Devastated. Absolutely devastated.

LyndaNotLinda · 24/06/2016 07:47

I've been awake for hours. It's a beautiful day but my heart is broken. I'm also very, very angry that people have voted for a future so very unpredictable. I'm also so sad for my DS as he wont have the freedom I did

braceybracegirl · 24/06/2016 08:02

i feel even worse than i did after the general election. Our poor children.

Chocolateorangegirl · 24/06/2016 08:02

Ohdogoaway- yep. Brown as they come.
All feels so unreal. I work for the NHS so god knows what's happening there. And my husband works for an international manufacturing company in there law department, specialising in European law. You can see how well that's going to go...
My daughter (who's mixed) could pass for white, maybe she'll be okay?!

n0ne · 24/06/2016 08:04

Depressed, shocked, sickened. Pound crashing already. Scotland clearly want to leave UK now. I wish London could too. I don't recognise my country anymore.

ohdogoaway · 24/06/2016 08:04

We can only hope Choc. Today sucks . It's a bad bad day

Just heard. Can't really believe it. What the fuck will happen now,

Don't understand how we got into this position.

ChipInTheSugar · 24/06/2016 08:08

A tiny light of hope is that it isn't legally binding.

But I wouldn't bet much on Cameron finding the balls to say that.

jm90914 · 24/06/2016 08:09

Crony capitalism appears to have started a fire it can't put out.

Prepare yourselves for President Trump.

This is the 1930s and we're going to be in the hands of fascists for some time.

Wish I had something positive to say.

I feel sick.

chickettychick · 24/06/2016 08:10

Everyone who voted out on my Facebook as put a celebratory post saying "goodbye immigrants, we have won". I'm so mad! Yet these people a few years ago shit themselves about UKIP and regularly rant about Donald Trump.
Well done guys, you're really smart aren't you

CatherineDeB · 24/06/2016 08:10

Two quotes from Radio 4 just now ..... This is not a day for hysterical reactions, shortly followed by S&P have advised that Britain is likely to lose its AAA rating.

ohdogoaway · 24/06/2016 08:14

Chicketty that's outrageous . What wankers. And this is the reason I don't trust motives of leave camp. Maybe some people genuinely voted for sovereignty etc but the vast majority I fear voted because they don't like people who are different - welcome to fucking world colonialism created arseholes

I'm still stunned by disbelief. I'm intelligent enough to realise that Brexit was a possible outcome, but I was so far "In"I don't think I really expected it. Can't believe that the country I was born in and have lived all my life has decided this. Social justice my bum. Ordinary people bllx.

On a personal level, DH is the director of a construction company. Took out a big loan to buy out a retiring director last year. Whenever there is any political instability the construction industry crashes. That makes me very worried.

CatherineDeB · 24/06/2016 08:23

Cameron has quit.

I'm gutted, I can't believe 17m people were so short sighted. This will have a huge impact on Northern Ireland and Scotland. It's such an insular vision. And now Cameron has gone to add to the uncertainty.

What a bloody mess. But at least we'll get £350 million back for the NHS eh? Angry

BoboChic · 24/06/2016 08:38

I feel terrible. I grew up in Luxembourg. My father worked for the European Commission. My sister and I went to a European School (like Boris - the traitor). I went to Insead. My sister and I live in other European countries and have brought our bi-national children up to speak several languages and to be committed to the European project. We have sent them to international schools. It's our religion :(((

CaramelPrincess · 24/06/2016 08:41

100% agree that racism has won. People have been blinded by the words 'stopping immigration' and the like...doubt the leave voters have considered what they are actually supporting

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 24/06/2016 08:53

OP this graphic kind of shows the voter information you mean?

I feel very sorry for my son who could have had a fun few years ahead of him, he likes foreign languages and could have potentially studied at a European university, maybe worked in the EU. Hopefully there will be a sensible solution which still allows some degree of free movement without draconian visa requirements. Given 48% of us voted to remain, it would be nice to think the EU would take that into account.

As for workers' rights - well lets hope we don't have a right wing Tory government any time soon.

If Scotland does become independent can I move there please? But please remember, there were a lot of remain areas in England too - parts of London, Liverpool, Brighton, Manchester, South Hams in Devon - we got what we didn't vote for too.

I can't get an Irish passport but I can requalify as an Irish lawyer so better get on with that before they change their rules to keep us out.

Feel that racism has won

this. this. and this.

Palehorse · 24/06/2016 09:06

what sickens me is that the young voted overwhelmingly to stay. they're the ones who have to live with this. the majority that voted out will be dead within the next 20 years.

i literally felt awful explaining to my kids what had happened. the first thing my 6 year old asked me about this morning when he got up. I may be going over the top (and lets hope) but it feels like 1933 and the Nazis have just wrestled control of the Gov.
