So instead of waiting in the queue I just selected the callback option and I'm just off the phone now. It took about 1.5 hours for the callback so I'm glad I didn't sit waiting tbh.

It was exactly what you said @Mentallydrainedmum - they just had to check the account number for security reasons. Hopefully that's all they need, fingers crossed.

My application went in on 18th November btw so it sounds like everyone is working as hard as they can to get through the applications as I wasn't expecting ours to be getting worked on yet if they were doing them chronologically (and our surname is towards the end of the alphabet if that is another factor at all, I know someone suggested that before).

Mentallydrainedmum · 03/02/2023 17:37

@ShinyPikachu yeah i thought thats would it be, every application i process needs the account details verified! The applications are done in date order

ShinyPikachu · 03/02/2023 17:44

Hopefully that's a good sign for everyone in here waiting who applied before me then. Smile

The man on the phone said the same thing about how most of the calls are just for confirming the bank details. I can hardly see my sort code and account number on my debit card now (it expires in a few months so I'll have a shiny new one soon) so thanks for mentioning that as I was able to use my phone to zoom in and write the numbers down before the phone call. He probably wasn't expecting me to have those numbers as quickly as I did. Grin

I wish it was the case that they were working in date order but I applied on the 14th and have still never heard a word since the 15th when they said application received 😕

I am in the same boat. Feb now and still nothing. Yet theres folk already in receipt moaning about payment dates and backpayments when some of us have had zilch.

Chrissy12344 · 03/02/2023 23:08

I feel that, don't get me wrong I'm happy people are getting but they are then calling and blocking up the phones to check if their payments are right or wrong and that means our applications take longer to process sitting in a queue ... I haven't contacted them at all been waiting patiently but beginning to think the quiet ones get left to the end 🤔

ShinyPikachu · 03/02/2023 23:42

I've not contacted them at all about ours as I didn't want to jam the lines so I've been a quiet one too.

I've had a few texts and emails just to say they're still processing applications etc and I only had to phone them today (my first time phoning) because I had missed a call from them first and the voicemail asked me to call back. I know they'd be able to work on things faster if everyone was quiet but I can understand why people are panicking too when it's taken so long. I still don't know when we'll see a payment even though we've had to confirm details.

Here are the emails I've had (name blanked out). I had a text at the same time as each email.

Chrissy12344 · 04/02/2023 08:36

@ShinyPikachu I totally understand you calling if you have missed a call from then as clearly they need to speak to you, but others calling to check if their payments are right or when they will get their backpay is delaying everyone else's claims.

I personally haven't received any email or text at all from the day they said my application was received, not even an email or text to say they are delayed 😔

We are doing the applications in date order and are now onto the 16th. Was yours a fresh application or adding older children onto an already active claim? If it was a fresh application your best phoning and seeing whats going on

Chrissy12344 · 04/02/2023 10:48

@Mentallydrainedmum I thought it should have been processed as a new application, I did claim previously for my youngest but stopped getting for her over a year ago when she turned 6. So once they increased the age I made a new application for both of my younger children.

I applied on the 14th and have heard nothing since text on Dec 13th. Looks like I'll have to phone them 😩

Shopper727 · 05/02/2023 16:25

I had to send Id, which I did but now tax credits comes up that I get nil so they want my most recent letter, which I cannot find anywhere I’ve got every other one and the reminder thing but not the one I need
I’ve uploaded bank statements and what I’ve got but they’ve not said they have been received and it took me ages to get them to send. Am actually demented with it now, why on earth couldn’t it just say that I get tax credits as I do. I applied on 16th so will need to call them tomorrow.

Yogybear25 · 06/02/2023 09:03

Hi I got a text to say they had updated the address they held for my kids. Does this mean they are processing my claim applied 16/11 had 2 texts one to say received and one explaining they are busy do they text to say they are processing your claim

TinkerbellS90 · 06/02/2023 12:37

Iv still not had anything I contacted them via the Web chat but was told it hasn't been passed on yet that's 10 weeks now so I'm guessing I still have a long wait sadly but I know they are all doing there best to get through it all so I won't bother them again I'll just wait until it comes through fingers crossed its not to long

LadyLexy · 06/02/2023 13:49

I’ve just received txts to say they have updated my eldest children’s addresses. What does that mean is it getting processed? Is it done? 12 weeks nearly waiting better be backdated.

LadyLexy · 06/02/2023 22:21

I done a web chat to ask about my application to be told my older children will be added and will be included in my next payment in March & can’t say when I will get my back dated payment least I got an answer to one of my questions just have to wait till March now.

ShinyPikachu · 07/02/2023 11:12

I've just had another phone call to confirm my bank details again. The woman did apologise with how long things were taking but said because my application is being worked on it should be faster now (although she couldn't say when we would hear the decision which I wasn't expecting to be told yet anyway).

I don't know if my call back was passed on now or not since I was called again but at least I still had my bank details to hand after last time. Grin

Chrissy12344 · 08/02/2023 18:13

So I sent a message on the Web chat today asking about my application and it turns out its not even being processed. They said I completed a change of circumstances form instead of a new application which is not the case. On the 14th of November I completed a new application cause I knew I stopped getting SCP a year ago. They informed me today I have to complete a new application again or wait for them to manually create a new application in their system. I've checked on the website and it says they will accept any form submitted between the 14th of Nov and 23rd of Jan so clearly they are aware of the issue in their system, buy why after 3 months has no one contacted me to even say there's an issue 🙄 so back to say one of waiting for me ....

Singlemamax · 09/02/2023 17:21

Well i can stop moaning now. Got a payment of 250 today and a letter today as well saying my payments will start from the 20th Feb. Was totally unexpected but glad it's all processed now. So grateful for this benefit. I work hard so it's a boost still being entitled to extra help. Hopefully everyone else hears from them soon as well.

Cece92 · 09/02/2023 20:47

@Singlemamax did the next payment and back payment show on your letter? Mines only had my back payment not my further payment going forward. Xxx

My letter states i am due 25 a week starting from the 14th Nov. That my first payment of 100 will be on the 20th of Feb and that it may be more or less than that but i will in due course receive all i am entitled to. They must say that in case the first payment includes the back payment but i received that today. It didn't even mention anything about backpayments. I wonder if they are seperate letters?

Cece92 · 09/02/2023 21:29

Aaaw mines just said my back payment of £250 will be paid on 27th then £100 after 4 weeks of this date so I assume 24th February xxx

Never had a letter!/email or text after my original application but I was given £600 today

ShinyPikachu · 11/02/2023 10:27

My letter arrived today and it says I'll get £275 on the 13th (backdated to 18th November) and then £100 every 4 weeks after that. Smile

I think it was just a coincidence that i got a letter and my back payment on the same day. Never got a text/email either.
