PETITION FOR A SECOND REFERENDUM - 1 million + signatures already

A parliamentary petition has been created calling for a second referendum. As I type, it already has 1,061,466 signatures and the number is growing rapidly so it will have to be taken seriously.

I would urge everyone who is concerned about the consequences of yesterday's result to sign it. It only takes a minute. Get your friends and family to sign too.

There's also a map showing the location of the signatories. There are some key Remain territories which don't seem to have picked this up - particularly Scotland and Northern Ireland. Please spread the word. Map here:

Newsflash: Boris, Gove and Farage don't give a shit about anyone and don't have a plan.

The EU bailed out Greece to the tune of €240 billion, how is that not giving a shit?

NowWhat1983 · 29/06/2016 20:45

It bailed them out on the condition they imposed harsh austerity measures that fucked the people over even more.

They didnt give them those bailouts for nothing.

bailouts are also illegal in the EU.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 29/06/2016 20:50

You're right about the Greek austerity measures being difficult, NowWhat ... but then, if they hadn't gone on a Weimar Republic-style spending binge the instant they joined the EU, perhaps it wouldn't have been necessary?

ManonLescaut · 29/06/2016 20:51

D'you know how much debt they got themselves into? £320 billion.

If you get into debt you have to cut expenditure, as any fule no.

What would you have done instead?

Because the EU could have just let them crash out of the Euro, and that would have been far, far worse.

NowWhat1983 · 29/06/2016 21:09

So why do people piss themselves on here at any proposed cuts to benefits, etc?

Country is in debt, we have to cut expenditure.
