelling · 26/06/2016 07:24

Then you don't know how really hurt angry and disappointed many remainers are. You have no idea. We not just a bit hacked off that we didn't win a competition. It's not fucking Britain's Got Talent. It's about our futures and the futures of our children. It's about the philosophical heart of our country. And I think you're being a goady fucker. Why do people feel they have to taunt people who are deeply upset. I don't get it. You fucking won. I wouldn't even be reading threads about it if remain had won. I just would have been happy, relieved and moved on. Can't understand the need to crow and feel you have to convince us you're right. This is part of what really upsets me. It seems like so many people voted on a whim - Lily Allen obviously did. Sound bite fucking politics. It makes me rage and it makes me weep. And if you want to crow about that, fill your boots, because I'm not alone, there's plenty of people out there that feel like I do.

Lynnm63 · 26/06/2016 07:26

Lily Allen is a ocean going, first class prize idiot. I have no problem whichever side she's on but on Twitter she was dishing out shit to Daniel Hannan then when he called her out on it rather than debate she blocked him. So I don't really give a fuck what she thinks about anything.

SlimCheesy2 · 26/06/2016 07:28

well I have already had a project cancelled that I was relying on - not least because DH lost his job several weeks ago when the company he worked for went bust (Director stealing funds). So neither of us have work on the horizon until September at the very least.

But Lily Allen feels excited now. That's good.

LineyReborn · 26/06/2016 07:28

The fact that someone who voted Leave is looking for validation from the likes of Lily Allen just about sums it up for me.

LittleBearPad · 26/06/2016 07:31

OMG if Lily Allen says it's exciting, it must be. She's amazing.

Hmm Angry
downright · 26/06/2016 07:33

Lily Allen, that well known political talking head.... or...... not.......

babybythesea · 26/06/2016 07:33

Here's the thing, I didn't vote based on celebrities. I voted based on what the majority of world leaders (Vlad Putin and Trump excepted), thought was the better option. I voted based on what leading economists, environmental organisations and most business leaders said. And I voted based on my own research looking at situations in places like Norway, as well as various forecasts.
Unlike many leavers, it seems.
So no, Lily Allens opinion matters jack shit. And yes, as she has the money to cushion her through whatever hits, so unless she's planning on sharing it round those of us who don't, then I'm not in the same boat.

TheDuchessOfArbroathsHat · 26/06/2016 07:37

Yes yes - but what does Chanelle Hayes think? I must know before I can commit to a confirmed viewpoint.

AnnaFiveTowns · 26/06/2016 07:43

Lily Allen? We need to find out what Joey Essex thinks about the result before we decide whether we've fucked up or not!

throwingpebbles · 26/06/2016 07:43

Yes, I've got two first class degrees (one in European politics and economics, one in law)....but my heads been turned by someone who writes pop songs Hmm

Not to mention the fact the leave campaign are already admitting what many of us on here warned : that they are promising the impossible

The only possible good thing that might come of all this, is that when everthing comes crashing down, people may actually start to see Nigel Farage for the lying, manipulative, self-serving, narcissistic career politician that he is.

Well maybe Lily Allen could come sit by me and talk me through the positives of the result given that I live in NI. Although to be fair to her, I doubt she could find her arse with both hands most days.

expatinscotland · 26/06/2016 08:03

Who the fuck is Lily Allen?

throwingpebbles · 26/06/2016 08:05

A leading economic and political expert apparently expat

throwingpebbles · 26/06/2016 08:05

Ps what's the mood like in Scotland???

MoonriseKingdom · 26/06/2016 08:10

Who the fuck is Lily Allen?

I think she's Alfie Allen's sister (the one from Game of Thrones). She must be a top economist or something.

In other news ... Ha ha ha OP

BarmySmarmy · 26/06/2016 08:10

I did get momentarily excited-like-Lily , but the view of Farage's face, admitting that the basis of the whole Leave campaign (the £350m) was a lie made me change my mind again.

StrictlyMumDancing · 26/06/2016 08:15

Yes yes - but what does Chanelle Hayes think? I must know before I can commit to a confirmed viewpoint.

JuneFromBethesda · 26/06/2016 08:18

The only thing I'm regretting is that I didn't get involved in the Remain campaign myself. I was always going to vote Remain, so didn't think beyond my own vote, but if there's any way I could have made a difference to the result, made one Leave voter reconsider their decision, I wish now I'd done it.

I couldn't be further from excited. I'm horrified, saddened and angry at what's being taken away from me and my children.

Highlandfling80 · 26/06/2016 08:23

Yabu

BonerSibary · 26/06/2016 08:23

Lily is rich, so will be insulated from the upcoming economic nightmare. As soon as I have her money, I might be able to share her optimism. Until then, fraid not.
