I tested today only 7dpiui bfn on one step test strip but sure I got very faint positive on one last night sure trigger is gone as had negative for few days since positive trigger on day 3. Dunno how reliable these tests are have ordered first response one to do in few days even though I know still to early I don't feel different though so don't think this is my month x

LRDtheFeministDragon · 14/05/2018 10:17

Ooh! That sounds hopeful at the very least. I believe a fast positive is pretty unusual. Fingers crossed.

Smithguy86 · 14/05/2018 11:25

That sounds good ttc I was getting positive tests from 8 days post iui I never actually got a negative so wouldn't trust the results until we had the blood test!

We had our gender scan on sat and found out we are having a girl and a boy!

ButtonMooooon · 14/05/2018 12:09

Wow Smithguy a set, congratulations!!Wink.

Our clinic appt has been brought forward a day due to my unpredictably irregular cycle. Estimated date of egg retrieval is w/c 18th June. Eeeekkkkkkkk

pickle162 · 14/05/2018 12:14

Fingers crossed ttc and congratulations Smith how lovely to have one of each. How many weeks are you now?

Ttc2017 · 14/05/2018 13:27

Aw that's fab news congrats Smith! I'm not too hopefull think it must be either chemical pregnancy or the line came up to late or maybe it is last of the trigger coming out x

Ttc2017 · 14/05/2018 13:27

Good luck button moon that's exciting u have a date for ec! X

LRDtheFeministDragon · 14/05/2018 13:27

Oh, how lovely, smith! Smile

button, that's great! You must feel so relieved to have an actual date in mind.

Smithguy86 · 14/05/2018 15:33

Great news button!

I'm 17 weeks today still suffering pretty badly with the sickness but apart from that all good! Delighted that we are getting one of each as I don't think I ever want to be pregnant again! Are you getting on pickle how is baby pickle?

TiredAndIrrational · 16/05/2018 17:33

Hi everyone. I'm just starting my first cycle of donor egg IVF in Prague; I have the ultrasound on Friday to check endometrial thickness and if all goes to plan, embryo transfer will be some time after 24th May.

I'm TERRIFED that it won't work. I feel in my bones that it won't. A handhold would be appreciated Sad

LRDtheFeministDragon · 16/05/2018 17:39

Hello! Welcome. Smile

Here's a hand from me. Sorry you're so terrified. Does it help to talk through reasons why?

lovelymojitos · 16/05/2018 18:21

Hi all, been absent from this thread for quite some time but been keeping an eye out - congrats pickle and others for BFP's. It's really lovely to hear about the success stories!!
So I'm single, 38 and had 2 cycles of unsuccessful medicated IUI (think 2nd cycle might have been a chemical as had 2 positive tests day 14/15 then all negative). Just about to start my next cycle of IUI, baseline scan on Friday. Thinking about what to do next - for some reason the thought of IVF scares me...! Have people who have gone from medicated IUI to IVF found it a very different experience? Also - what is the egg retrieval process like?

TiredAndIrrational · 16/05/2018 19:00

Thanks LRD - I think the primary reason I'm terrified is because I'll have to finally face the very real possibility of a life without children, a life of never having carried a baby, and the sadness and disappointment we'll feel. I'm SO negative and I can't get my head into a more positive place.

I've had a bit of a self-esteem issue throughout my life as well, so a big part of me feels that I don't deserve this . . .

Hi LovelyMojitos - snap, this is my first IVF too. Donor egg though, so no egg retrieval for me.

lovelymojitos · 16/05/2018 19:31

Hi tired I completely understand where you're coming from, I've always imagined myself having children and to think of myself in 5 years, 10 years without having had them makes my heart hurt.
I'm actually doing one more cycle of IUI, then thinking about IVF, have you done IUI with donor sperm or are you going straight for donor egg IVF?

Ttc2017 · 17/05/2018 05:46

Just got bfn on frer 10days piui 👎x

lovelymojitos · 17/05/2018 07:13

👎🏼ttc but still early days...

TiredAndIrrational · 17/05/2018 07:42

I have premature ovarian failure, Lovely, so we knew we had to go straight to DE IVF if we wanted to try for a family.

TTC I'm so sorry to hear that Thanks

LRDtheFeministDragon · 17/05/2018 10:18

lovely, I'm in exactly the same boat as you and also rather nervous of IVF. A friend had a nasty experience of it - she found the medication made her feel awful.

tired - yes, I can absolutely understand that. Sad But, you know, you absolutely do deserve this. The thing that strikes me over and over on this thread is how much love we all have to give to a baby. We are all planning and hoping each month. A baby who knows how loved and wanted it was is a lucky baby, and all of our babies will know that. So you absolutely deserve this, and I hope it happens for you.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 17/05/2018 10:18

ttc, I think first response is a bit shit TBH!

Ttc2017 · 17/05/2018 10:49

A very very faint line came up but after the time frame I'm guessing this is just an evaporation line? X

LRDtheFeministDragon · 17/05/2018 11:20

It's just very early to know, I think.

GingerSnapp · 17/05/2018 11:28

Hello tired and lovely.

Best of luck tired. I’ve found everyone here to be super supportive and open. And there is always someone out there who shares (parts of) your experience.

Sorry to hear about your bfn ttc, but maybe it is still early days?

lovely, DP is embarking on IVF following 2 unsuccessful IUIs (donor sperm). So far the process is familiar (up until egg collection), but with higher doses of same drugs. We’re pleased to be in a situation where we know how to inject/symptoms to expect etc. So we’re hoping things will go smoothly! It is a lengthier process and requires more visits to clinic and obviously more expensive. But it feels good to just be trying something different - feels like we are being proactive in something which is largely out of our control!

Going to indulge in some relaxation next week in preparation with spa break booked and walking in the Brecons. Cant bloody wait.

lovelymojitos · 17/05/2018 13:19

Thanks ginger good to hear a positive story re IVF, fingers crossed!!
ttc I drove myself crazy with pregnancy tests last time - had few first responses that were positive from day 13 (hadn't tested before) but normal tests were all negative. The first response stayed positive til day 17 (although was getting lighter) and then was neg day 18 and period started (despite progesterone pessaries). Not sure when to test and with what next time - part of my thinks maybe wait til I'm a week over OTD so it's clear one way or the other but don't think I could do that in practice!! I also have developed an irrational hatred of the clear blue digital 'Not pregnant' in black and white just seems so much harsher than not seeing a line - silly I know!!

Bear1980 · 17/05/2018 15:26

I have to say after 2 rounds of IVF I didn't have any symptoms from the injections. I have had a bit of pain following egg retrieval both times but I think thats partly because my left ovary is hard to get at but also because I tend to grow more follicles than the number of eggs retrieved, so they are flushing the follicles a few times to try and get an egg out.

Bear1980 · 17/05/2018 18:00

Hey so I haven't updated for a while. I started my 2nd ivf cycle in Mar and whilst response wasn't great I actually got 1 top quality blast and a 2nd blast which was slightly lower quality but still good enough to be frozen. I started getting bfp's on 5/6 dp5dt which was confirmed by a positive beta of 174 on 10dp5dt. Unfortunately a week later I started spotting and my hcg was only 268, a sure sign I was going to miscarry. I am now about 2 weeks on from the actual miscarriage and my hcg levels are being very stubborn (despite never getting higher than 330). For the last 2 Fridays they have stayed around 50 so I am just hoping that my test tomorrow shows a drop.

It's been a tough few weeks but I am now trying to concentrate on FET as well as diet and exercise in case I have to start a new cycle.

Anyway that is a long update but was just easier to stay away during last cycle. Here's hoping my little frozen blast is the one.
