Hey all. I've been following in the background. Sound like a lot of frustration with admin. I went through that last summer and as a result I switched clinics, which brought its own headaches. I swear most of my stress revolved around scheduling.

ldr push push push. You need an answer and a plan.

I just got the result of my anatomy scan. I'm 20weeks 4 days, and that puts my due date back to my original date of November 5th, my puppy's first birthday. Oh, and it's a girl! The scan came back clear for any abnormalities. So relieved.

Hugs to you all. The stress never ends, you just have different things to worry about.

Bear1980 · 22/06/2017 16:35

Aww thats good news karen my sister also just had her 20 week scan and it is also a girl 😀

PhoenixMama · 22/06/2017 16:48

Congratulations Karen! I love having a girl! (Most of the time lol!)

Snorkmaiden85 · 22/06/2017 17:41

Congratulations Karen! That is wonderful. So glad everything looks OK.

Pez82 · 22/06/2017 18:03

Congratulations Karen!! So it's another girl on the thread!!! You're right the stress never ends but I feel I'm googling less at the moment so that must mean I'm relaxing a bit. So glad everything is going well x

kwick · 22/06/2017 18:35

Ooops! Well behind on thread!

Nice to see you back on the thread ever

munro great news about donor! 🤞🏼for the magic to happen.

Welcome back button
Great news about donor wait list.

LRD this is the right place to share.
Unfortunately we pretty much all seem to have fallen foul of admin fuck ups - I was given the wrong meds in my first IUI cycle (and there have been more fucks up).
Personally I would slap the NHS campaigner and excommunicate your family... but then I am known for my dramatic gestures Grin
Do what Pez says

snork Flowers fuckwits the lot of them!!

karen how lovely - a girl!!!!

I was very impressed with my new Clinic & the consultant but after some email exhanges this week not quite as impressed as she failed to answer a critical question (when can I start again)... never mind I know it is still a bit too soon - but if I drop more weight at my next SW weigh in I will badger her for an answer.

I went swimming in the lido in Park Road yesterday - it was glorious. Did an hour of lane swimming and felt so good after. Witch I thought of you 😘

Sorry so far behind...will try and catch up

Welcome back button 😊 good luck with the new plan of action

LRD sorry things are so tough, it's hard enough doing this. Don't let anyone make you feel back (family or not) for having your feelings and concerns. Unfortunately we all want things to move along at our speed rather than the speed that things happen but it doesn't mean you shouldn't feel concerned or upset

Munro yay for the red hair donor, how are you feeling?

Eek stork how exciting, glad things are moving along ok and baseline scan was ok :)

Snork big hugs :) how you feeling about things now?

Awe Karen huge congratulations, a lovely little girl and half way wahoooo :)

So tomorrow is my last day of norethisterone, injections come on Saturday and then the waiting game for af -hoping it doesn't come too soon or too late

Hope everyone is ok, I'm looking forward to the weekend :)

ButtonMooooon · 22/06/2017 20:57

So we're now officially on the donor egg waiting list. Eeeeeekkkkkkkkk Grin

One thing we have taken away from today is we are definitely going to raise a concern over the statistics our previous clinic gave us. We found it all confirmed in writing in our notes today with the clinic. They said if we had attended there with that AMH level they would have recommended straight to egg donation.

They have suggested waiting until this current process is over so I don't put myself under undue stress

I really need to go back and try and catch up with the thread but everyone is on such different journeys (which is amazing in itself!) it's difficult to keep track Grin

pickle162 · 22/06/2017 21:07

Wahooooo congratulations button hope you don't have to wait too long

Bear1980 · 22/06/2017 21:18

Yay button I hope you don't have a long wait. You should def raise with last clinic as it sounds like they just wasted your time and money. Good luck

ButtonMooooon · 22/06/2017 21:24

They only have a 2-4 month wait Shock

kwick · 23/06/2017 07:45

Fab news button!!!
And I agree you should sue the fcuk out of the other clinic - only once you have baby in your arms.
#kwickisgettingmilitant

Just watched "Diana" (again) - woke up at 5am and could not sleep - just find it heart wrenching that she was not able to see more of her kids after separation. I know if I have a baby I just will never be able to let it go.

Happy Friday everyone!!!

PhoenixMama · 23/06/2017 11:39

What's Diana Kwik?

TinyPaws · 23/06/2017 14:51

How's everyone doing today? I'm relieved it's cooler - finally got a good sleep last night!

I'm still waiting for my initial appointment. I phoned the hospital this week. It took A LOT of attempts to get though (nobody picks up, then you get an answerphone recording with no option to leave a message).

Eventually I did get through and the lady confirmed my referral has been received and is currently with the doctors for assessment. She also suggested my partner may need to provide a semen sample and seemed confused when I said that wouldn't be possible... surely they must get a fair few lesbians referred in?

Appointment should be through any day now, apparently... fingers crossed

kwick · 23/06/2017 18:13

The film made about Princess Diana phoenix

Well done on your follow-up tiny I reckon we should all group together and start are own FC which puts customer excellence at the heart of what it does.... I really cannot understand why so many clinics fcuk up with the admin... I mean IS IT THAT HARD??????

Planning on going home and stuffing my face with an SW friendly meal and watch TV (and maybe give myself a facial - mahoosive spot has appeared on upper lip).
Here's to the weekend 🥂!!!

pickle162 · 24/06/2017 07:43

@TinyPaws glad you have finally managed to get to speak to someone. Very shortsighted of the woman not to think of same sex partners or single people 🙄
Hopefully soon your appointments will come 😊

Kwick that would be fab, our own fc clinic, apart from some of the complete fcuk ups a lot of it is about managing expectations. I haven't really had any complete screw ups but if I'd been told certain things in advance I would have been more prepared that I might not be able to do every other cycle cos of dates and that depends on how many others are cycling etc.

My injections are being delivered between 8-10am today, hoping my alternative to pregnyl managed to get put in. I think the clinic handled it well, it wasn't their fault there is production problem but at least there was a solution.

@Bear1980 you must be coming near to the end of your tww? How you doing?

@PhoenixMama hope your doing ok

Hi everyone else, it's the weekend wahoooo

LRDtheFeministDragon · 24/06/2017 09:04

tiny, that's ridiculous.

But it does ring true with my experiences, both with DP and with me. They're constantly utterly bemused by us.

Case in point - having waited two weeks trying to chase the clinic's letter to my GP, I find they've lost it. Hand delivered another letter to the GP, and flagged up the fact that the letter mentions both me and my female DP, but that it's me, the patient, who needs to be referred to NHS hospital.

Guess what we got through the letterbox yesterday? Yep, a letter addressed to DP from the hospital, referring to 'your recent GP consultation'.

Had to ring to ask for it to be changed. The thing that worries me is that this cyst is getting bigger, and they've wasted two weeks plus, and now the appointment is the end of July. That could be the same wait I'd have had anyway, but there's the added complication that, if they think it's DP coming in for surgery, they might be expecting a different medical history, as she's recovering from a C-section and surgery on her ovaries would be more complicated.

So, I'm waiting for them to ring me back on Monday, but so far the helpful receptionist listened to me explain they'd got me and my female partner mixed up and observed 'well, the appointment must be for you, because it's with gynaecology'. Hmm

They just can't get their minds around the fact we're both women and both have ovaries.

kwick · 24/06/2017 09:31

FFS LRD any chance you can change to a different GP? Sounds like the one you have now has only 1 brain cell which they are sharing with the receptionist...

AF arrived this morning - think it is early but I am glad not to be late again - hope I am not peri-menopausal...

Oh, that made me laugh!

One of the receptionists is really lovely, to be fair. We're all registered at the same practice, but I am thinking I might change because it's just a constant battle. I started trying to get fertility treatment in January - you'd think by June they'd have got further than this.

pickle162 · 24/06/2017 09:43

😡😡😡LRD it just gets worse!!!! And why do these dramas always occur just before a weekend when you can't speak to anyone for another few days 🙄

All injections including new ones have been delivered yayyyyy

juneybean · 24/06/2017 09:46

Blimey lrd I can't believe how inept they're being. Are you paying privately for fertility treatment? (Sorry not entirely sure of your history)

Anyone any good with charting? I think I ovulated Thursday as Fridays temp was up but today's has been a bit crap? So wondering if yesterday's was higher because DW woke me an hour or so before temping and maybe it's a slow rise?

#makeithappen TTC through Donor IUI or Donor IVF or just undecided. All welcome. Thread 9
juneybean · 24/06/2017 09:47

Great news for your injections pickle!

Pez82 · 24/06/2017 10:06

LRD, it makes me cringe so much reading the story. And the last bit from the receptionist assuming the appointment is for you as with a gynaecologist is just too much! All a bit of a farce and I feel for you

Juney, I think I'm the resident temping expert on the thread (can I claim this title kwick please?).
So it looks like you did ovulate on Thursday and got the spike the day after. Your temp this morning is good, temps don't necessarily climb up after ovulation, as long as they're maintained above your cover line it's fine. However your temps prior to O are a bit hectic. Do you always temp at the same time and after a few 3-4 solid hours of sleep?
Your cover line would seem to be around 36.1 which is not high. I used to get temps below 36 before I was put on levothyroxine for my underperforming thyroid. Have you had this checked?

TinyPaws · 24/06/2017 10:35

Bloody hell LRD! Is it really that hard?!

Maybe they need to clip a message to the front of your file that says "THIS PATIENT AND HER PARTNER BOTH HAVE OVARIES".

And one to the front of mine that says "THIS PATIENT'S PARTNER HAS NO TESTICLES".

LRDtheFeministDragon · 24/06/2017 10:44

Thanks for the sympathy, everyone. At least it is quite funny, in a daft way.

juney - sorry, I don't know about charting!

tiny, it is daft! Word of warning, though - it gets seriously stupid when you actually have the baby (IME). When DP was in labour I got told to get off the ward, ticked off for being there, shut out, and all sorts. The team in the recovery ward after her C section thought I was a midwife, and the ward after that kept assuming I was stealing food for my male partner against the rules. Hmm We thought we'd been super-clear about being lesbians but next time I think we'd have t-shirts printed.
