We are up to 1000 posts on the other thread, so thought I'd start a new one. And also because as of today my feedback rating is 1000 & I now have a red star

Please keep posting, I love this thread; it's so friendly and interesting!

10 watchers on DSs bed now! I wonder if just one person bids, if others would follow! Really hope it sells this time.

ClaimedByMe · 23/10/2011 11:41

I have a few things to put on, possibly just a couple, does this week being half term make any difference? Should I wait a week?

Carrotsandcelery · 23/10/2011 11:49

It could go either way Claimed. I have been on the laptop more over the Scottish half term when the dcs are playing and want me around but aren't really playing with me iykwim. There will be more parents off work.

Others might be on holiday or more days out though.

I have 19 watchers on the tracksuit but only one bid so I don't know what that means for your bed Tortoise. I really hope you get a sale this time.

I am trying hard not to wish the day away and to leave ebay alone today. I am getting questions though so feel I need to keep an eye as well.

Ds has a party later though so that will keep me occupied. Hmm

Tortoise · 23/10/2011 14:33

I've scheduled some items to start tonight. More to do but having a break for bit.
DDs quite happily playing playmobil (they want more apparently!) DSs asleep because they stayed up all night (sleepover here last night, xbox playing all night!)

DumbledoresGore · 23/10/2011 15:45

Hello, I wonder how all you ebayers are getting on? Anyone near the £350 mark yet?

I joined the equivalent thread last Christmas and made about £200 which was great for me. I kept meaning to join this thread, but couldn't be bothered to list anything. I have now got started with some listing (just kids' clothes at the moment - more exciting things to come later!) but now my camera has run out of power so I thought I would have a break and come and see what is happening here.

Is anyone having any luck? It is months since I have ebayed. Am I likely to make any pennies for Christmas?

Tortoise · 23/10/2011 16:00

Dumbledore I haven't worked out how much I have made but no where near as much as I want to make! My items don't seem to be doing very well so far.
Loads ending tonight. Couple more watchers and bidders. Still no bid on the bed!

ClaimedByMe · 23/10/2011 16:00

Hello! I just spent what seems like hours listing 4 items, I hope it's worth it, I've set them to go live tonight so I will link to them later!

DumbledoresGore · 23/10/2011 16:06

Oh my listings fwiw

Oh dear tortoise, if you are not doing too well, I doubt I will either. You did brilliantly last year, irrc.

Carrotsandcelery · 23/10/2011 16:55

Dumble I have made £200 so far (inc bids so far on listings ending tonight) so there is money to be made. Nearly all of that has been on outgrown children's clothes. The only other things I have sold are a toddler bike (£20 ish), a couple of wii games and outgrown jigsaws (but not many of them).

I didn't join the thread at the start so that is just in a few weeks.

I tried start prices of 99p but was selling things for 99p so I have raised my start price and the same sort of items are selling for higher prices now.

I haven't had many bidding wars - when I do it is over tracksuits (Nike) and mini boden stuff.

Good luck with your listings. Smile

BTW - Dino, who started the initial thread, has met her £350 target and started on a new target, so there is money to be made out there.

Tortoise · 23/10/2011 16:57

Wooooo hooooo! DSs bed will finally sell.12 watchers and 1 bid!

I guess my other items just aren't anything special so not getting much.interest.
Got ds games starting later and girls 5-6 clothes. Also some soft toys inc hello kitty that I hope do well.

DumbledoresGore · 23/10/2011 16:57

LOL @ tracksuits! Who would have thought?! [hwink]

dizzyday07 · 23/10/2011 16:58

I have sold 7 items this afternoon that netted me @£16 before fees. 6 more things finish later but only one has a bidder.

It's more about clearing out the clutter than making big bucks for me as I am determined for there to be as less c*ap for us to move wnen we eventually sell this house!

DumbledoresGore · 23/10/2011 17:00

IIRC toys are the things that do well at this time of year. I made most of my £200 last year on old toys, but I sold them in October and then watched my fellow Mners make way more money on the toys they sold in November, so I am hanging on to my excess toys for the moment (not that I have as many as I did last year).

Woohoo tortoise re the bed. Hope you get a last minute bidding war!

Carrotsandcelery · 23/10/2011 17:20

Yee Haa! Hurrah on the bed tortoise - hopefully they will all start fighting over it now.

Dumble I was so Shock about the tracksuits. I nearly didn't list it but thought I might as well give it a go and it went for £16. I have a Le Coq Sportif, bobbly one on just now. I have mentioned and photoed the bobbling. It has 20 watchers and is at £5.50 at the mo. Shock I have no idea what it is all about. They are just things I bought ds to pull on after football Shock

Carrotsandcelery · 23/10/2011 17:24

Your listings look good Dumble. The Brownie top should do well. I imagine the Beavers one will too. I should think the clothes will be snapped up as well.

mogs0 · 23/10/2011 17:36

Tortoise- woohoo! Finally!

I am currently at £530 but that is including 2x buggies @ £250 and ds' bed at £150. Also £180 of the buggy money might have to be refunded because of parcel force losing it Angry.

I have a few things on at the moment. Some have far more watchers than I expected but not many bids so far.

I'm also wanting to clear clutter rather than make a million although the extra cash will certainly be welcomed!

Tortoise · 23/10/2011 19:34

Bed has 2 bids, £51 now. Hopefully at least those 2 bidders will have a bidding war!

notcitrus · 23/10/2011 19:42

Hello, could someone just confirm that "The buyer has cancelled the return. The return is now closed." means 'the buyer no longer wants to return the item and I can relax with my money'?
MrNC sent him a snotty email pointing out that we never mentioned any refund policy let alone a 7-day one - but as Ebay seem to have inserted 'Returns offered' into my other listings despite my leaving the Returns field blank, I was worried.

Coffee table got collected and cash paid today, so that's all but 1.99 of my £170 accounted for.
Found some more stuff that should be sellable, so will try to list over the next week.

fergoose · 23/10/2011 19:45

I guess the case is now closed if the buyer has cancelled the dispute.

Why did they want to return the item? Even if you mark your auction as returns not accepted the buyer can open a dispute if not as described. I think it is always worth offering a return as you can't really refuse it to be honest.

notcitrus · 23/10/2011 20:24

We asked if the wrong item had been sent or if there was some way if it wasn't as described, and never got any answer. Suspect they may have had a broken one they wanted to swap.
I've had a couple people in the past dispute whether my item is as described and always refunded them without any hassle, but this one just didn't sound right.

fergoose · 23/10/2011 20:29

that's fair enough - was it an item that is commonly scammed then? Did you mention security marks to them and scare them off?

Tortoise · 23/10/2011 21:14

Bed has half an hour left and is on £62!
Scheduled items listed.
Soft toys not listed! Too tired and got a headache so going to leave them for today.

Tortoise · 23/10/2011 22:23

Very happy! Bed sold for £71 in the end.Grin
Relisted unsold items. Half asleep and noticed I'd relisted 2 items twice! I better have a good look tomorrow when more awake to make sure I haven't double listed anything else!
Also had a message from one buyer saying they just spotted the DS games and would I do a deal on some they want. Will work that out tomorrow. Too tired and have a headache now.

Carrotsandcelery · 23/10/2011 22:28

I sold heaps and have made about £60 tonight. Yay! Much happier than last week.

I hope you feel better tomorrow Tortoise.
