Oh no sorry that was prob bit confusing,I swapped my Friday day off to Wednesday as that's when iui was predicted to be by clinic when booked but if my follies aren't big enough I may well end up having to move the patients back to Wednesday so I can have Friday off but will need to wait till Monday to find out

Bear my lining has done virtually the same 3.5mm to 7.02mm. So least I don't need to worry whether that is going to be thick enough as already is but still more days for growing :)

Oh well 2days 12hours and 45mins till I find out 😫

Juney has af started yet?

ButtonMooooon · 07/07/2017 20:02

Pickle I thought you meant the clinic were moving all the Friday patients to Wednesday, I was confused. Fingers crossed they keep growing!!

Had a call from the clinic today with a potential match. Not right for us this time as it's a shared cycle and we've decided we want exclusive as it'll probably be our only shot. Can't believe it as we've only been on the list for 3 weeks!!

Do we have any donors on this thread or are we all "receivers"? Obviously I know some may be lurking and not posting!!

pickle162 · 07/07/2017 20:35

Yeh realise it read like that, but no my work and my patients may need moving. But I'm paying a fortune out-it will have to happen if required, I did warn work that it might happen when found out dates a while back. It's not ideal and only adds to the stress but fingers crossed my body will behave.

Wow 3weeks button! Hope another donor comes up soon that is happy to do exclusive, your time will come soon :)

I wanted to do egg share but they said I prob wouldn't produce enough eggs to be able to do so, which is a shame-especially as would have made ivf much cheaper-oh well!

ButtonMooooon · 07/07/2017 21:19

We were told at the clinic they've seen people go down the exclusive route and only get 6 eggs (which they then reduce the cost for as they guarantee 8 for exclusive) and then shared ones producing 20 and they end up with 10 each for the same cost. It's £5k for shared and £8k for exclusive so we just think it's worth the risk to do exclusive and get a second chance (and hopefully 20 eggs!!)

Just looking into acupuncture as well now, has anyone done this alongside IVF?

Pez82 · 07/07/2017 21:37

I wonder what drives women to undergo ovarian stimulation to donate all their eggs. Maybe they get their next cycle for free? If not, it does seem a long way from donating blood and they need to be applauded.
I hope you get another match soon button

Stork, thinking of you and your little embies. Sending lots of PMA your way ☺️

LRDtheFeministDragon · 07/07/2017 21:48

At our clinic you get a cycle for free if you donate eggs.

I like the idea of doing it anyway TBH. Someone donated sperm for us. At the moment it looks pretty unlikely, but there was a point when they were saying I'd be a good bet and I wanted to do it.

Plus some clinics pay for IVF if anyone will donate, so you could pay for a cycle for a relative or friend by donating.

ButtonMooooon · 07/07/2017 22:05

People do it just for the money. They've completed their family and want to help others. They're not in the IVF process themselves.

They're very strict with egg donors (cant compare to sperm donors as no experience) but they have to provide 3 generations of medical history or they can't donate. Just to give an example, if their Grandma had breast cancer they cannot donate in case it's hereditary

LRDtheFeministDragon · 07/07/2017 22:24

Is it legal to pay people for donating eggs? I thought you could only receive compensation for costs?

ButtonMooooon · 07/07/2017 22:36

They get £750 per donation cycle at our clinic so I guess that's probably costs, not sure TBH

juneybean · 07/07/2017 23:56

Period did start but I'm feeling more positive today. Also found out my best friend is having a little girl so I'm looking forward to my new niece in December.

I wanted to donate eggs as you get reduced IVF but I'm too fat at the minute and if that's true about breast cancer I'm fucked as both grandmothers had it. But knowing the struggle I've had I'd want to give altruistically once I've had mine.

kwick · 08/07/2017 07:22

stork money is of course an issue but I think the real "hurdle" with twins is the actual extra effort - they wake each other up and so on

Outdoor swim plan thwarted - none of the pools are open due to "chemical inbalance" WTAF?? AngryAngryAngry

pickle hope you are feeling better Flowers
Hope you are doing yoghurt and water thing!

Before coming into this process I would never have donated eggs but now I know how much genetic influence the person who carries the baby has I would... only I have none of quality to give!!!!

stork do you have an update please?

pickle162 · 08/07/2017 08:39

Mummy kwick yes had big bowl of yogurt and grapes last night. Drank 2.5l yesterday, find it easier to drink more when not in work too, out most of weekend but easy places to drink lots :)
Come on little follies!!
Bugger about the pool!!

Oooh yes snork let us know how you get on today. So excited for you

Juney glad af is here, least it signifies new cycle :) I felt relief when af actually came last time as I knew it hadn't worked so just wanted to close that cycle down and move along
Has your guy who donates to you every had his little swimmers tested? Could it be from his side as to why this isn't working?

pickle162 · 08/07/2017 08:46

Oops stork not snork 🙄

Pez82 · 08/07/2017 08:50

I thought of doing a shared cycle at some point to get ivf funded for but unfortunately although I have a good AMH and I'm still under 35 (most clinics age limit), I didn't stand a chance. My gran has breast cancer, her sister died of ovarian cancer. My twin aunties have had ovarian cancer and breast cancer at 50 (both treated and alive) and as a result my mother has had the surgery to get her ovaries and womb removed a few years ago. I've been advised to do the same when I'm through with menopause. I saw a genetics consultant years ago but there wasn't sufficient evidence (!) for them to carry further testing on me. Obviously for a fertility clinic there was more than a bit of evidence of cancer in the same family line 😖.
That's why I chose my donor mostly based on family health history, to try and compensate.

I think it's great others can do it.

Oh no Kwick! Is there an indoor swimming pool you could go to just for this time?

StorkAhoy · 08/07/2017 20:28

Hi all. Back from Wales after picking the kids up. I've got two rounds board right now.

I ended up with 2 early blastocysts which, had they had an extra few hours in the incubator, it was expected they'd have become full blastocysts. So on advice on from the embryologist they both went in, with assisted hatching and embryoglue!

I have three more still in the incubator as they weren't ready to grade for freezing (lazy 5day embryos acting and looking like 4 day embryos!) they stay in there till they grow, or cease growing.

Thanks for all the thoughts and kind words, test day is 21 st.....

pickle162 · 08/07/2017 21:01

Eeek stork so excited for you and love the "picking up the kids" bit, so cute! Will keep everything crossed for you :) hope the other 3 end up being able to go in the freezer

Bear1980 · 08/07/2017 21:03

Ooo stork how exciting fingers crossed at least 1 is sticky 🤞🏻

ButtonMooooon · 08/07/2017 22:39

Exciting times Storm fingers crossed!!

Just got home from a rare night out with DH (10.30pm rock n roll!) for no other reason than we had a willing babysitter. Had a bit of a heart to heart and he said he wished his Mum showed half the interest in DS that my Mum does (DH even refers to my Mum as his favourite Grandma). Made me so sad for him that it will be the same this time (if it works) as he's not the golden child his brother is (there's probably a whole MIL thread in AIBU if I could be bothered Envy)

juneybean · 09/07/2017 09:42

Wheee stork you're PUPO!! Fingers crossed for the twins Wink

Aww button that's awful :( least he's got you? My wife is the same she gets upset that my family accepted her more than her family.

Pez82 · 09/07/2017 10:22

Stork, I'm so excited for you, this cycle looks very promising. Fingers crossed for a few frosties too, personally it really helped me during the TWW (and the weeks since) to know I have some siblings in the freezer should anything go wrong. 2 new babies on board on the thread yay!
Remember that even if it's hot not to drink ice cold drinks or eat ice lollies, you need to keep all the blood flow to your womb 😉
Not sure you need the socks this time though!!!

StorkAhoy · 09/07/2017 13:36

Thanks all and yes pez no socks needed!

Alas, the three embies didn't make it to the freezer. Much like the other two rounds. So no pressure for the two that are onboard right now #tigermum!

It seems this is what happens with me. So if these little guys don't make it, it makes next steps very clear in my mind at least.

But I'm praying and meditating that these guys do work.

kwick · 09/07/2017 16:11

You are a good girl Pickle!

Pez it was all of the pools - Park Road has 1 massive outdoor pool, then 3 indoor pools - every pool was shut Angry anyway I had a nice day all the same (napping on the sofa and then a sleepover after getting ny haircut). Today we have gone to the allotment - hopefully I am keeping my tan up!

Well done Stork!!! The 2WW it is for you! Shall I share my "patent pending" tips again?
Lots of visualising please!!
