AIBU to think many Remainers will echo Lily Allen

Lily voted to remain, but is now exited about brexit and admits she was brainwashed by project fear.

I feel many uneducated and easily swayed remainders like her will see actually change is good, as it was shit and this is a real change.

Oh come on - Lily Alen must have something between her ears - she made millions despite being a fat chic with no talent.

Professor Michael Dougan analyses the EU referendum debate
One of the UK’s leading EU law experts criticizes the referendum debate’s “dishonesty on an industrial scale”, as he considers the claims and counter claims from each side.

Where was this bloke in the run-up to the referendum? Shock

flippinada · 27/06/2016 20:18

From the user name, I'm hazarding a guess that Dad2 is Welsh.

Perhaps he hasn't twigged yet that Wales is going to lose funding worth 13 billion Euros? Never mind that though, I'm sure the warm feeling of self congratulation will be sufficient recompense.

flippinada · 27/06/2016 20:21

Bread that video was doing the rounds and in fact a few people here linked to it but it was dismissed by leave supporters as being biased.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 27/06/2016 20:23

FYI I voted leave, standby my vote, am educated and not easily swaying by fear tactics of any kind.

My dear, it's not fear tactics anymore - it's happening. It's the News now.

MetalMidget · 27/06/2016 20:24

Yeah, as a remain voter I'm now massively excited about the pound falling off a cliff, companies in my industry closing or relocating to Europe due to having their VC funding pulled, EU colleagues feeling massively uncertain and unwelcome, and my child being born into a country with more cuts, austerity, and probably an abolished NHS due to the massive recession we're probably going to Benny Hill into (not to mention that he won't be able to enjoy the free movement that we have).

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 27/06/2016 20:25

And here's what Nick Clegg said on the 22nd - but everyone ignored him. Until it all came true.

What You Will Wake Up To If We Vote Leave

Itinerary · 27/06/2016 20:26

"Given the sheer volume of people regretting they voted leave"

Many of whom may actually be remainers...

BlackbirdSingsInTheDeadOfNight · 27/06/2016 20:28

What I can't understand is the number of Leavers who seem entirely oblivious to the state of the country now and the part that every Leave vote played in this. No I'm not going to just "get over myself and pull together".

flippinada · 27/06/2016 20:32

Yeah must be. The same remainers who are responsible for the rise in racist attacks since Friday, no doubt. It's all a conspiracy to make leave look bad, don't you know.

Lozzamas · 27/06/2016 20:53

I think every ones getting a bit hysterical!! I'm a remainer but I'm happy we are leaving I'm married to an EU migrant that left his country because of the EU he and my children voted leave. They are very keen that the EU now implodes and if so you won't want a trade deal with them. I now wish I voted leave, everything, and it is short term while the big business buzzards and speculator vultures circle, that is happening in the economy was entirely expected and will settle. I actually find it a comfort that it is as predicted it means it will pass. This decision is too important to run for the hills screaming as we have some expected short term discomfort. And to those that think it's not a game - to both sides politicians it has been they both lied through their teeth and the winner takes it all. That's what politics is - a big game and we're all the pawns - don't look to them for leadership you won't get any - pray the EU collapses quickly.

MitzyLeFrouf · 27/06/2016 20:55

This thread gets better and better...............

flippinada · 27/06/2016 21:04

Why would someone from an EU country leave the country to come to another EU country to get away from the EU? That doesn't make any sense.

YouSay · 27/06/2016 21:07

Lily Allen? FFS op?

I am not living in the Uk (or British) so have no player in this ring but I cannot believe what the leavers have done to their own country. It is economic suicide.

OhLaVache · 27/06/2016 21:07

'Exited' - brilliant Freudian typo OP

Lozzamas · 27/06/2016 21:08

He was in the Eurozone and didn't want to be part of Europes political and monetary union experiment. So he brought his business over here only to find we signed up to closer union.

ghostyslovesheep · 27/06/2016 21:20

this is the FB message my step dad got this evening from a Brexiter

Your just a little mug next time I'm in 'our home town' to c my man I will ask about to c if any one recognises your face then we can have a proper chat you smug little wimp if u was I front off me u would have shit to say u could t protect your kids if u had to u feeble little man

now if THAT charmer couldn't convince him or me to change our vote I doubt Lily Allen could!

originalmavis · 27/06/2016 21:22

Hmmmmm, is that a quote from Voltaire?

Nicola2505 · 27/06/2016 21:25

I voted to leave and then last night received a pathetic FB message from my SIL stating that although she didn't think I was bigoted, racist or ignorant (although by saying it she obviously thinks I am) that I had ruined her children's future (I don't have children) and she can't now be in the same room as me.
She also demanded i stop posting what she called "twatty and smug" (1 post mocking those calling for a 2nd referendum).
The thing is I'm angry about this and don't know whether to tell my parents or brother what she's said?

originalmavis · 27/06/2016 21:30

Well if you put your politics out there then people will bite. You post a mocking comment, she's upset and calls you on it.

What do you expect? People are threatening random strangers in the street, so this hadn't exactly brought out the best in people.

flippinada · 27/06/2016 21:30

I would have thought someone moving their business from the Eurozone for financial reasons would have looked at that sort of thing prior to moving. But hey, what do I know.

flippinada · 27/06/2016 21:36

mavis come now. Voltaire?

It's clearly a plant by a Remainer trying to make Leavers look bad. Because they really need help with that.

FlumptyDumpty · 27/06/2016 21:36

OP, if you are hoping to convince people you are not yourself 'uneducated and easily swayed', I would politely suggest you learn the correct English spelling, grammar and punctuation.

IonaMumsnet · 27/06/2016 21:38

Hi all,

After a great many requests, we're moving the bulk of the referendum threads to the new board here

Many of you, understandably, want to discuss this subject at length and in detail - this seems a good way to simultaneously keep AIBU and Chat moving for those who don't wish to participate. Of course, the conversations will still appear in Active.

originalmavis · 27/06/2016 21:38

Heh heh heh.

'Shower of gobshites '. (Probably) James Joyce.
