We are up to 1000 posts on the other thread, so thought I'd start a new one. And also because as of today my feedback rating is 1000 & I now have a red star

Please keep posting, I love this thread; it's so friendly and interesting!

I'm going to re-list all unsold items tonight on 5 day listing. And add one or two items.
Am i right in saying if an item doesn't arrive, buyer refunds and then puts a claim into RM? I'm having trouble with a seller disagreeing saying too late claim given in at po!

lljkk · 06/12/2011 20:01

Good luck Tortoise. Friend told me she sold a boxfull of unwanted toys on a 1 day BIN auction, are one day auctions cheaper to list or summat?

Yes that's what happens if an item doesn't arrive; it's more like the seller has to wait 2 weeks to put in their claim, but I think they have like 3 months after sending to claim (off top of head, I could be wrong).

I just need to vent.
So today I shipped a parcel that went just over 6 kg (arrrggggh, but it had to be that heavy to be properly packed, slightly fragile), so I paid #4 more for p+p than I charged. (Sob)

My parcel which is too long I continue to not know how to ship, will pluck up courage to try another courier tomorrow. Thank god the buyer is fine about it.

One buyer (auction finished last weekend) emailed to ask if I preferred cheque, else I'd have to wait until Wednesday (tomorrow) for his Paypal; I wonder what he'll really do.

And the faulty DVD set I sold which had to be returned: to summarise it was faulty, but it came back with even more damage, presumably caused in transit, and they sent it by a gold-plated carrier pigeon, so when I go to relist it, I will be lucky just to cover all the postage costs from the first sale gone wrong. :(

On top of all today that I found out my niece is a heroin addict, which isn't at all surprising but still sad. :( At least I tracked down some other family on Facebook :).

lljkk · 06/12/2011 20:03

FYI: PO said today that parcels are taking about a week to be delivered. No quicker, anyway.

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 06/12/2011 21:17

Jings lljkk that is sad news Sad I hope she is getting some help/support.

SNOWBall4girlz · 06/12/2011 23:42

has any one else had an email sayin your bid has been cancelled but you have not put any bids in and when you search it is an unknown item? I know better than to click on the e-mail they are an obvious scam :(

Tortoise · 07/12/2011 00:11

lljjkk No wonder you need to vent!

Re-lists done. Didn't get around to listing anything else though! Still have ski trousers to list.

Dropped price of hm forces jet again but only watchers, no buyers. Had one offer but they obviously didn't like my counter offer! And a bloke in usa offering £19 shipping for me to post to usa!

Tortoise · 09/12/2011 19:34

Hm jet sold for £16.50.
Listed ski trousers and Vtech digital camera.

Tortoise · 09/12/2011 20:22

Bloody Nora! Think that has to be my fastest ending BIN ever! Vtech camera sold for £20 just hours after listing it!

Crazybit · 09/12/2011 23:20

Well Sunday is the last day of my stuff, and not sure if I will ever sell again! What a stress it is. Sold a double bed today though on a one day listing, got £6.x for it but they gave me a tenner and told me to keep it. Actually turned up as promised too. I hope there are no more problems and the ebay n'mare will all be over soon Xmas Hmm

Tortoise · 12/12/2011 23:34

Made just under £50 last night and £8.50 on one item tonight.
Problem is, I cant post anything until.Thursday now as printer ink ran out again and no money in bank. Not good. Wanted to post ASAP.

lljkk · 13/12/2011 12:28

I am a little bit on tenderhooks about one auction:
one bidder won 3 items
I went to give them a postage discount & for some reason known only to Ebay, instead of a big discount it changed the invoice to "free postage" Confused :(.

I realised almost immediately, messaged buyer to say there was a mistake, pls. add on X to Paypal payment for p+p.

Buyer duly paid the original invoice & not the added p+p.

I refunded & reinvoiced & this time got the p+p right.

28 hours later now, and buyer still hasn't paid 2nd invoice, and I'm getting very nervous in case buyer wants items for Xmas. But what else can I do? Arrggghhh

lljkk · 13/12/2011 12:29

Why does printer ink matter, Tortoise? Is this about packing slips? Must admit I never enclose them, my printer is too tempermental to wrestle with unless strictly necessary.

Tortoise · 13/12/2011 20:24

No, postage labels. Will package tomorrow and post 1st thing Thursday. Will have money in bank by then!

lljkk · 14/12/2011 13:43

Ah, I just write addresses by hand. I stupidly turned up at PO with an unaddressed parcel the other day (oops Xmas Blush): quick trip to use library computers & stationary shop for a marker pen...

My mistake->reissued invoiced buyer has STILL not paid, it's now 48 hours; I sent her 6 messages this morning to get her attention, let her know she needs to pay the second invoice. ARrrrrrgggh....

Tortoise · 15/12/2011 23:06

Lljkk I print postage labels from paypal so that money comes out paypal. All take to post office today. £43 in postage costs out of my now rather empty bank account! That's it now until after Christmas.
Had a neutral feedback for badly packaged item! It was only a armed forces parachute figure. Just used postage bag as norm. Nothing on it that needs extra packaging. Plus was wrapped in his parachute!

lljkk · 16/12/2011 11:14

Ah, well, that's life; stick around long enough on Ebay & somebody will give you unfair f/b. I honestly don't know why it hasn't happened to me yet, either. I don't remember to look at people's f/b any more, must confess. Xmas Blush. At least I managed to get hold of my tenderhooks-buyer (found a phone number); that item now posted off. She sounded pretty sheepish about not checking her emails sooner.

I never seem to have any problems using up my Paypal balance; not just on Ebay, but so many other online retailers take it now (eg.: Firebox, Maplin).

When do you guys plan to start listing stuff back on Ebay, after Christmas, I mean? I am thinking towards late January so I can do another big blitz. Or do you get better prices closer to Xmas?

mirpuppet · 24/12/2011 11:00

Ladies thanks to the encouragement from this thread according to ebay my

Total sales:

£296.07

for Christmas.

Happy Christmas to all!

Tortoise · 24/12/2011 13:15

Well done mir.
Will have to start a new thread after Christmas. Easter Target lol. Need to see if I can raise enough money for a holiday this year.
