We are up to 1000 posts on the other thread, so thought I'd start a new one. And also because as of today my feedback rating is 1000 & I now have a red star

Please keep posting, I love this thread; it's so friendly and interesting!

Thanks carrots. Really should go to sleep!
I had an email asking if I would combine postage in 2 items they won. I weighed the 2 pairs of trousers and worked out price. Sent revised invoice. Now they have sent a message saying they feel that postage is still seems a lot! Can't bloody win with some buyers! Worked out to be about 60p more than the actual cost which helps cover packaging etc! Will message them back tomorrow!

Carrotsandcelery · 23/10/2011 22:50

I have taken to messaging people who make unusual requests and stating the postage I will charge but saying I will refund the excess, bar 30p for packaging. It makes me feel safer as dread underestimating the postage and losing money on it.

Tortoise · 23/10/2011 22:53

That's a good idea carrots. Might try that one on them.

Seabright · 23/10/2011 23:04

Sold £33.86 worth tonight (gross). Not as much as I'd hoped. More stuff listed. If anyone wants any cute, tiny baby shoes, step this way!

Hi,

Can I rather belatedly join in?

I started selling a few months ago to try & supplement my pay while I'm on mat leave. I was doing rather well at saving for Xmas but then had to withdraw most of it to cover my cars MOT.

A few of my auctions ended tonight: four XBOX games which did ok, more than I would have got off games exchange/music magpie anyway. I'm very pleased with a paperchase garden journal (new) which went for £9.48! I think the RRP is £9.99, it was an unwanted secret Santa gift from work last year.

When is the best time to start listIng for Xmas? I have some children's XBOX games etc

Tortoise · 24/10/2011 10:06

One of my items has 4 bids. I relisted them after they ended unsold last night! Confused

Byeckersiambloodyscarylike · 24/10/2011 10:07

Joining the new thread, although im doing more buying than selling at the moment!

Carrotsandcelery · 24/10/2011 13:50

That is most of mine packaged and posted. I have 2 more parcels to go today and, yet again, one late payment. Every week someone doesn't pay up!

Tortoise last week I relisted something I had previously listed at 99p but, because it was free listings, raised the list price to £1.99. It sold this week for £4.00. There is no explaining ebay.

I have one watcher on my relists and a watcher each on 2 of my wii games. I haven't listed anything new yet this week though. I will need to get cracking as my selling total is £220 now. The £350 doesn't seem so crazy now. Grin

breathless I don't know about Christmas personally. Someone up thread suggested November for things people might buy as gifts.

roosterroo · 24/10/2011 16:21

ok

have more listed here
what i did find was some lovely links in the christmas topic and have been doing a little spending too lovely Kimi doll stuff from a £1[hgrin]

TeWihara · 24/10/2011 16:33

hi all, just checking in!

Hopefully have more to add this week sometime. It's been a long wait for ending in November listings...

DumbledoresGore · 24/10/2011 16:54

Toobreathless, based on my experience of selling toys last year, November is a good month to sell, although the later you leave it, assuming it is something people fight over, the better you will do as they get more and more desperate (speaking now from bitter experience of trying to buy Lego sets Angry Sad). I stopped selling really close to Christmas (ie December) simply because I had too much to do to be bothered with packaging and posting stuff for other people. Also, bear in mind, the Royal Mail gets very slow in December.

mogs0 · 24/10/2011 18:37

I need to find some motivation for more listing. I've started to take some photos but really need to build the Playmobil house before I do anything else and I know it's going to take the whole evening...might leave it until after half term...

Carrotsandcelery · 24/10/2011 18:43

I wish I was there mogs. I love building Playmobil.

mogs0 · 24/10/2011 19:08

Me too - wish you were here and love playmobil Grin. The PM house is so big though and I have loads of stuff to do before the morning.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 24/10/2011 19:10

I think I'm becoming addicted to playmobil on ebay. Currently watching a castle for DS for his birthday. SOmeone help mee!

HalleLouja · 24/10/2011 19:10

I have a phone finishing today <a class="break-all" href="http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270835448366?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_500wt_1156www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270835448366?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_500wt_1156" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here. Once this has sold I will be near £200.

I have a few bundles of boys clothes to add tonight - lets see how they do. Here are my other items listed.

I have four watchers on the boys bundle so hopefully will get a bid....

mogs0 · 24/10/2011 19:31

Jareth - I bet your ds would love a PM mansion Grin. I tried to get my ds to part with his PM castle last year and spent hours rummaging through the massive box of PM to find all the bits. When he saw it all built and filled with knights and all the accessories, ready to be photographed for eBay, he fell in love with it again and refused to let me put it on - my sales took a big hit as a result Hmm Grin.

Halle - you've just reminded me that I have two mobiles that I've been meaning to put on...they'll only take a couple of minutes so I can do them this evening.

I've also got a couple of boy's outfits already snapped so could list them while my motivation is so low.

Carrotsandcelery · 24/10/2011 19:52

Jareth I am still sitting in a sea of Playmobil here (trying to sort each set into a separate box) and have been looking at it on ebay again tonight. I don't think there is a cure.

mogs once you get a few things on you will be motivated to keep going.

Tortoise · 24/10/2011 20:14

What playmobil sets are any of you listing? Bought play park tonight off ebay! They want a house but I'm worried it will be like the supermarket which takes ages to assemble!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 24/10/2011 20:14

Well, if anybody has the rock castle then happy to relieve you if it. Mind you, one of them has just gone for £50!

Carrotsandcelery · 24/10/2011 20:18

I am not listing any - I am in serious danger or buying a few though. I am Shock what even little spare bits sell for on ebay. It clearly retains its value.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 24/10/2011 20:43

Well, I've got a lighthouse to list but need to have something to replace it. DS has agreed to sell it, but return for a playmo castle.. trouble is, they're going for more than twice what I will get for the lighthouse. Think I'll box it up and wait until it's discontinued and sell it with loads of figures when DS is older.

Sorry.. I keep hijacking the thread.. can you tell I'm obsessed?

ClaimedByMe · 24/10/2011 21:20

My friend has given me 2 pairs of girls clarks boots to try and sell, do they sell? Anyone sold shoes?

HalleLouja · 25/10/2011 10:40

My sil sold some boys used shoes from Clarks and they sold well apparently. Have found loads more to sell and slowly plugging away.

DumbledoresGore · 25/10/2011 15:48

Anyone interested in the Playmobil passsenger plane? I keep meaning to list it but I am missing some of the tiny pieces so I keep holding back in the hope that I will find them. But the main plane, and people are there. Maybe one day I will get it on to ebay.

Meanwhile, if anyone is interested in dinosaurs, I have spent most of this afternoon listing them. The photo uploader was not working very well.
