AIBU to think many Remainers will echo Lily Allen

Lily voted to remain, but is now exited about brexit and admits she was brainwashed by project fear.

I feel many uneducated and easily swayed remainders like her will see actually change is good, as it was shit and this is a real change.

OP posts:

The economic fall out has already been terrible.

I really don't understand what leavers really thought they would end up with. Even virus today is basically saying we get Euro lite. However that means all of the negatives as well, can't have free movement and no tariffs without paying into the EUand accepting all of their laws whilst not having. A say on them. Like Norway and Switzerland.

Boosiehs · 27/06/2016 19:30

Ha ha. Virus was auto correct Boris.

ricketytickety · 27/06/2016 19:31

OP are you poking remain voters with a lily allen shaped stick?

Some may bite.

Others may shrug and say 'whatever. Now who's going to clean up this shitty mess?'

Some may say 'I'm weirdly excited in a nervous way.'

But none of it is great, is it? The poking of people already upset, the fact that it's a shitty mess or the fact that some people (like Lily) are nervously excited.

flippinada · 27/06/2016 19:32

Me too nicolachristine.

Janecc Je suis d'accord.

BennyTheBall · 27/06/2016 19:37

My colleague (Polish) has been racially abused in a supermarket.

All of the Polish goods in the same supermarket are being thrown on the floor several times a day. And I am talking about a town which voted 2/3 to remain. I work in local govt and the electoral services dept has been getting calls from some (yeah, really informed Confused) voters asking to change their votes Shock

The arse seems to be falling out of the economy.

No, I am not excited.

HugoBear · 27/06/2016 19:38

What a bizarre AIBU.

mummy2be30 · 27/06/2016 19:39

What do you hope to achieve by bleating on?

Pritchyx · 27/06/2016 19:43

The way I see it, is if you voted remain or if you voted leave - you did so on what you believed in.
I voted out but was convinced we'd end up remaining. If we did remain or leave then so be it, however because I voted one way I've been called "selfish, stupid, a fool, uneducated, thick, a sheep" and even worse... All by those supporting remain. Yet those that have voted leave are apparently racist etc... I for one haven't said anything racist so it doesn't apply to me. Just feel that minorities make sure everyone else gets tarred with the same brush! However, most of the remain supporters I personally know have been vile. Especially since the result came out.
my main point about going for the leave vote was because of the propaganda and scaremongering regarding trade deals, and working for German and French car manufacturers, which is one of their biggest trades, will not cease nor decline... they make too much money for that to happen!

There's both good and bad on both sides. However, both sides need to stick together now to help make it work.

My personal opinion though!

Dad2Cariad · 27/06/2016 19:44

Sore losers.Hmm
It is time to move on.Smile

clam · 27/06/2016 19:51

Sore losers. Hmm

This isn't a game of fucking Monopoly you know!

StickTheDMWhereTheSunDontShine · 27/06/2016 19:51

Lily Allen doesn't need to worry whether the company she works for will continue to be able to source contracts from around Europe.

Lily Allen wasn't looking forward to moving up the ladder to a house without intractible damp problems and with enough space for everyone not to be continually tripping over each other and each other's crap in the next few years only to end up wondering if it's going to be possible after all.

Nivea101 · 27/06/2016 19:53

I honest to God don't understand why anybody even follows celebrities and sweats over what they think. Sure we've all got our own favourite singers and actors due to our own personal taste.

But they are just ordinary people just like the rest of us, so I don't give a shit what David and Victoria Beckham, Bob bloody Geldof, Daniel Craig, friggin' Kim Kardashian, Kate Moss or any of them think or feel. For me I voted what I thought was the right thing to do.

p.s. Who's Lily Allen?

OhLaVache · 27/06/2016 19:56

Fantastic Pritchyx. You haven't said anything racist so accusations that the leave camp are racist don't apply to you. Take some ownership of what you are part of. The leave campaign has been faught on a platform of xenophobia so it's not about what you've said but what you've aligned yourself with.

colouringinagain · 27/06/2016 19:57

No.

LuckyBuddha · 27/06/2016 19:57

You all need to take a chill pill!

BlackbirdSingsInTheDeadOfNight · 27/06/2016 19:58

Not so much a sore loser as someone who is devastated that, since the result early on Friday morning, our country has crumbled into utter confusion with no clear leadership or understanding of what the hell the future will hold. No it isn't a game of fucking monopoly (well said PP) but currently it's the game of life....and I for one rather wish that we weren't in this situation.

monkey36 · 27/06/2016 19:58

The EU will look to reform now that we have brexited. Brilliant. I am just waiting for Frexit, Grexit, Nexit ....

GhostofFrankGrimes · 27/06/2016 20:00

UK has lost its triple A rating. The hits keep on coming.

DailyFailAteMyFish · 27/06/2016 20:00

It's not over yet...

Janecc · 27/06/2016 20:00

monkey36. We are the sacrificial lamb not the early adopters.

LAlady · 27/06/2016 20:01

Are you serious?!!!

MitzyLeFrouf · 27/06/2016 20:01

FFS

Gove and Johnson dragged us here and now they're nowhere to be seen, AAA credit rating has today been downgraded, £ is crashing, the EU are tightening the thumb screws, no one seems to have made an actual plan for Leave winning, but yeah let's be good little girls and boys and shut up and stop being 'sore loserzzzzzzzzzzzz'.

BrexitentialCrisis · 27/06/2016 20:05

No, sorry Dad2 I am not a sore loser. This is not fucking Euro 2016. It's not a game to be won or lost.
See, what I'm not getting is this message that, as a Remain voter, I need to belt up and move on so that we can collectively get to work sorting out all this shit. That I am just a harpy or worse- 'cowardly' or just 'not very imaginative' in imagining the possibilities of brexit.

Why should I belt up and be supportive of this? I didn't want any of this. My sister in Lyon is going to struggle to pay her mortgage next month because her sterling salary has collapsed in value. EU migrants are being abused in the streets.

As a Leave voter, you may have chosen to vote with the absolute wisest and most cerebral of reasons. But your vote has nonetheless contributed to this shit parade and you need to acknowledge responsibility for that instead of wondering about that diahorrea-tweet-spewer Lily Allen.

As a remain voter, I reserve my democratic right to 'bleat' as much as I want to because I am allowed to be massively angry about this whole sorry catastrophe.

Janecc · 27/06/2016 20:09

I agree with you crisis. I, too shall bleat away. Sacrificial lamb.

Baaaa. Baaaa. Baaaa. Ballshit dad2

flippinada · 27/06/2016 20:10

I'm getting sick of reading comments from leave voters carrying on about how they're not a racist, they don't regret their vote and please can people stop saying mean things to them accompanied by smug lectures on how we all need to "pull together".

No.

You don't get to do this and then expect everyone to to shrug and say never mind. You got the result you wanted so own it.
