Yep, DD is gutted. Too young to but but a European school discussing in French as a second language and hoping to go to Uni in Europe.

CremeBrulee · 24/06/2016 09:15

Well that made no sense - should read too young to vote but studying at s European school...

CatherineDeB · 24/06/2016 09:21

what sickens me is that the young voted overwhelmingly to stay. they're the ones who have to live with this. the majority that voted out will be dead within the next 20 years

This exactly, I can't believe it.

notamummy10 · 24/06/2016 09:22

I feel so sick with fear, it's all I can think about!!

I've barely slept and I can't stop crying, I'm so scared about what's going to happen to my future!! I wish the referendum never happened now Sad

Natsku · 24/06/2016 09:23

Woke up strangely reluctant to check the news even though I was confident it would be remain when I went to bed. Have been feeling shocked and gutted since. Its Midsummer Eve where I live, supposed to be celebrating and partying but I feel like crying.

Me too, this referendum was to decide our future not theirs.

angemorange · 24/06/2016 09:37

Very dark day indeed. I live in NI - heaven knows where we will end up.

Interest rates likely to rocket.
Our summer holiday I have scrimped and saved for now seems bleak as pound is worthless.

Future with Boris as PM black as it gets.

Feel sick every time I look at Nigel Farage and hear his tasteless victory speech that 'not a shot was fired' - tell that to Jo Cox's family.
How did a man like this, who couldn't get elected as an MP end up driving a racist agenda to catastrophe?

dontevenblink · 24/06/2016 09:41

I've watched in shock all day as the results came in, feeling sicker and sicker. I can't believe so many people can be so shortsighted. I do wonder what they're thinking now as they watch the markets and pound plummet.

I am an immigrant (to a non eu country) and I have had to point that out to people here who have complained about immigrants, and you can see them squirm but know that what they are thinking is "yes but you're white...". It makes me cry to know that there are millions of people in my beloved home country that feel that way. I just feel a bit numb now.

CatherineDeB · 24/06/2016 09:41

Yes, a world with Boris and Trump at the helm - I fear for my dc's future.

Corbyn has to go, he is weak and ineffective.

blimeyalldecentnamesaregone · 24/06/2016 09:44

I have been trying to work out whether I can get the me and kids an Irish passport. I think I can but don't think I can get the kids one Sad. It is really their futures and opportunities I want to protect so I will investigate further.

OldBeanbagz · 24/06/2016 09:44

Incredibly sad and feeling a little sick this morning. It's a victory for racism and I vividly remember what it was like to be a mixed race kid in the 70s.

Am worried both for my children's future and my elderly parents. We all know now that the promised extra money for the NHS was a complete and utter lie.

As for how our business will do, it remains to be seen. I can't imagine that our European work is not going to be affected Sad

weegiemum · 24/06/2016 09:48

I still can't quite get my head round this at all ...... utterly gutted. My 16 year old dd1 has been very into it all and is absolutely fuming.

Proud of Scotland for voting to remain, hoping now we'll actually get the chance.

And we're off to Spain next week, and haven't bought our euros .........

dontevenblink · 24/06/2016 09:49

Just seen posted that 75% of 18 to 24 year olds voted to remain. The young have indeed been failed Sad

FuckMyWholeFamily · 24/06/2016 09:50

Another one heartbroken here. DP is highly likely to lose his job in medical research, most of the projects he works on are EU funded. I have a business which is dependent on imported goods which are going to become much more expensive. Genuinely fearful for the environment, I don't trust Boris et al to prioritise protecting it.

A world where Boris Johnson is PM and Trump is President of USA is one which I would have laughed off as ridiculous a few years ago but now seems inevitable and out of EU we're not protected from ourselves

Palehorse · 24/06/2016 09:50

the biggest irony is all the leavers crowing about putting the GREAT back into Britain, and waving the union flag when this almost certainly means the breakup of the UK, independence in Scotland and fuck knows what in NI

AuldYow · 24/06/2016 09:51

I was really in the fence then I looked into it properly and decided to remain, I am absolutely gutted. My stomach dropped as I read it - interesting times ahead.

I was explaining it all to my 9 year who at school also voted 'in' he said he was in the minority. I actually felt really proud of him as he had valid reasons for staying, some bonkers but clearly his own mind.

ClinkyMonkey · 24/06/2016 09:52

I'm in NI. We voted to remain. So much for that because we're out anyway. Devastated.

SecretSpy · 24/06/2016 09:54

Fucking heartbroken. Ashamed to be British.

ClinkyMonkey · 24/06/2016 09:57

Where do the people of NI turn now to get abortion law changed and to adopt same sex marriage? It really is a disaster on so many levels.

lcoc2015 · 24/06/2016 09:58

All thise planning on moving to Dublin - do your research on rents and schools. If you are not catholic choice on schools is very restricted. Rents are absolutely booming. Am not sure its the wisest choice...

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 24/06/2016 10:01

I'm seriously considering my future in this country. I never thought I'd want to leave, but can't imagine living in a country where the majority of people seem to have such different views and values to mine. I'm worried about my DS's future, the potential to lose my job - as a civil servant, the likely recession will probably mean job losses or at least real term pay cuts. People seem to blame immigration for many of this country's problems, not realising that much of the pressure on the NHS is down to an ageing population, and the fact that advances in medical science mean that people who wouldn't have been treated 20 years ago are now receiving treatment, and surviving much longer.

OutsiderInTheGarden · 24/06/2016 10:04

Absolutely gutted, and feeling quite ashamed. I honestly thought it would be as close, but with a Remain result. For me that would have been the best outcome; a close enough call to spark a big shake up but still with a commitment to the EU. I don't believe Brexiters are going to get the outcomes they want and expect anyway and I'm very worried for the economy in the short to mid term.

ladydepp · 24/06/2016 10:06

I am so gutted for my children, I can't believe this has happened. What were people thinking, how many of the OUT voters will admit to it if it all goes to shit??

So sad today Sad and so angry at those who voted out Angry

dontevenblink · 24/06/2016 10:07

I've just seen this quote from Nigel Farage from this morning "The first time I appeared on this programme was 17 years ago and we were considered a joke party, with a manifesto for the mad and bad. Now 17 million people have voted for us and I couldn’t be more delighted,”

So he is basically saying that he considers all those leave voters to have directly voted for UKIP. I wonder how many of these leave voters would have sworn they'd never follow that vile man and party and yet...

Oh yes and now he's miraculously realised that there isn't 350 million pounds to go into the NHS after all...
It is all just making me so angry Sad

JennyOnAPlate · 24/06/2016 10:09

I'm gutted, upset and tearful today. I knew it would be close but I honestly thought we would remain.

I don't want to live in a right wing country run by the likes of boris and farage.
