ever forgot to say in my message, you're so brave my love, and of course you miss your darling girl. you are a true warrior. Xxxx

Everhopeful76 · 28/07/2017 11:05

stork Thanks darling. It's been really hard but I know I need to be a mummy to another baby, in a way to heal. Nothing without risks in life but nonetheless it's still hard to contemplate esp after a recent ivf failure too.
My treatment is a full egg cycle with fresh donor, not embryos made up from previous ivfs. I believe you ll get the general colouring from an embryo and for you it well be your magic bullet. I ve just seen mine as more of a package of embryos hopefully that I can try for a few goes with the same criteria of donors and potentially a sibling- thanks for confirmation of storage costs and fet . Peny didn't seem to have a preference for me, just saw it as another method and chance. I could try this an option as a more cost effective one if the cycle doesn't work out and for some reason there are fewer embryos than expected
It's good to have a serum buddy if you go ahead with them too!!
I had an initial consult with ivi at a fertility fair. Bombarded me to start with but then I was put off by cost but it's interesting to note that EA is only 2 k with them!!
Xx

Persipan · 28/07/2017 11:07

Just had a scan and apparently I have a lovely lining. Yay!

Everhopeful76 · 28/07/2017 11:08

Ps I actually received 2 emails from penny in 1 day plus reception team... 3 separate messages. customer service and communication skills are excellent. It's so refreshing for this to be smooth. I hope it continues...

Everhopeful76 · 28/07/2017 11:09

Great persipan where are you having yr treatment? Lovely lining is always a good thing xx

StorkAhoy · 28/07/2017 11:49

persipan that's what we like to hear!

ever, we move forward, that's what we do! Yes, their communication is great, and constant. I need to consider funds, when I want to start and discuss with Penny the reality of EA I think, and what it really means. I need to juggle the 'i want it now!' With the sensible side of my brain!
I will get confirmation on the 2k from ivi for EA and post here.

Angliski · 28/07/2017 12:35

Pickle so excited for you- we decided to go to ivf zlin if this round doesn't take. Yes I am in round 3 iui first medicated was Bfp but mmc second didn't take had a month off and now final try of three. I am on day 4 post iui and trying my best to just ignore it rather than obsess.

Angliski · 28/07/2017 12:36

Munro wanted to say I am sorry - I know his disappointing it feels and sending you a big hug x

StorkAhoy · 28/07/2017 15:02

Just spoke with ivi. Oh my! So expensive. EmAdoption, €3535, plus €500 for my meds, plus €1600 for the donor meds. To which I asked, aren't these frozen, donated embryos and they answered yes, and I asked why the donor would need new meds and honestly I can't really figure out what answer they gave. So IVI is out.

pickle162 · 28/07/2017 15:04

Persipan yay for the lining :) how are the follicles doing?

LondonGirl80 · 28/07/2017 20:36

Hello everyone!

I'm 37, in a lesbian relationship & just about to start our first round of stimulated IUI with US donor sperm. My period arrived Weds night, so been in today for a scan and just about to do the first injection.

I've tried to understand some of the conversations on here, but lots goes over my head. Has anyone got any experiences to share about stimulated IUI and what to expect it to feel like? Thanks in advance.

Wonky35 · 28/07/2017 20:55

Sorry to hear about the bfn munro. Plus I agree your list of requests is entirely reasonable. Sad that often only when you get arsey do you get the best care.

That whole $1600 for 'meds' definitely sound a bit dodgy stork. I would probably not go for them either after that.

I had my planning appointment yesterday so it has all become very real! Plan is aiming for egg collection second week of September all being well. Just need to work out how to get my local sexual health clinic to do my chlamydia screening and make sure it's done in a CPA accredited lab.

Am off on holiday for 2 weeks come Sunday. Really exciting except I have a stinking cold and the microgynon I have been started on has made me bleed continuously for the last 2 weeks - bastard medicine!

Everhopeful76 · 28/07/2017 21:11

stork donor meds for embryo adoption sounds a bit of a red herring add on to me. So how much was the donor egg cycle....8 k plus the meds again?
So looks like we re all set to be serum buddies, with me maybe a month ahead of you??

Welcome londongirl. Am not doing medicated iui due to age and poor fertility but am sure one of the ladies will bob along and tell you their experiences to help you along. Wealth of knowledge on here. Good luck x

pickle162 · 28/07/2017 21:29

Hi londongirl welcome :) I'm on my second medicated iui. Apart from bloating (generally made my ibs worse) I didn't really get any side effects from the meds (I was on suprecur and Menopur)
When is your next scan? Once you have more appointments you'll understand more of the gobbledygook we talk about here :) but any questions put them out there and we'll try to help.

I'm going a little insane in tww, I away now with lots of distraction but just feel like I'm heading for another negative 😔

LondonGirl80 · 28/07/2017 22:08

Hi pickle, good luck with your second round! Can I ask what tww is?

First injection tonight (Gonal F), then back for a scan next Friday. Hopefully insemination itself next Saturday or Monday.

pickle162 · 29/07/2017 06:37

Tww - two week wait
Twot-two weeks of torture
This is the bit after you've had the iui you have to wait 14days (or in my case 18 as I had injections after iui which would give false positive up to a certain date) to do a preg test to see if you have a bfn -big fat negative or bfp-big fat positive
We tend to call it twot round here because it does funny things to time, slows it down massively and any twinge or change in anything you wonder could it have worked and is generally pretty torturous

LondonGirl80 · 29/07/2017 12:00

Thank you so much pickle! That really helps me make sense of the conversation. Crossing my fingers for you all during your twots, hoping for lots of BFPs!

kwick · 29/07/2017 19:39

Way behind! Have found it difficult to read the print this week due to lurgy... still do not feel well but hopefully whatever it was is leaving...

bear good to hear you are enjoying Portugal.

munro Flowers what an arse fcuk. Really sorry for you.
Not too demanding - you go girl!

Thanks ang I am reconciled to going with double donors - just in case it is because I am an old bird

ever so glad you are on your way!

Well done perispan!

Oh stork I do not appear to have done sufficient due diligence on IVI...

Welcome london! What FC are you with?
I have done stimulated IUI with US (Xytex) magic potion. What would you like to know?

Get well soon wonky Flowers

pickle hang in there!!!!

StorkAhoy · 29/07/2017 21:02

kwick I'm Sure you have! I'm just a bugger for being super particular about communication and transparency and it tends to colour my opinion on companies perhaps a little too much. FYI In terms of double donor, they've quoted €6995 plus meds for me at €500, plus €1600 donor meds. For you with your matching requirements ivi or another Spanish clinic is no doubt the best bet as Cyprus and Greek clinics tend to use Eastern block donors for us English ladies, so I've found out this week!

kwick · 30/07/2017 08:19

Thanks stork I really appreciate your comment. I am a stickler with comms too but have got used to lack thereof with CRGH. So so so glad you mentioned the donor thing - I definitely want Spanish!!! 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸

Had a God awful dream last night - where my fixed term contract was not extended... really hope this is not the case!

pickle162 · 30/07/2017 08:26

I think I am out- caved and did an internet cheapie this morning (altho wee looked nearly as clear as water) and can't see any line at all -gonasi injection should still be in my system. Don't think it helped that these tests are 💩and wasn't concentrated urine but don't have a good feeling
Not getting any symptoms whatsoever, the odd twinge left pelvis area which could be anything, bloating is reducing, cm is drying out 😭

pickle162 · 30/07/2017 09:14

Kwick hope your dream doesn't come true 😬
I've emailed my clinic to ask about ivf so I Can gather options for what to do if this cycle works
I can't stand the

pickle162 · 30/07/2017 09:17

Sorry pressed send by accident....

I can't stand the fact that you go through the whole tww and the egg and sperm may never have mated and it's over already but you have to wait so long to find out whereas at least with ivf you know whether they fertilised or not and just have to hope for implantation but obviously more complicated as I can't drive myself to all the appointments

kwick · 30/07/2017 10:50

pickle it ain't over until its over and symptoms dont usually show until well past the 2ww!!!

OP posts:
Bear1980 · 30/07/2017 11:06

Thats the bit I hate most as well pickle. Don't count yourself out yet though I have heard the internet cheapies are not great for reliability.

I have decided 1 more IUI cycle then I will move on to IVF.
