I have an early scan booked for 12th June at the clinic. I'll be just under 8 weeks then.
I need to sit and read back some comments to try and catch up little x

StorkAhoy · 23/05/2017 08:55

Hi all. first, anyone in Manchester or affected by it, my heart goes out to you this morning. How people can do this and ascribe it to their God is beyond me, this was the action of a man, a coward. May this guy burn in the depths of hell of the god he is fighting against. xxx

in lighter tones: my friend went to the Baby Show at the NEC at the weekend and oh my! the discounts are amazeballs apparently!! They got many of the big items there and saved loads.

calz congrats - this is superb news!

pickle162 · 23/05/2017 19:32

Stork it's utterly tragic and so many little people there 😔 it's too too close to home and where does it stop.

The babyshow is also on in Olympia in October so may go there if I'm pregnant by then. Heard they are fab

StorkAhoy · 23/05/2017 20:07

If there's a few of us who want to go, maybe a day out?!

pickle162 · 23/05/2017 20:31

Yeh def. I've signed up for the newsletter so it'll notify me when the tickets are out. So I will update as and when :)

Snorkmaiden85 · 23/05/2017 21:46

Hi gang!

Sorry for going silent, work has been making me anxious/taking up all my brain energy so I've totally lost track of the thread! Work being stressful is a blessing and a curse, it's making me anxious but is at least distracting me from my impatience.... Just trying to hang in there until the end of the week as I've got next week off, nearly there!

How's all the two week waits going??

calz that's fab news, super pleased for you. Hurrah for more BFPs!

I've got my pre-op consultation tomorrow for the laparoscopy, hoping that I can get it booked in so I can at least know when it will be...

Snorkmaiden85 · 23/05/2017 21:52

Paisley, so sorry this time wasn't your time. Hope you can get the rest you need so you feel ready to think about next steps x

PhoenixMama · 23/05/2017 21:55

How you holding up Bear?

Bear1980 · 24/05/2017 06:09

I'm coping thanks phoenix just a fw more days (and another busy weekend) before my test.
I think I am fairly realistic about the chances of success first time round and to a certain extent the outcome has already been decided juat don't know the outcome yet.

How are you feeling now, hipe your cold has eased somewhat. When is your test date again?

kwick · 24/05/2017 07:46

I am still keeping my 🤞🏼 for those in the 2ww.

@Snorkmaiden85 I hope your appt goes well.

Decided to take bus to work today due to increased security...

Keeping everything crossed for the two week waiters! PMA ladies 💪💪💪
(Although I get also having to have a wee voice of realism too just for self preservation)

PhoenixMama · 24/05/2017 08:06

Test day is Friday (3 days before the witch is due). Cold is a bit better - but I've also screwed up my back/hip so had to see the GP yesterday as had no idea what to take. Put me on some strong (preggo friendly!) drugs. Physio today so hopefully I'll be right as rain tomorrow! The wait is killing me!

pickle162 · 24/05/2017 09:11

8days and 20hours till I can test....getting there :)

Calz81 · 24/05/2017 09:18

Aw so the tww are close! Keeping my fingers crossed for you all. Xx
I tried to read back some but haven't managed to read that much.

tygr · 24/05/2017 12:43

Just had a voicemail from CRGW - my AMH levels have come back as very high for my age. Woohoo. The relief.

So, next decision is whether to spend £300 on the HSG test. There's nothing to suggest that there should be any problems. I'll ring the clinic in a bit. I was driving so couldn't answer the phone.

pickle162 · 24/05/2017 13:08

What was your AMH level?. Glad everything ok :)

Snorkmaiden85 · 24/05/2017 13:17

Woop tygr great news about your AMH! I think my clinic do the HSG as standard for IUI - I was told that usually this would be done to check tubes are clear, but that in my case it might not show if there are any problems due to previous appendix surgery/complications I've had - I'm therefore having a have a laparoscopy which is ten times the price of the HSG!

I think in your position I would want to have the HSG - my thinking was that if I'm going to be investing lots of money into the IUIs it seems like a good idea to check that going down the iui route wouldn't be a total waste of time first, i'd rather find out if there is a problem now than after several unsuccessful attempts. But I wasn't really presented it as an option so just assumed checking tubes was a step I'd have to go through, sounds like this might be different in other clinics? Not sure what everyone else did? I just like to have as much info as possible about what's going on (hence why I'm forking out for the laparoscopy...) but that might be because I am anal :)

Sorry that's probably not helpful! I would definitely speak to the clinic and see what they think :)

tygr · 24/05/2017 13:39

pickle when he took the blood he said that the results come back as Low, Normal or High so to get Very High is very encouraging. I presume that the clinic/lab get an actual number but categorise it accordingly. It's for my age - which is 40 - but a relief that I haven't left it too late on that front.

I can't remember whether it's recommended or required to have the HSG - I'll have to ask. It's a reassurance to have it but as everything else is working as it should I'm now confident that that will come back clear too and it's £300 that I could spend on the iui or sperm.

Calz81 · 24/05/2017 17:15

@tygr the results of the amh is fab. HSG is that that hycosy, to check your tubes are good? At the LWC it's an option rather than a requirement. I ended up doing mine after 2 failed iui's but all was good.

pickle162 · 24/05/2017 17:29

Ah cool, that's so good tygr very exciting. I didn't have hycosy as the consultant said not to bother as no risk factors for tubal problems but every clinic offers different advice.

Snorkmaiden85 · 24/05/2017 18:07

Ah, maybe they were just being cautious with me cus of my medical history. I know what you mean about it being £300 you could spend on sperm/iui, it adds up so much!

pickle162 · 24/05/2017 18:26

I really think it depends on the clinic and consultant snork they all vary soooo much
@Snorkmaiden85 how did ur pre op go?

Work is a great distraction from the tww and last 3 days haven't been too bad, altho have been feeling quite nauseous all week which isn't pleasant but polls are helping. Just over 8 days to go-just being in single figures is great, the end is just about in sight :) sunshine really helps too

kwick · 24/05/2017 19:57

Well done @tygr!!!

HSG is a hycosy right? If so - do it!!! Will confirm all okay and give your fertility a boost!
I did not have mine until after about 7 treatments...

Was that a symptom there @pickle162 Wink?

OP posts:
tygr · 24/05/2017 20:10

How would it give my fertility a boost kwick? Does it flush everything out?!

I'll ring the clinic and talk it through. AF is due any day and the consultant said to ring on Day 1 if I want it done so they can book it in during the Day 6-10 window.

Calz81 · 24/05/2017 20:14

@tygr they reckon it flushes the tubes and some women fall after if they've tried before and failed. How true I'm not sure though I did fall after I had mine. Who knows if that was connected. If in any doubt get it done so your mind is at ease.
