A couple of threads that I had posted on relating to the Memoir ‘Coming Clean’ by Liz Fraser have been deleted from the MN site, apparently due to non-compliance of the MN guidelines from the posters. MN are obviously well within their rights to delete threads if they demonstrably fail to comply with their guidelines, nevertheless I feel strongly that MN posters are given a platform to critique this book, and also any other public ventures by this author. It would be neither fair nor right that posters are completely silenced in this particular matter.

As such, and in line with Mumsnet not seeing “anything wrong with honest feedback” I would like to make the comment that Coming Clean as a Memoir falls short due to the shaky and not entirely truthful narrative. There are certain facts contained within this memoir that are easily disprovable (for example, relating to the marital status of both author and her partner when they started their ill-fated affair), which leaves a massive question mark over the rest of the book. Is it entirely reasonable to make money from something that is promoted as truthful when it is, in fact, not entirely true?

I think there are people whose lives have been negatively impacted by the book and its subject matter, and I hope that MN will agree that these people should have a voice, as should anybody who wants to comment on a published piece of work.

As long as posters align their comments with the MN guidelines, this is a topic that people may wish to keep discussing, and also keep in the public domain. And if MN wants to provide a set of rules particular to this thread – certainly if they are arbitrary and differ from the general guidelines - I am sure it would be very helpful.

Mumsnet, please help us to help each other by keeping in the public domain something that us silenced mums feel should be out there.

Who on earth would want to take advice (on anything, but certainly not health - mental or otherwise - or parenting) from this utter fruit loop?

If you are advertising yourself as a copy editor would you not start with your own website which is LITTERED with errors and inconsistencies? It’s shocking.

Two more questions. Bestsellers in what categories? And why headline your site as writer, broadcaster, publisher when there are no details or evidence of your ‘publishing’ and wedgie press is a brief fantasy that got no further than some homemade business cards?

So another day when L has spent time working on her website but, it’s still got spelling mistakes. Grammatical errors littered throughout. Forget the photos focus on the words dear. There is one glaring spelling mistake. I really thought after the retreat and website work a few weeks ago it would be amended. But, nope it’s still there.

And seriously what must her kids feel like when they read this sort of stuff about one of her books.

Sorry @Intriguedbythis - I still think the most unhinged episode was the sinister sausages of scorn posts when Mike once managed to escape for a few days. I still giggle about it to this day!

The message she is intending can be read in many ways, including that she’s implying that Mike is a rapist or paedophile and the family court is, regardless, forcing Scout to spend extended time with him. She has regularly spoken of her shortened life expectancy and suicidal thoughts because of THINGS.

However, without let up this summer, she’s espoused the wonders of being child free and rather than stay close by to be immediately available to Scout, she’s traveled, you’ll have to check her posts for exactly which countries, extensively.

What’s the true story Liz?

Also surely this is slander? She’s absolutely throwing this out there for everyone to assume it’s him? If these things were true, the happiness/JOY etc at having time for herself would be spent fighting for her daughter’s welfare surely rather than going on about how wonderful her life is? I hope Mike does see those posts - what message is she giving to her poor child if that’s what she’s feeding to strangers on the web? (I know we don’t know what goes on behind closed doors but if she was concerned for s’s welfare then the blissed out solo posts x hundreds are in very poor taste)

Agreed. I hope someone accidentally sends it to him. And how can she claim to be so blissfully happy if she's sitting around worrying about this situation (which is clearly not a situation). Also, if, again, she's prepared to take shots at her ex like this, she's very far from happy in her SOLO and INDEPENDENT life and she still can't let things go. It's definitely aimed at him as she never posts abuse stuff in support of OTHER women - it's been mentioned on here time and again. It's always all about her.
