Few threads started by those happy about this. I have decided to no further rain on their parade - they are entitled to their opinions . BUT anyone who feels otherwise ...welcome

Haven't stopped crying. And I can't bear to see Farage's smug face.

ohdogoaway · 24/06/2016 07:17

WHO DIS THIS? I am really interested to find out a detailed breakdown

I'm gutted and a bit teary. We were selling our flat to move into a family home close to good schools. I expect our buyer to pull out or try to haggle hard this week. Either way, our seller won't want to take less and even if he did, DH's job is now in jeopardy and it's the wrong time to take on a big commitment to pay thousands in stamp duty, mortgage and legal fees.

I had finally managed to get on track for a decent career, starting to take off after having kids, but still very low down the ladder and low-paid. Couldn't support a family of four on it in the south east.

If DH loses his job (I give it 6 months before his employer pulls out of England, since they weren't doing great even before this) we will have to move and I lose mine too. I don't even know in what town or what country my children will start school next September.

I'm grieving for the future we lost and all the dreams we had of a life here for us and our children.

AyeAmarok · 24/06/2016 07:18

Gutted too. I really didn't think this would happen. Cannot believe it. So worried now. Jobs, house prices, science investment... Shit.

knottedwood · 24/06/2016 07:19

I DO want to rain on their parade. I am FURIOUS with the people who have got us into this mess - and this isn't just voters (whose dissatisfaction with the state of the world is all too clear), it's the system that got us here.

What to do? What to do?

fastdaytears · 24/06/2016 07:20

I'm really struggling with how to face people who I know who voted leave. Woke up at 5 and have been in disbelief since. I feel sick.

knottedwood · 24/06/2016 07:20

Maybe we'll move to Scotland. Or - I can't believe I'm saying this - the US. I don't think our sectors are going to survive here.

fastdaytears · 24/06/2016 07:22

ohdog I got in a lot of trouble on one of the other threads for posting the demographics of the leave vote as I was pompous and sneering, but the Guardian has some interesting graphs. It's not typical MN demographic.

This.

ohdogoaway · 24/06/2016 07:22

Agreed Knotted but I think I will just find myself telling them to go fuck themselves and I'm not sure that's the way to go. Sadly they are a slight majority of the population . I think many people were quiet about it bc they didn't want to be accused of being racist . Thing is if the cap fits ..... I am convinced that many people think that it's a sure fire way to get rid of ethnic communities - they may have a shock when they find it doesn't change much. And then what kind of party will emerge ?

Another one wanting to pull the covers up and hide in bed.

What have they done?

wavingnow · 24/06/2016 07:24

DH just left for work feeling really down. Had to remind him to concentrate as he is so low am concerned for him. As for me I'm trying to get my tone and face right when I tell the children the news. For the last few years they have been asking if things will ever improve. I would have a no news today day, but guess their friends will talk about it so can't bury my head in the sand can I?

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 24/06/2016 07:24

I'm so ashamed and appalled by this. Thanks a fucking bunch, racists.

ohdogoaway · 24/06/2016 07:24

Fastday can you post them here: safe space for remain mourners!

OP posts:
ohdogoaway · 24/06/2016 07:25

I want to know EXACTLY who to blame

OP posts:
fastdaytears · 24/06/2016 07:26

I genuinely don't think I'll be personally affected in a big way because high income/business in sector which will pick up briefly but then be unaffected/private medical cover/not covered by employee or other protected rights. A recession is bad but not as bad as it would be for some.

The people who are saying they voted leave because immigrants caused them to be unemployed, have no savings and so on will be really, really badly affected and that worries me so much.

Maybe I should get over it. But I am gutted to live in a country that did this.

fastdaytears · 24/06/2016 07:27

Ah I'm afraid that I can't give you exact names! But here you are by demographic.

Feeling close to tears. We attended my DS's graduation yesterday - what sort of tiny-minded, inward-looking country will he be living in? This bitter campaign was fought on mendacious sound bites and borderline xenophobia.

WHAT ON EARTH HAVE WE DONE??

HooseRice · 24/06/2016 07:30

You can all move to Scotland if you want to vote yes to independence and staying in/returning to Europe.

At least the currency question will be answered.

YouMakeMyDreams · 24/06/2016 07:30

ohdo Yep come to Scotland. Weather not always great but plenty of daylight I'm the summer and houses are a bargain.

shash1982 · 24/06/2016 07:31

Scared as it's the unknown but already the £ has dropped.

fastdaytears · 24/06/2016 07:31

Dropped is a bit of an understatement...

GoldenWorld · 24/06/2016 07:31

Actually feel sick this morning. Can't bear to look at Farage and Johnson's smug faces, eurgh. Absolutely gutted.

Powergower · 24/06/2016 07:36

Devastated. This will really affect dh who trades in the free market. But more importantly what a sad pathetic racist little country we live in. I'm sickened. Truly truly sickened.

annandale · 24/06/2016 07:40

Am marshalling a stiff upper lip - it's a democracy, must not badmouth people who disagree, etc.

Struggling. Don't want to be British this morning. Want to apologise to my parents. My UKIP voting mother in law is coming for lunch, must try not to be gloomy.

Hadn't realised how much energy I spend on keeping home atmosphere calm and positive for dh, can't do it this morning and he looks stressed already. Fuck.
