We are up to 1000 posts on the other thread, so thought I'd start a new one. And also because as of today my feedback rating is 1000 & I now have a red star

Please keep posting, I love this thread; it's so friendly and interesting!

Well, ebay online help are a load of rubbish aren't they!

lljkk · 24/11/2011 16:49

2 expensive purchases and a few little ones & my Paypal balance is already back down to 45 quid. One of my sold items has defects (pout) & may have to issue a big refund for it (sigh).
At least nearly 2 dozen things still listed (wistful).

lljkk · 24/11/2011 16:51

ps: I've a npb (item that finished 11 November & today I finally gave up on payment ever appearing). Pretty hacked off, but mostly just because this is a rare experience so I am a little fuzzy about procedure & don't want the faff of it. I think I can get a lot more for it if I just list in local free-ads, anyway .

mygirllollipop · 24/11/2011 20:42

Carrots - I had that problem too, buyer had to pay postage for item I had POP for. Buyer didn't message me but told me in the FB. Buyer never did respond to the Royal Mail claim.

Well £60 seems to be my magic number, my third lot of £60.

I have a European buyer, but can't tell them postage as price finder down on RM website - grr.

Carrotsandcelery · 24/11/2011 20:54

Luckily in my case the buyer wasn't charged by the postie and she was honest enough to tell me that after I had offered to take it up with the post office. It has restored some faith and I will just have to put up with her comment in my feedback.

Tortoise · 24/11/2011 22:42

Listed some hm armed forces bits. Stuck them all on as bin price with best offer.

I've got a non payer from a while back. They have replied to messages saying they waiting for cleared funds in paypal. I think I've waited long enough!

Tortoise · 24/11/2011 22:46

I've just checked and they won the item on the 6th Nov! Have sent a polite message asking for payment by the end of tomorrow.
If no payment I will have to open ebay case. I've had enough, they are taking the piss now!

notcitrus · 25/11/2011 08:47

After opening a couple cases I've now been paid for all my sold items (and one someone forgot to bid on!), so last four parcels down to the PO today and that's my £350 - the guy who bought the computer part for £30 left glowing feedback so should be OK, as everything else was only a couple quid.

Don't really have anything else to list/relist - the other Blyton books are nice hardbacks so the charity shop can have them, and MIL can have the other stamps.
Though will list a copy of Spring Term, the new Antonia Forest spinoff, unless anyone on MN wants it.

PurpleFrog · 25/11/2011 08:55

Just read my e-mail - it's free listing again this weekend!

lljkk · 25/11/2011 09:38

Oh bloody hell Angry. FListing would be announced the night after I did a load of listings (sigh).

TeWihara · 25/11/2011 09:46

Bad timing, lljkk.

I haven't much left to list tbh, but I guess I might as well relist all the bits that haven't sold yet just in case. Oh, and DD's toy ironing board and iron... a year is long enough to prove she is never going to play with it I think!

Snapespeare · 25/11/2011 09:53

whoo hoo free listing!

motivation to tackle the pile of stuff on my kitchen table (which is motivation in itself as I can't bear to look at it) and additional motivation to NOT list tonight and have a nice evening of ironing and photo taking wine and rubbish telly catch up.

Tortoise · 25/11/2011 10:01

Free listing, good. I can get nerf guns listed and have an kids electronics set. Tend to sell for £30 so must list it!

lljkk · 25/11/2011 17:58

Advice Needed!

I sold an item for 50 quid, a kids language pack with 6 DVDs in it.
Buyer says 2 are faulty, buyer would like to return the lot for refund.
I think I understand how to refund on Paypal, and I'm willing to refund the buyer's first lot of postage as well as postage price.
BUT Do I pay for the Buyer's costs for return postage (about 5 quid?)

If not, is there a nice way to say not?
I am thinking I may offer to split the return cost of postage with buyer, would that be reasonable?
To reclaim my Ebay fees, I understand that both buyer & I have to cancel the transaction, is that straightforward? I understand the buyer may find the form daunting.
(Idiot's guide needed, I guess)

I have paid for postage myself when I returned a faulty Ebay purchase before, but the postage wasn't much, & I think I'm more used to Ebay conventions than average, don't want buyer to be left unhappy. WWYD.

lljkk · 25/11/2011 18:01

ooh! Just realised that I do have 2 items to list, so can take advantage of free listing after all (maybe, fingers Xd)

fergoose · 25/11/2011 18:53

to be honest if the item is faulty I think you should refund their return postage costs too

I wouldn't be happy to incur return postage costs for a faulty item

to refund their original payment you log into paypal, click on their payment then scroll down and hit refund

lljkk · 25/11/2011 18:54

Shall I say that I will issue a full refund if they return the item, and further cover their return postage costs once I can test the item myself to verify it's faulty?
I think that's reasonable(?)

Wuxiapian · 25/11/2011 18:58

I'm up to £265 - didn't do as well as I hoped and will be completely skinted for Chrimbo (just had our offer accepted on a house), so a few more of my pickings...

lljkk · 25/11/2011 19:06

Keep looking Wuxia, just keep scrounging around for things you can flog.

I just sold a pair of used Anyway Up cups (+lids) for over 11 quid.
Any way ups!!
Lots of my stuff isn't shifting... even so. Anyway up cups, Can't believe that.

I have another 6 in cupboard or so, too, but should keep them if I value my carpets (sigh).

fergoose · 25/11/2011 19:17

Yes lljkk, I think that is reasonable - tell them to return in the condition it was sent and once you have checked it you will refund.

Wuxiapian · 25/11/2011 19:25

Nice one, lljkk. Guess it all depends on who is looking at the time!

You're right, though. Scrounging it shall have to be!

Good luck to us all!!

BrianAndHisBalls · 25/11/2011 20:35

Remembered why I stopped doing ebay

Can anyone advise me on this please?

"Hi,

I have received this today and was gutted to find out my Mother has brought the exact same doll, I cannot believe it.

Please could you tell me where I stand with regards to returning this item?

I hope this is not going to be a problem and I look forward to hearing from you".

I really do not want to refund for this reason! The buyer will have to pay postage to get it back to me, it could get damaged in the post, it won't arrive until next week so late then to relist for christmas... can I just say god you're annoying no?

fergoose · 25/11/2011 20:41

Was there an underbidder- worth a second chance offer?

I would tell them to return at their own expense - but it has to be sent back immediately and it has to be received in the condition in which it was sent. Only then would you refund.

Or you could say no - but then may get a neg and a dispute against you. Up to you really, but I think it is better to be reasonable and get it back in one piece. But I can understand the time constraints. There is still time for Christmas buyers though, not yet December.

BrianAndHisBalls · 25/11/2011 20:47

Fergoose - you're too reasonable Grin Don't know why but this has really irritated me, think I'm tired.

Its just the thought of having to accept it back and relist etc I think. I've suggested to her that it would be easier and cheaper for her mom to return the one she has bought (that way buyer doesnt have to pay postage).

I already sold one to the underbidder unfortunately else that would have been a good idea.

I don't bother about the neg, I've got over 2000 feedaback and no negs but Im fed up of being held to ransom Grin What grounds could she open up a dispute on?

fergoose · 25/11/2011 20:58

Well I try to be reasonable - but yes it is irritating when buyers chop and change like the flipping wind.

How about offering the buyer the use of your photos from the listing so she can list and sell it herself - will save her the expense of sending it back to you.
