Prompted by the repeat showing of their acoustic show on sky, made me watch the DVD which I think was filmed in 1989 or summat, marvelous anyway. Love the Pixies so much, they make me do dancing when drunk, which isn't really a good thing

Dinosaur Junior, they were ace. Don't remember Daniel Dax though......I had a Momus thing for a while and the Ozric Tentacles, saw them live 3 times!!!

glammama · 12/11/2007 13:33

Gosh, that was such a mum thing to write Dinosaur Junior

Wisteria · 12/11/2007 13:35

Actually bought an Ozric album last year... Momus were wonderful and Danielle Dax here I saw on an old interior design prog, one of the competitive things a few years back which amused me greatly at the time.

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 13:36

Ahhhh - Freakscene is one of my favourite ever snigles.

Loved Kitchens of Distinction too.

Anyone here remember McCarthy?

Wisteria · 12/11/2007 13:37

yes!

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 13:37

Used to see Daniella Dax in the crowd a lot at the Town & Country!

glammama · 12/11/2007 13:38

Ah, yes Danielle Dax. Think I can detect a little of Lush's influences there. Ultra Vivid Scene, anyone?

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 13:38

I loved McCarthy - fantastic lyrics.

DaDaDa · 12/11/2007 13:40

Loved McCarthy. Communist indiepop. God I was right-on back then.

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 13:40

Yes, me too. Sadly I've ended up in the City. Drinking Song of the Merchant Bankers, anyone?

hellish · 12/11/2007 13:42

Oh glammama - I loved the Fieldmice, Sarah records - takes me back. I saw them in Derby one night with my best friend. (could cry now I miss him alot).

Does anyone remember who made the record " It's On You Sonia"?

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 13:44

No, it doesn't ring any bells.

glammama · 12/11/2007 13:46

sorry, hellish, don't know....
Thanks for brightening up my Monday everyone. I have to go now so thought I' d say goodbye with this

DaDaDa · 12/11/2007 13:48

Not with me or Google either. Could it be a misheard lyric, like 'I feel Sue Lawley' by the Police?

Dinosaur, don't feel too guilty, I also serve The Man, but in a support role.

Wisteria · 12/11/2007 13:49

Don't remember that Hellish....I miss all my friends from that era and sadly most of them appear too grown up to frequent the Facebook halls

I too will finish my essay today so depart for a short while. Will leave you with this, one of my all time favourites, always makes me cry!

here

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 13:49

Nah, I can't afford to feel all that guilty!

Lol at "Sue Lawley" - I remember that!

I know they were very mainstream but I did like the first two Police albums a lot.

DaDaDa · 12/11/2007 13:54

Actually, The Man is calling me to do some bloody work, so I'll leave too.

Here's my final word; has nothing to do with the orginal thread but everyone should love The Go Betweens

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 13:55

Oh yes.

And The Chills.

And The Triffids.

aDadGoneMad · 12/11/2007 13:56

Black Swan by triffids was regular bed-time listening for me.

blue aeroplanes - swagger album?

this thread is bringing back so many memories!

southeastastra · 12/11/2007 13:56

weird, i've just found a triffids cd to play in the car today!

hellish · 12/11/2007 13:57

OMG now you've got me searching to old Sarah songs on YouTube.

I must stop - have to so an application form and only have 2 hours.

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 14:00

Very good music to be down to, The Triffids.

Just changing the subject completely, does anyone remember Kurt Cobain's fantastic cover of Where Did You Sleep Last Night? I remember seeing it when it was originally broadcast and just being completely electrified by it, blown away. Am pleased to see it is shortly being released on DVD and may have to ask Santa for it .

southeastastra · 12/11/2007 14:03

we have that on an mtv unplugged cd dinosaur

i find the triffids quite cheery

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 14:04

Really?

I think I am just getting a bit too lachrymose in my old age...
