Any Scottish parents out there that applied for 'Scottish child payment' had any information back?

I applied on morning of 14/11 and have had a text saying the received application and nothing more. I called today and they said it was in a queue. I have not received anything in the post or a request for info. Am assuming as I am in receipt of UC and it’s the same bank account that this should verify my ID. When I spoke to them they also said a separate department was processing arrears/back payments so they would come separately. I was hoping it all came as a lump sum.

@FOXYMORON1707 I'm in the same position. I spoke to them Friday and apparently I had to send a bank statement to confirm bank details. I don't this Friday evening then contacted them yesterday to let them know I had done this. The agent said he would let my case worker know. When I asked how long I'd have to wait he said not long and he said he could assure me I would get it al backdated. I spoke to a pro colleague today who never received it before but his wife applied for his 3 kids who are between 10-15 and they are already receiving it. They applied a few days after the 14th as they hadn't heard about it until I told him about it. He couldn't believe I was still waiting when I asked him today xx

Aw no way I hope you get sorted soon I am a pain tho think will call tomorrow as apparently I filled in my first and last name back to front on application. He said it was okay tho I bet something is a miss and would be great if got all the money together tho was led to believe back payment was being handled by separate dept. Not the staff’s fault as probably things chop and change. I was on hold for about 20 mins last time so not too bad. Xx

I applied the 14th nov, got my backdated payment on the 22nd of dec and got a £200 monthly payment yesterday, 2 kids. X

Did anyone who has received payment get updated during the process or did it just land in bank account? I have had one text since 14-11 saying they have my application. Do they send out written confirmation once it’s been processed with details of payment amount and texts. The update seems to be if you applied before Xmas it will be processed by the end of Feb.

I had two texts. Applied first day. One we received your application. Another to say super busy. Random payment in December of £600, 4 dc so 6 weeks however no update since no text or letter. I’m wondering if lost in the post. I’m also wondering if I will get another payment 4 weeks after the 1st one.

I got paid on 22nd of December I think lots of people did in a push to get as many done pre Christmas as possible.

Finally got a text from social security scotland.

More than I have had - I called as had put my first and last name around the wrong way on the app. The lady was lovely and changed it. Apparently had been sitting dormant so let’s see what happens now.

@FOXYMORON1707 I can't believe nobody contacted you to check this and left it. Mines is assigned to a case worker apparently but when they will process my bank statement who knows. They said it will be really soon. It will be 10 weeks on Monday I applied 🙈 xxxx

I hope they don’t ask me for bank statements I assumed they paid it into the details they already had. I am the same 10
weeks on Monday it’s a savings pot tho I need it now 😳😂😂. Xxx

I finally got my back payment which was so handy but because I applied in October I’m only getting the £20 instead of £25 which I don’t understand? It does say on the letter this can rise with inflation. So I’ll maybe need to call again 😩

Your backdated payment will only be £20 from the date in october you applied until the 14th of november then you will be paid £25 from then

I have received my payments quickly but not once have I been asked for any information to send. I checked my credit score today and have had a soft search done by Tracesmart - Scottish Ministers to identify my identity? All a bit odd - do you think it will be about the child payment? The credit search was done on the same day I received a text from them to say they had received my application. It’s totally freaking me out!

Hi @LJF5 I just googled and it does say they can carry out checks. Bit weird though. You should live chat them and ask them. Xx

I get UC and presumed that would be like a verification of ID and bank account etc. I think the soft search would be in relation to checking details so don’t worry. Still waiting from 14/11 stupidly spent it in my head.

I had grand ideas of doing something nice with my daughter tho it’s gonna go on bills. It’s food and shopping it’s got so expensive. Will afford myself a wee bottle of Prosecco tho when I get it. Xx
