Hi :)

Any Scottish parents out there that applied for 'Scottish child payment' had any information back?

Thanks

I finally got through them and they said they were waiting for more information from me(no one called from October to let me know)

The amount of information and documentation I’ve had to send them is absolutely unreal. When I applied for universal credit, I literally gave them a bank statement and my license.

Hopefully I hear soon.

Do you get an email or anything once your applications processed? Xxx

I got quite a thick letter in the post a few weeks after getting my payments. It was dated shortly after my application so took a while to arrive. It just confirmed my payments.

But mine was really quick. I applied on the 14th. A week and a half later, I had a payment of £50 (so £25 per child). That covered one week. Then, 5 weeks after applying I got £200 (my 4 weekly payment). So they paid me everything due by 5 weeks after applying. And I'll get another £200 on Monday as that's 4 weeks since the last payment. Pattern will carry on like that.

My friend got her back payment today and also got a letter today to say her payments will start from 23rd January (she was adding her eldest to her existing claim) I've not had a single thing yet xxx

Yes I've had the exact same and applies mid morning on the 14th. Out of interest do you have a surname near the beginning of the alphabet as I know others who applied on the 14th who haven't had a thing. I'm B so wondered if it was that

Shatandfattered · 11/01/2023 17:48

I have a child under 6 so im just adding my eldest 2 onto the claim, applied at 8am the 14th nov and still haven't had a thing. Just got through to a very fed up huffing and puffing man who put me on hold again for a laugh i think! To them come back and say its been processed once its been approved theyll be in touch. So basically told me nothing. Not only that but im awaiting child disability changes of circumstances and getting nowhere! Ahgggh

Guesswhosbackagain · 11/01/2023 17:58

Ive spoken with them on webchat earlier and mines has eventually been done! I was taking calls today and every call I had was people chasing up their claims!

Cece92 · 11/01/2023 18:20

@Guesswhosbackagain so if yours is done how long does it take before you get payment? I'm not surprised people are chasing it. People were told 14 days then early January xxx

I just had my usual payment on monday so i'll not get my updated payment for another 4 weeks. I dont ever remember anyone being told 14 days? We knew we were going to be inundated with claims and it was going to take a long time to process them all

Singlemamax · 11/01/2023 21:03

www.dailyrecord.co.uk/lifestyle/money/scottish-child-payment-new-applications-28617530

Average processing times for claims went from 31 days to 36. I am on day 58.

Singlemamax · 11/01/2023 21:11

There are over 5 million people on universal credit alone. I don't understand the delaying regarding this. It's been quite disappointing but oh well.

5 million people didnt apply for uc on the same day......we have change of circumstances, best start grant/foods and also single Scottish child applications to process, by humans. Yes its taking long but we're all doing the best we can

Cece92 · 12/01/2023 10:14

@Guesswhosbackagain it is just taking longer than folk we're expecting. I was told 14 days then a guy from sss told me 30 days from when my application was processed which according to him was 01/12 so that was 43 days ago and 59 days since I applied. I'm happy to wait for the back payment. To be honest I need all the money I can get for a new car at the end of the month. Xxx

@liveforsummer

I'm in the first third of the alphabet, but not right at the beginning.

I did the school run then did the application when I got home, before starting work. So mine would have been submitted before 9am. I assumed they'd do them in the other they were submitted but reading on here, that doesn't seem to be the case.

liveforsummer · 12/01/2023 10:31

I did mine on my morning break and took an early one that day. I guess it could also depend what qualifies you for the payment. I work but receive both working and child tax credits plus housing benefit due to being a single parent as well as receiving CB so easy to find on any systems to check circumstances. Perhaps some take longer to check?

Shatandfattered · 12/01/2023 11:15

I finally got through and mines is being worked on today thank god

WeepingSomnambulist · 12/01/2023 11:54

There really isnt any need to call. That is the one piece of information that has been consistent. After you have applied and they have confirmed reciept, then you dont need to call.

Maybe if everyone stop jamming up the phone lines they could actually get on with the work.

Honestly we're getting taken off of processing to answer phones, its counter productive

TinkerbellS90 · 14/01/2023 17:33

I applied 2/12 I'm still waiting that is 6 weeks now 😐 wonder if they will back date that far! Has anyone been waiting this long for it?

Cece92 · 14/01/2023 17:38

@TinkerbellS90 I applied 14th November however I was told yesterday that I had to send a bank statement to verify my bank details as I've never had any payments from social security before so I uploaded one last night xx

I’m confused about Scottish Child Payments payments. I have 3 kids living with me 3,13 & 15. I’m on ESA, child benefit and Child Tax Credit. Does it mean that one child is £25 per week so if they paid it 4 weekly that’s £100 and my other two as well would that be £300 every 4 weeks??? I’m so confused 😐

Yes - £100 per 4 weeks per child. I have 2 kids under 16 so get £200. You'll get 300
