Happy Easter everyone! A very different Easter Sunday but sure, the Easter Bunny came so all is good. We had chocolate for breakfast and spent a while working on the 'World's Most Difficult' jigsaw. We're having a tasty (I hope) lamb dinner with mash, carrots and broccoli. Chocolate for dessert. Later we'll finish off the Hogwarts Express (Lego) - we've two bags left. It's raining today so we won't get to play any tennis.
Yesterday we cleared out the hot press. Is it bad that DD is 15 and we still had Barbie and Dora duvet covers
? I'm donating everything to the charity shop and just keeping my two favourite duvet covers. I'll wash the rejects during the week and put them in refuse sacks until the charity shops re-open. There were some old clothes belonging to DD in the press also (she used to dress up her dolls in them) and she got all nostalgic when she saw them
. When the shops re-open, I'll buy some nice baskets for storing the bedding and towels.
DD is off to Ex's tomorrow, for a week. I'll miss her but I'll enjoy the peace and quiet. I feel like I'm constantly having to entertain her atm, so she won't be on her electronic devices 24/7 - only child guilt, I think. DCat1 will really miss her - he goes into her room every morning for a cuddle.
They finally made a decision on the state exams. The Leaving Certificate has been postponed until late July. DD was due to sit the Junior Certificate in June but they seem to be scrapping it altogether and replacing it with school based exams in the new academic year. It's all a bit vague and I don't know what that means for DD's art project - does she still need to do it? Maybe my chopping board will survive after all.
Curvy sorry your DD started her periods at such a young age
Seacow did you take out the bouncy castle?
Unescorted I love that you're getting recruitment ads for MI5
. I'm intrigued by what's prompting those ads! That was a nice surprise from your brother. I had a read of that thread about the SIL although I didn't spot your contribution. My favourite comment was, "Do they pay tax?". Only on MN!
Girlie your garden is fab. I'd give my right arm for a visit to a garden centre right now. There's so much I could do in the garden but I've no plants or compost
.
Snuggly Baileys and an egg sounds like a good combination.
Welcome give
north that was a scary drive for DS! The barbecue and Zoom quiz sounds fun though.
Wolf good luck with your job application. Well done for clearing your credit card. You must be so relieved to be debt free (except for the mortgage and loan obviously). I'm so pleased for you. I also feel in control when I do my monthly budget. I'm in limbo regarding taking on the mortgage and proceeding with the separation - I can't do anything until we come out of lockdown.
Sorry to hear about your Dad Love - he's definitely safer at home than in a nursing home at this point in time.
