If this goes horribly wrong it is not my fault.....

Sorry Amber my week has been a cross between the Twilight Zone and soap opera with falling ratings at Christmas.

Today's joy looking after dDad while working. It feels like the toddler years are back (minus trying to fish fuzzy felt out of bottoms and sultanas out of noses hopefully). Thankfully they have superfast internet so I can "work".

NSD yesterday and should be today. Have done a huge amount of overtime in the last month

ememem84 · 08/06/2021 06:16

Up with dd at 5 this morning. She has a temp and snotty nose. I’m not sending her to nursery as temp is too high and they’ll send her home again. It’s not ridiculously high but she’s usually around the 36.6 mark and it’s 37.6. And she feels warm.

Dh is wfh and will keep her here. He’s not too happy about it because he has to work but not many other options.

I’ve just had annual leave and it’s taking the piss to take more time off. And I have a training course this morning.

And Dm usually would have her but she’s going to the U.K. to see dgrandma later this week. She hasn’t seen her for over 18m now (when she’s usually see her every 6 weeks). So can’t risk her not being able to travel or see her.

Mrsmadevans · 08/06/2021 10:21

Morning everyone 😀
AHH Em poor DD and you , it's not fair on you bless you . I hope she is much better soon 🌻
Going to Cyfartha Park to shop in Marks and my fave TKMaxx
Have a lovely day everyone 😊

Bornlazy · 08/06/2021 12:45

Hello everyone. Just checking in after a few weeks.

My Aunt died last week and it was all very intense, as she was going to a hospice which made us feel very guilty but we couldn't cope with the level of care she needed anymore. Anyway she died the day she was supposed to be moved so that was a blessing. Now I have the task of sorting the funeral and all the finances. Numerous phone calls and form filling all the stuff I absolutely dread.

Not doing too bad frugally this month so far, but it does seem to be dragging in.

Love the puppy Life. Very cute.

AmberIsACertainty · 08/06/2021 13:19

Sorry for your loss Born Flowers

Happy shopping Mrs

Get well soon to your DD em

Onwards all that overtime sounds great. It's lovely to have that boost when payday comes. Is it going on a holiday?

ememem84 · 08/06/2021 13:34

Dd napped this morning so Dh said. And she’s with Dm now. Dm didn’t say she couldn’t risk not being able to see dgm. It was us trying to avoid that issue. But Dm stepped in and has saved the day!

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/06/2021 14:16

Born Flowers

That's lovely of DM em. I totally see why you would want to not risk it

SnugglySnerd · 08/06/2021 18:37

Hope dd is ok Em.
Sorry for your loss Born.
Nsd again!

Unescorted · 08/06/2021 19:16

Born sorry to hear that.

Em hope she is feeling better this afternoon. And amazing bagels.

Amber it is more the scaly ugliness rather than the green.

DD is isolating... as is her Boyf. I told them nothing good comes of going to 'spoons, but would they listen?

Wolfcub · 08/06/2021 19:48

Born I'm so sorry Thanks

Lovemaltesers · 08/06/2021 21:03

Born Flowers

Sorry to hear about DDs isolation unescorted.

We have a number of covid cases, fortunately I’ve not been near enough to them, but I’m getting a bit twitchy about it again as it has properly spread. But getting less keen on going in!

I got through to another interview, but I hadn’t asked a crucial question about the job yes I am stupid, but it was a quick cut and paste application so think I will withdraw.

Lovemaltesers · 08/06/2021 21:05

On the plus side, i seem to have cracked job applications at that grade. Would quite like to manage a grade higher though!

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/06/2021 21:11

Leave it love. Dunno what the competition is like and there might be enough without the question. Depending now critical the essential criteria is.

Definitely nothing good in 'spoons.

£28 Sainsbury's as just had to get out. All will get used thought

Lovemaltesers · 08/06/2021 21:21

I haven’t had the interview yet life, it was a rather essential question about the job itself that I hadn’t asked!

marthasmum · 08/06/2021 22:55

born so sorry for your loss, having all the admin must be very draining too

em hope DD is on the mend
unescorted DS1 is isolating too...he'd hung out with a friend all day sat who has now tested positive. There is a little outbreak in the town near us. My DPs have rung us worrying about it...I'm feeling a bit blasé as numbers in the areas around us have been high for so long (we're in the north). Hope it doesn't bite me on the bum Smile

marthasmum · 08/06/2021 22:56

Sorry love just seen it is near you too, hope you all stay safe

Unescorted · 09/06/2021 06:55

Martha there are quite a few of us here that are from Up North. I live in the hills & we are manning the village gates with pitchforks Wink.

We have another cracking day in the offing today. I am going to raid the freezer for BBQ offerings. It also has the advantage that I can use the dining room table for a no pattern A line frock project. You Tube makes it look straight forward and now the sun has come out I need to get rid of my leggings and jumper combo that I have been wearing for the last year.

Numbers are up here. 15. All from in coming travel.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/06/2021 07:10

Ah does it make a difference to whether you can. Do the job?

Cases on the rise everywhere. I'm finding it hard to worry about us but I'm bothered about the DC.

Mrsmadevans · 09/06/2021 07:56

Born l am so sorry Lovely that is so sad for you all bless you 💐

Mrsmadevans · 09/06/2021 07:57

Em hope Dd is on the mend today 💐☺️

Mrsmadevans · 09/06/2021 08:00

Martha that's a worry for you lovely, l hope Ds is ok 💐

Mrsmadevans · 09/06/2021 08:04

Dd2 does the antigen tests every week in work , they all do in the office thankfully 😊. I know it's a nuisance if they get a positive but it's the only way to deal with this damn thing .
DH poorly in the night , gut rot .
He's got the DGOD on and has been wearing it for most of yesterday and for God knows how much longer too 🙄
He's fine btw , Dioralyte and anti diarrhoea tablets Queen here 😊👍👏
NSD probably as DH won't be able to go far we won't go anywhere as he's dying 🙄
Have a lovely day everyone 😊

Mrsmadevans · 09/06/2021 08:09

Unescorted l love the sound of that dress 😊 someone on the Sewing bee FB group l am on did a pr of shorts In tractor fabric and they were amazing. Little things please me 😂
Sorry the job wasn't suitable Love but it's all good experience 😊👏👍

Unescorted · 09/06/2021 08:57

Mrs I am in uncharted territory. It could be a mess, but I have the fabric and the zip so what is there to lose? If it works and is as straightforward as it looks it will be a game changer, because I can never find dresses I like or afford. And there is only one way to find out.

Good luck in removing the DGOD.

Life I am worried about DD - she is asthmatic and does not seemed concerned that bars are squalid covid petri dishes. Her Dr doesn't seem to think that she should be vaccinated out of her age group. DS on the other hand lives outdoors and has the constitution of an ox.
