We are up to 1000 posts on the other thread, so thought I'd start a new one. And also because as of today my feedback rating is 1000 & I now have a red star

Please keep posting, I love this thread; it's so friendly and interesting!

They all seem pretty good. Plus 2 had brand new pack of darts which cost me a fiver each. Oh well, that's the joys of Ebaying! Lol.

mygirllollipop · 04/12/2011 15:30

Aaarrrggghhh.
I only posted two things last week and both have been in touch with delivery problems.
One to say the courier had left the item in a not so 'safe place' at the wrong address!
The other to say she hasn't received it yet and the address might be wrong Biscuit .

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 04/12/2011 20:01

Okay - experts, how do I do a postage discount for purchasing multiple items?

I can go into the send invoice bit, but it doesn't say anything about the postage prices I listed with the items. So is it the postage box that I fill in with the accurate amount, or the discount box and I take off the discount?

fergoose · 04/12/2011 20:09

you fill in the take off the discount box, so if the postage comes to £6 and you want to charge £4 put -2 in the discount box - then go to bottom and you can preview the invoice before sending.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 04/12/2011 20:14

Okay - I've worked it out.

Mygirllillipop - which courier did you use? I am Shock! Have you complained? I had a big palava with a courier once and their complaints department was really fab, so hopefully you will be able to get a refund.

Biscuit for your other buyer (unless like our account eBay randomly switched to an old one for no reason. Not that I was pissed off about that or anything.)

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 04/12/2011 20:15

xpost!

Thanks, for some reason it was coming up with nothing for postage costs so I just put in the discounted amount and it's adding up correctly so good enough for me.

Evening everyone. I am having a horrible time with Paypal. I am trying to issue a refund but Paypal says I have insufficient funds in my account. I have then clicked on a the link to add funds to my Paypal account and it asks for some bank details (sort code and account no.) When I put these in it says the account is already linked to paypal. I then press the continue button and it once again gives me the page for inputting my account details. Gah! I am just going round and round in circles.

I can shop from Paypal, even if my balance is zero so why won't it let me issue a refund?

The misery of this is added to by the fact that I am fairly sure the person I am issuing a refund to is conning me but I will lose so much on postage that it is not worth the row. Xmas Angry

fergoose · 04/12/2011 21:16

you need credit in your paypal before you can issue a refund

you will need to transfer funds from your bank account which can take a few days to reach your paypal.

notcitrus · 04/12/2011 21:39

Sorry to hear people are having problems. I've just made another £21 from books including one listed 3 times before, but I've decided not to bother with recorded delivery for items under a fiver, which might explain why they now sold.
Didn't have any problems with the last batch of sales so hopefully these will be OK...

That's really me done for listing until at least the New Year.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 04/12/2011 21:44

We have one late finisher still to go, but have made nearly £20 made on soft toys, a few scarfy bits and a couple of DVDs. Almost all listed a couple of times before - Just before Christmas clearly the time to get rid of stuff that doesn't sell at other times!

notcitrus, I don't bother with recorded delivery at low prices either, if something goes wrong I'm prepared to cut the losses. Haven't had a problem yet

mogs0 · 04/12/2011 21:48

I have two items ending in a couple of days. One of them is the PM mansion but has no bids so far. I'm considering ending the auction early and packing it all away until next year and trying again. They seem to be selling for a lot less than they were a few weeks ago.

I think I'm going to stop selling now until after Christmas. My list of things to do is so long and I haven't got the time that I usually waste refreshing my selling page Hmm Grin.

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 04/12/2011 22:00

fergoose how do I get the funds to transfer into my paypal account though? That is the bit I am having trouble with. It just keeps sending me round and round in circles redoing the same form.

fergoose · 04/12/2011 22:19

My Account - Add Funds should do it

Is your bank account confirmed?

I just get a box to type in how much I want to transfer

fergoose · 04/12/2011 22:21

does this help?

forums.techarena.in/tips-tweaks/1353882.htm

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 04/12/2011 22:39

I am doing everything they say to do but instead of a box to input the amount I want to transfer I am getting the same page again and again asking me to input the details of my bank account. When I do this it says this bank account is already linked and sends me back to the form to connect a bank account.

I am nearly in tears with frustration.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 04/12/2011 22:42

Is there a phone number? After the obvious - try signing out and then logging in again. Sounds like a programming error.

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 04/12/2011 22:49

There is a phone number but it says it charges at an International rate. It is not available just now either.

Do you think I should leave it alone and it might have sorted out the glitch by the morning?

All this for a £5 for someone who is "at it" as far as I am concerned.

Is it against the rules if I send her the money instead of refunding her the money? ie to her email address, or will that require funds in my paypal account as well?

Thank you for trying to help. I realise it is infuriating.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 04/12/2011 22:53

We had trouble with a refund a while ago, in the end we sent a cheque. But if you think the other person is dodgy that's probably a really bad idea.

The problem with just sending the money is that eBay won't have a record of it.

mygirllollipop · 04/12/2011 22:57

I used MyHermes and I think they used CityLink. Going to have to chase that up.
The other person confirms it's the wrong address on paypal, so not sure what's going to happen but she wants me to ring RM, not sure what they can/will do.

Saynoto0870 website has a local rate number for paypal.

fergoose · 04/12/2011 22:58

you do need to refund via the original paypal payment, otherwise you could send a cheque or paypal payment and buyer could still start dispute and get another refund.

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 04/12/2011 23:02

I have just checked my email and it has a message saying I have completed step 1. It has told me all about 2 tiny amounts being moved into my bank account etc. I did this months ago when I set up my account. Why is it doing it again? It also directs me to links which don't exist on my pages in paypal.

It is driving me slightly loopy. I am going to go to bed now and have another look at it tomorrow when the dcs are at school.

Thank you everyone.

fergoose · 04/12/2011 23:07

it is confirming your bank account. You need to enter those amounts into paypal then I think you will be able to transfer funds and refund your buyer

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 05/12/2011 16:45

Thanks fergoose - you should work for them. You make far more sense than any of their help functions Thanks

fergoose · 05/12/2011 17:00

you're welcome - am no expert really. :o

SNOWBall4girlz · 06/12/2011 14:03

Its seems to the norm at the moment I paid for a dress over three weeks ago.
I messaged the seller after a week .

She said that it had been returned to her and she would resend it. She had a few dresses and stuff on but cannot see any of her completed items and no one has left feedback as a buyer since 19 th november :( (she has bought and paid for a few things though.)
I have messaged her again no reply so I am going to start a dispute but have no dress and limited funds to buy another item = 290632412881 was a one day auction which i had not noticed either.

here are my things

On a lighter note I sold my baby annabel for £15 and som new jeans for £7 I have a things on finishing today and tomorrow a few watchers and two bids.
Took some good advice from here added sizes to titles and stuff so hopefully will have some money to buy a new dress gutted it was lovely :(
