Any Scottish parents out there that applied for 'Scottish child payment' had any information back?

Just to update, I checked on mine again today, its now approved and payment plus backdate will be made by next Tuesday. Just need to add the older child on.

No your backpayment is different from your usual, you might find your usual 100 in your bank on Monday then itll be every 4 weeks from then. If you go on webchat they'll tell you when your normal payment is due

How are people getting updates? I phoned and they wouldnt even take my name, apparently a text to say application was received was enough. This was back in Nov. I work my ass off and get no maintenance so this will be a big extra help for me. Feels like i will never get it. 😥

I got that message tho they took my details as I had put my first and last name around the wrong way.

I think the updates are with regards to identification checks and bank account verifications that are required when they are processing the app. I am the same applied 14/11 and nothing except a message to say received via text. Xx

Your application should be dealt with, we're onto applications made on the 15th of november now

You'll have the payment long before the letter so it doesn't really matter 😆

I went on chat and all he could say was that my application has been looked at, that it is processing and he couldn't give me any info in regards to when i will receive any payments. So it's clearly no where near being processed. If i do get anything it will probably be end of Feb for me.

Just for anyone else still waiting, if you applied a while back and haven't heard anything, I strongly suggest you get in touch with them to check what's happening.

I applied in November and hadn't heard anything other than the texts/emails to say they'd received my application and no need to contact them.

Today I went onto web chat and it turns out they were 'unable to determine responsibility benefit' and had denied the application. I asked why I wasn't contacted and they said I should have been sent a letter, but there was a system error and the letter was suppressed.

I get Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit, so there shouldn't have been an issue determining responsibility. And of course their system failing to send a letter is completely unacceptable.

They've done a redetermination request for me so now I have to wait another 16 days to see if they can process it correctly this time.

So, if you applied a while back and haven't heard anything, please contact them!

I’m Stirling but not sure that makes a difference, just think the length of time it’s taking is ridiculous. The man who called didn’t even specify where he was calling from - I’ve also applied for disability for my son too so had to wait in a 45 minute phone queue to ask why he’d phoned to then send Id in, she wouldn’t tell me why or how long. Not expecting anything now as just seems odd I applied on 16 November

There were over 90,000 applications. People need to be patient. You cant miss money you've never had
