Any Scottish parents out there that applied for 'Scottish child payment' had any information back?

Only to say it was being processed. I received my first payment today of £50 which equates to 2 weeks money. I applied about 8.45am on the day applications opened .

Thelonelychicken · 30/11/2022 19:16

I was already receiving it for two under 6 but added my dd to it. Had a letter through 2 weeks later saying its all been done. Been paid it too

Cece92 · 30/11/2022 21:17

Thank you both :) I applied on the day too but not heard a peep. Hopefully soon every little helps at the minute :) xx

I added my two older children on the 14th of November and received the award letter today.
No payment as of yet.
How long after receiving the letter did you receive the payment?

CombatBarbie · 01/12/2022 00:46

Applied on the day and had a text on 16th saying its been sent successfully. Nothing since.

Cece92 · 01/12/2022 08:29

I imagine with the high numbers it will take a bit longer to process. I've not had any letters just a. Email and text to say they got my application on the 15th I received these xx

Cece92 · 01/12/2022 17:02

I've just got another text to say there's high volume of applicants, will be contacted if needed.

Guesswhosbackagain · 12/12/2022 14:12

Did anyone get a text to say there application had been processed? I actually work for SSS but obviously not allowed to check my own record and I'm still waiting to hear back about adding my older child on and I've had my payment for this month

Cece92 · 12/12/2022 21:57

@Guesswhosbackagain I've still not had it. Had a text to say they are processing but nothing since that was 2 weeks ago. I applied on the day it opened. I know people who applied after me and they have had their payments. Guess it's just a waiting game xx

Hi @Guesswhosbackagain I chatted SSS today. The agent said my application had been received by them on 1/12 and was in the queue to be worked. He said can take 30 days to be processed. Depends when an advisor pulls it from the queue. I told him I applied on 14/11 and he said I will be backdated until then :) not sure if you can get a colleague to look at yours xxx

I applied 8:10am on the 14th and had about 30(!) texts - think their systems went bonkers. Had fist payment 2nd December and a letter yesterday to say 4-weekly.

ShinyPikachu · 15/12/2022 13:41

I applied on 18/11 and got a text on Friday saying they had my application and there's been a high volume of applications so it's taking longer to process them. Yesterday I got another saying that again and that it might be early 2023 before I hear anything from them but payments will be backdated to when I applied from.

CatOclock · 15/12/2022 13:44

I got mine today, £100. Applied the day after applications opened and had 2 texts, one saying received and one last week saying its being processed.
Unfortunately I've lost my purse and had to cancel all my cards so I can't actually access any money atm without a trip to the city centre since they closed all the branches. Great timing for Christmas Hmm.

Cece92 · 15/12/2022 17:48

@CatOclock you have been lucky you get yours quickly. I applied the 14/11 it opened and haven't had mines. I got texts, the guy said he can see I applied 14/11 - they received my application on 1/12 updated my bank details and then it's a case of waiting for a case worker to pull my application from the queue. Such a pain you have had to cancel your cards though especially before Xmas :( and with the postal strikes too xxx

Guesswhosbackagain · 15/12/2022 18:01

@Cece92 no we're not allowed to check each others records unfortunately! I suppose it's just a waiting game. It would come in handy before christmas but even better after christmas my next scottish child payment is due on the 8th of January so hopefully its done for then. I know the system is only releasing so many per night

Cece92 · 15/12/2022 18:06

My friend already gets it for her wee girl so added her 12 year old to her claim. She got a letter about it but told it will be added to her next payment on 28th so she will get 6 weeks payment for her eldest. You might be the same hun @Guesswhosbackagain xxx

I think I got my first payment today my national insurance number then SS for £25. No backdate though I applied on the 19th November

bloodyeverlastinghell · 17/12/2022 08:44

I received a text confirming application. One saying they’ve updated bank details. Last one saying lots of applicants and they are busy. I applied the day applications opened.

Cece92 · 17/12/2022 11:55

If it is that @Coconut212 then £25 is definitely not correct. It's weird how they are doing it. The only people I know personally who applied all applied after me and have received their payments already. I am grateful for the extra money but as we all know things are so rough with pricing of things and everyone's feeling the pinch really xxx

Coconut212 · 17/12/2022 14:29

My friend received hers today but received £75

gliiterryballs · 17/12/2022 14:35

I applied on the 14th Nov although didn't get email to say it had been revived until the next day. I got an email the other day saying it may be early 2023 by the time it's paid due to high demand

gliiterryballs · 17/12/2022 14:38

Sorry it wasn't an email it was a text update!
