Few threads started by those happy about this. I have decided to no further rain on their parade - they are entitled to their opinions . BUT anyone who feels otherwise ...welcome

Heseltine has cheered me up. Never thought i'd be saying that on a Monday morning !

originalmavis · 27/06/2016 08:14

What did Tarzan have to say? I almost agreed with Diane Abbott last night.

End of days indeed...

ohdogoaway · 27/06/2016 08:33

Diane Abbot looked close to tears throughout.

I was listening on radio 4. She is usually so, well the opposite told teary.

World on its head...

IDismyname · 27/06/2016 08:57

I want to hug Hestletine. He made a lot of sense in this crazy black hole we seem to be in.

SpaceKablooie · 27/06/2016 09:00

Sad Hello all.

What a fucking mess, I can't believe that we're here in 2016.

Luckily, I only have one vocal Leave voter on FB (although I'm sure that there are others). I'm pretty sure that DM voted Leave and wouldn't be able to defend it beyond the usual Taking back control nonsense.

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson's column in the Telegraph is a pile of delusional rubbish, the government has all but gone into hiding, and the Labour Party is in disarray.

originalmavis · 27/06/2016 09:16

This would be almost amusing if it were another country...

I'm now very worried about Trump's chances in the stated.

This tastes very much like revolution or peasants revolt. And we all know how well that works our eh? Yeh, nobody told the Chinese or Russians what to do?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 27/06/2016 09:23

I am struggling to speak to the few of my friends who are leavers & very happy. Absolutely their democratic right to vote as they choose but although my head accepts this, my heart cannot and its saddened me beyond measure for all of us

I'm feeling the same. Had two people put up an irritating picture of Whinney the Poo and Piglet. One voted out one voted in but they are still friends and go to the pub to get pissed.
No one "liked" their page. It's only been a few days. No I don't want to go to the pub with you.

originalmavis · 27/06/2016 09:34

I am smug as I know noone who admits to have voted leave, and I believe them.

I am very proud of a relative whose friend said that she was voting leave.

'why?'
'To stop immigration! Theres too much.'
'we are both immigrants you idiot! Your whole family came over and was welcomed here. Ayour kids were born here. Are you stupid? You are voting against us'

SpaceKablooie · 27/06/2016 09:36

Well - yes, I've seen that shared by a few people on FB too. I think it's perfectly understandable to be utterly appalled and dismayed by this result for longer than 5 minutes. A quick cup of tea or a drink won't make it better. It's actually think it's a cynical silencing strategy - Leave: Stop making such a fuss, just move on.

LyndaNotLinda · 27/06/2016 09:37

It's the idiocy of so many voters that I find profoundly depressing. There was a woman interviewed on Radio 4 who said she voted leave but she didn't want to leave the EU. Did they think this was a test run or something? I just can't fathom how someone can be so utterly dense.

And that Piglet/Pooh picture makes me want to punch people.

originalmavis · 27/06/2016 09:44

I think some people really didn't understand the question.

DancingDinosaur · 27/06/2016 09:58

I think this piglet / pooh picture is more apt.

SpaceKablooie · 27/06/2016 10:01

Dancing, that's quite funny Grin.

ohdogoaway · 27/06/2016 10:14

Dancing that cracked me up - a rare thing these days

Switched on the news this morning. More stories of racist attacks. More hate crime. But hey, this wasn't about immigration, oh no, we're taking back our borders, huzzah! all the way back to Dover dumbass

The Leavers cry, "don't call me thick!". If, when you voted Leave, you didn't know that you would stand shoulder to shoulder with racists, then yes, you're thick. If you did know that and you still voted Leave, then you're racist and thick.

alteredimages · 27/06/2016 11:25

The only small hope still keeping me sane this morning is the thought that France may cancel the Le Touquet treaty, and all the idiots who voted against immigration having the pleasure of the Jungle being situated in their own back yard.

alteredimages · 27/06/2016 11:25

A French friend joked that they don't even have to cancel the treaty, they will just give us Calais. Smile

imwithspud · 27/06/2016 11:30

Not really related but I have a staunch 'leaver' on my fb who considers themselves to be a political expert (they're really not), they shared a video of Boris being heckled by the public and declared his hate for 'left wing politics'. Yet he turns a blind eye to the chaos caused as a result of 'right wing' politics. It's so bloody hypocritical, there are idiots on both sides.

I'm fed up with it all now, especially idiots on Facebook who go on like they are the some sort of messiah when it comes to politics when the reality is they are actually very ignorant and bigoted.

ohdogoaway · 27/06/2016 11:42

Spud I had a nice cull of FB - it was actually refreshing to get rid of people who have been calling refugees cowards and greedy for a while, then turned their attention to the Leave campaign and the other immigrants who are to blame for homelessness on our streets apparently . I should have got rid a while ago but it was cathartic. People have been saying you can't destroy relationships over things like this- but I think the views you express illustrates who you are. I choose not to have people like this in my life and make no apologies about it.

I hope now that everyone will realise why most of Scotland wanted to be independent from the rest of the UK.
We were promised that if we voted to stay part of the UK we would be guaranteed to stay in Europe.........oh look what's happened!
I just wonder if the English were allowed to vote SNP in a general election how well the Tories would do then. Let's face it the Tories lied, Westminster hasn't given Scotland anything it asked for.
I am sure that the undecided voters in the last scot ref will vote yes in the next one.
Why would we not want to be able to live and work elsewhere in Europe, our government is a joke and by the looks of things it's only going to get worse.
The problem we have with immigration is from Syria and Africa due to terrorism, not Europeans. You can lay money on it that France will no longer stop them reaching the UK, they will just let them come because we are no longer part of Europe.
Those who voted to stay are welcome to come to Scotland, we would welcome you with open arms. I am glad I don't live in England, how long before you open your curtains and find tents pitched up on your lawns?
Scotland has beautiful countryside, community spirit and a government that does what it says it will.

colouringinagain · 27/06/2016 12:04

Like everyone, still feeling competely gutted about the result.

I am also sick of people on FB telling me to get over it and let's work together and don't get me started on that piglet and pooh thing. Am v tempted to post Darlings one.

This is a massive, monumental change to our country across every sector. And it has been advanced by lies, racism and individual greed and ambition.

No I am not going to get over it today, tomorrow, next week or next month.

My view of my country which I was proud of has been turned completely upside down. I'm now ashamed to be British, and devastated for my children.

CremeBrulee · 27/06/2016 12:05

Love the Pooh meme - it's spot on.

Carapepi77 · 27/06/2016 12:06

Vote conservative......No thanks
Vote ukip.........no thanks
Vote Labour..........no thanks

What choice do you have left???????

Carapepi77 · 27/06/2016 12:42

Just read on the dm that the French government are in talks of moving the Calais camps to Kent.
Guess we will be seeing a lot of you moving north soon and who could blame you. I just hope you can sell your houses.
