I've got L'occitane hand & foot creams too & really like them.
Happy belated birthday Happier, your h is a knob, true colours shown.
Sounds like a good shopping trip wolf
mrs sorry you're having to go through such nasty family stuff
Need to go shopping today for dh's birthday. It was on Wednesday but because of the holiday we hadn't got anything sorted so are having a belated lunch tomorrow. It won't be a big spend, a Chillys bottle & a couple of CDs.
Dd has had a friend to sleepover.
Thanks for messages re ds, it is a real breakthrough for him to let us help him & college are being brilliant.

northender · 29/02/2020 07:55

wolf I've a picture of dd & I at the airport trying on ridiculous looking hexagonal sunnies priced at £350!!

Mrsmadevans · 29/02/2020 08:12

ememem84 · 29/02/2020 15:43

£32 riding.

northender · 29/02/2020 16:01

Shopping done
£43 on food in the market, £25 on meat for dh's lunch tomorrow (8 of us). I'm confident there will be plenty of leftovers but didn't want to be too stingy.
£58 on presents for dh (L'Occitane shower gel, 2 CDs, chocolate & a Chillys type bottle)
Now need to meal plan for the week ahead.

Wolfcub · 29/02/2020 16:16

£2.20 Tesco
£10 on a inhaler plastic chamber as I forgot to get one on prescription from the doctors and cba to go back
£5.99 on a verruca sock for DD

I am currently looking at the JD for my interview. I am honestly looking at it and panicking and wondering how I got an interview!

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 29/02/2020 17:29

I've just been going through my direct debits , I seem to have quite of insurances that I need to go through and check I'm getting the best deal. What do other people's insurances tend to come to per month? For life, pet and house insurance mine comes to around £75 a month which seems loads!

We took the dog out earlier and got snowed on 😮 that was a surprise!!

Need to get dd some cough tablets, may get a macDs for tea as a payday treat.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 29/02/2020 17:50

@Mrsmadevans, you sound a lovely daughter and that you cherish your Mum.
I’m making the most of my last two days in the North, it’s been so lovely. My friend and I visited Durham Cathedral yesterday and also had a most agreeable mooch around the shops. I found a new dress and treated myself to new knickers too. My friend has a little niece of four and found a lovely playmobile Camping set, all complete, for £10 in a charity shop, also a Tiger who came to tea floor puzzle. She will save it for when she has a little visitor.
I’ve been to have some waxing done today, £40, very much cheaper than down south. Mum let me do an online Sainsbury’s order for her of iron rations, so I feel more easy about her, and as the bakers in town had no loaves when I went down, I stocked up on plenty of rolls which I shall put in the second freezer she has . I know she is not marooned, she has an excellent milkman, the kindest of neighbours, and we can do an online shop, but all the same, at eighty she is vulnerable.

Wolfcub · 29/02/2020 18:03

Girlie house insurance (building and content) is £46 a month but will go up after the flood

Life is £19 and that's high because of past medical probs

Travel insurance is about £70 a year again because of health

Dd has wicked bad nappy rash. She’s happy in herself but it’s getting me down.

We’re bathing her. Nappy free time. Metanium yellow cream. And it’s only a smidge better.

Sigh. I think teething. Plus weaning. Any other remedies? I’ve done a porridge bath today. Just warm water and porridge (in some tights)

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 29/02/2020 19:38

Em might be worth getting it checked by a Dr, sometimes babies can get thrush or need a steroid cream to calm it all down.

£5.50 on some bits in Sainsbury's.
£11 on a MacDs.

Wolfcub · 29/02/2020 20:01

I agree with Girlie could be thrush if it's not getting better.

Metanium is very strong, I sometimes found it made ds sore so interchanged with Bepanthen and religiously used teething powerders when bum was sore

ememem84 · 29/02/2020 20:07

Teething powders? As i. The sachets of stuff which we’ve given her to help teething?

Sorry if that’s a thick question.

It’s ok. Looks a lot worst than it is I think. It’s not bothering her. Bothering me though. I’m annoyed at myself for not getting it checked yesterday. Should have made an apt really.

We’re on a cycle of whilst awake changing her once an hour. Or as soon as she poops if we can.

I have to go to boots tomorrow for nappies so might ask the pharmacist for advice too.

Wolfcub · 29/02/2020 20:12

Em yes. I used Aston and Parsons powders from boots. I swear they helped

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 29/02/2020 20:13

Not rubbed on bums taken orally just in case I'm confusing matters

OP posts:
ememem84 · 29/02/2020 20:20

We have some of that.... I’ll give it a try. Does it help the bum? (To be fair it seemed to make ds sleepy so it worked whatever it does!!)

Wolfcub · 29/02/2020 21:17

Em yes it's supposed to reduce the increased ammonia produced when they teethe which leads to the sore bum. That might be total cod-science but it's how it was sold to me and I'm convinced it helps

OP posts:
ememem84 · 29/02/2020 21:31

Thanks wolf I did just give her some (but too soon after her bottle so she sicked aaah the powder must have caught I. Her throat 😭 boot baby).

Will persevere with it though. It seemed to always help ds sleep (camomile extract in it maybe?).

For now I’ve switched back to water wipes (we tried boots biodegradable ones but they’re a bit rough), am patting her dry with a muslin then yellow metanium and lashings of sudocream.

I’ve taken a photo of it too. So I can see if it gets better overnight. Will keep documenting it this way.

northender · 01/03/2020 09:06

Em we had problems with nappy rash and used wipes which were just prices of fleece fabric. I cut them up myself, no need to do anything else as it doesn't fray. We then used them dipped in a mix of chamomile tea with a few drops of lavender oil.

ememem84 · 01/03/2020 09:32

This morning it seems better. Still red and sore looking but less so.

Before bed last night I used water wipes, patted dry with a Muslin, metanium (thin layer) then sufocream on top. Nappy not tight but not loose.

Will continue with this all day. Aiming for nappy change every hour (or so) and a good chunk of nappy free time later.

Happierwithouthim · 01/03/2020 10:11

Zero reception in my house and was smothered with post adrenaline cold & there was a storm yesterday so spent it indoors watching daytime tv and dozing. Went to pier near house to get out for ten minutes and we saw an otter fishing for its dinner.

We also have first confirmed case of coronavirus in Ireland. I'm not a panicker so doing nothing. Hmm

My dm was around and could've taken dc but she's clueless with this kind of thing too, its grand. Bf got me a card but he haa been housebound so i aasume more will follow

Mrsevans Envynot envy

ememem84 · 01/03/2020 14:17

£54 in boots - nappies formula metanium canes tan cream on the pharmacists advice and footner socks. I’m taking an hour out now. Footner foot peely socks on. It’s dangerous and slippy to walk about so I’m sitting on bed. With a cup of earl grey. Dd is with dh. Ds is napping. Woop.

I did forget wipes. So will have to grab some more tomorrow. But hey ho.

Wolfcub · 01/03/2020 15:03
